Oh Brother, what a pile of poo

Advantages: looks like it could withstand a baseball bat attack

...I use this fax machine at work and it is the cause of so much stress and tension I thought I would let you all know how I was beaten by such a plain, dull and basically annoying machine that jams on a regular basis, smudges fax transmissions and forgets to send certain important pages at random. If you wanted to buy a Brother FAX 8360P and I would urge everyone reading not to it would cost around £230 and for that you get the fax machine, a network cable to hook it up to your LAN and a lead to plug it into the phone network to enable transmissions. We have had our Brother FAX 8360P for 6 months and the problems started pretty much straight away and the instruction manuals FAQ are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, as it the manufacturers support. BROTHER'S RIBBON CARTRIDGE The Brother FAX-T86 has a ribbon cartridge. This reminds me of the old-fashioned typewriter ribbons, only it's much bigger. It's the width of an A4 piece of paper and holds ribbon the length of 144 sheets of A4 in each cartridge!. The print quality isn't brilliant, but it is readable. It is expensive to run (replacing your ribbon with a twin pack from Viking, faxes work out at 4.9p per sheet), but shouldn't suffer from the same "drying out" problems as the inkjet fax machine. ...I really do feel that most reviewers are missing the best feature of this all in one with fax. I had previously been using a Lexmark all in one with fax, the x5470, which I originally bought for £49, I soon found that the cartridges were between £25-30 just for one cartridge, and it only had two cartridges, which meant that the colour cartridge had 3 small compartments in it, that ran out quickly, as when one colour went, that was it! I bought an ink refill kit, which worked OK, but it meant that the printer always complained that it was out of ink, and I had no idea when the ink would run out. After refilling the cartridges for the second time, the printer refused to work, as it said that I had fitted an incompatible cartridge, something that I later found out was an inbuilt "fuse" that renders cartridges useless soon after their first...
