Reviews of cartridge
Refill in situ, cartridges last even longer.
Review of Member Advice on Inkjet Cartridge Refills by
oldredeyes
Advantages: Offers huge saving on new cartridges
Disadvantages: can be messy and fiddly
...Like many people I find the cost of new printer ink cartridges too expensive. I have tried the alternative route of buying refurbished ones where empty cartridges are cleaned, refilled and resold. My opinion, don’t waste your money. The simple reason is the cartridge’s metal contacts are very delicate and are made useless by taking them in and out of the printer numerous times. If you get a well used refurbished cartridge it simply won’t work or packs up after a few days, I know this from painful and expensive experience.
A better idea which I now use you may want to try, is refilling your own cartridges. Nothing new in that you say but I fill them in situ and it extends the cartridge life considerably.
You will need either a colour inkjet refill kit or a black inkjet refill kit or both obviously depending on your needs. JR...

HP45 Print Cartridge
Review of HP 45 - print cartridge by
richard_richard
Advantages: Print quality, ease of use
Disadvantages: Too expensive
...This print cartridge is designed for use with the Hewlett Packard P 700, 800, 900 and 1100 series of Deskjet printers. We have a couple of 840C printers at my work place and we get through a fair amount of these HP45 cartridges!
The HP45 is a black ink cartridge with a 42ml capacity. The lifespan on this cartridge will vary greatly according to the printing mode and resolution used on the printer.
This toner will retail at around the £20-£22 mark depending on which supplier you use.
The cartridge comes in a small cardboard package. It is held in place by a cardboard surround that can sometimes be a bit of a battle to remove, depending on which way up you open the packaging!
In Use
To make the cartridge ready for fitting into the printer, you first need to remove a plastic strip from the bottom of the cartridge...

Excellent value and quality replacement cartridge
Review of Inkrite PhotoPlus PPCB005 - print cartridge by
Massey42
Advantages: Cheap, maintains print quality
Disadvantages: Loose ink level function, possibly invalidates waranty
...When I came to change the black ink cartridge in my Cannon ip4200 I was shocked at the price of genuine Cannon cartridges. The black one which this replaces would have cost around £10, and although I trust Cannon and understand that they do produce high quality products I could not justify spending this amount on the cartridges.
After looking around on the Internet I had initially been put off the cheap cartridges as they were often unbranded and no information was provided with them. Inkrite actually provide detailed descriptions of the products and highlight areas in which they feel they have improved on the cannon designs. One of these areas is the fact that the sponge part of the cartridge is significantly smaller therefore in theory wasting less ink which ends up trapped in the sponge.
One problem with replacement cartridges...

You get what you pay for with this Tesco cartridge
Review of Tesco C53 Black Ink Cartridge by
rachvt
Advantages: cheap, can still be used to print word documents that are of quite acceptable quality
Disadvantages: Absolutely rubbish for printing pictures, photos, etc.
...I bought this cartridge in one of the larger Tesco stores for £2.97 (or a few pennies around that amount if I didn't remember it accurately!) about 2 months ago. I wanted to save some money on cartridges since I do quite a lot of printing and I own a Canon inkjet printer model number S200x which uses a Canon brand BCI24BK black cartridge which normally costs about twice the price of this Tesco one.
Right from the first print, the quality difference was very noticeable. The black ink smudges everywhere on the print-outs, large random black blobs of ink smudges dotted each printout rendering it unusable. I tried to rectify the problem by doing a print head deep-clean, which didn't help at all. I then adjusted the printer's ink-dry time to the longest time possible, and it did improve the print out of letters (and other word...

Hewlett Packard 92A toner cartridge
Review of HP 92A - toner cartridge by
richard_richard
Advantages: Ease of use, reliability, print quality
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...This toner is designed for use with the HP Laserjet 1100 series printers. We have a number of these printers at the company I work for and so make use of these toners quite a lot.
The toner is quoted as having a page life of 2,500 pages and retails at a price of around £40.
The cartridge comes packaged in a large box with the toner type clearly labelled on the front, which is handy. The toner is secured within the box by two large cardboard holders and comes in package that closely resembles bin bag material!
In Use
This toner cartridge has been sensibly designed so as to make it a fairly easy process when removing an old toner and replacing with a new one. The toner itself slots into the printer, and so this means the old toner just needs to be removed from the holding slots in the toner bay and the new one put in its place...

Roger Me Stupid, Cheap Inkjet Cartridges
Review of Inkrite Inks for Epson - print cartridge by
Champ666
Advantages: Cheap and Just As Good As Epson
Disadvantages: May Affect waranty
...The cost of inkjet cartridges is something that is close to my heart, and if I were to buy genuine Epson cartridges for my Epson Stylus D68 then it would cost me £25. This is an extortionate figure when you consider that that is half the cost of the printer!!!!!! So always on the hunt for a bargain I scoured the length and breadth of upper brook street in Manchester to find a suitable generic cartridge. The Mac and PC centre round the back of the Manchester Aquatic Centre had just that these babies cost me £12 for all four.........
The E611 (Black), E612 (Cyan), E613 (Magenta), E614 (Yellow) fit Epson Stylus D68 / D88 series and DX3800/ DX3850/ DX4200 / DX4800/ DX4850 printers and at £3 a piece they have the potential for being a veritable bargain, which floats my Scottish boat. Installing them into the printer is as easy as pie you...

Intrigue! Suspense! Toner Cartridges…
Review of HP 96A - toner cartridge by
richard_richard
Advantages: Print quality, reliable, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Expensive!
...Are you the sort of person who is interested in adventure, romance and death-defying escapes?
If so, then I’m sorry to disappoint you! None of these exciting topics will be featured in the following review…
On the other hand, if you’re the sort of person interested in the thrills of purchasing and fitting an HP4096A toner cartridge into a Hewlett Packard printer, then this is probably the review you’ve been waiting for!!
The HP4096A toner
This toner cartridge is designed for use with the Hewlett Packard Laserjet 2100 and 2200 laser printers. We have a number of these printers at the company I work for.
The 96A is a black ink cartridge with an estimated life of 8,000 pages. (Of course this will vary slightly according to whether standard or presentation modes are used on the printer).
We purchase these toners from...

Cartridges vs CDs
Review of nintendo - cartridge by
Xeon007
Advantages: Robust, save on game cart
Disadvantages: Expensive, store less data
...When the (then) next generation systems were announced, everyone was surprised at Nintendo's decision to use cartridges for the Nintendo 64. The Saturn and PlayStation both used CDs. Why was that?
For Nintendo, their main concern was piracy. CDs are easy to copy but cartridges are not. Unfortunately, cartridges are more expensive than CDs, hence the reason why N64 games are £40, while PSX games are less than half that price. Also, cartridges can store less data than a CD so N64 games lacked FMV and CD quality sound.
However, there were benefits for us, the gamers. Cartridges are much harder to break and damage then CDs. Also, there are no loading times and we can even save our game data onto the cartridge, without the need for an additional memory pak.
Many people blame the N64's supposed failure on Nintendo's decision...

Cheapest Ink Jet Cartridges in the UK
Review of Member Advice on Inkjet Cartridge Refills by
davegroom
Advantages: Cheap Prices, Online Ordering, Wide Range Of Products
Disadvantages: Refill Cartridges are not genuine, but they produce the same standard as one
...Hi,
Are you sick and tired of paying out over priced inkjet cartridges?? most cartridges cost around £20. Ink2u.co.uk saves you a lot of money, for example an Epson Colour cartridge refill costs only £5.49 including postage and packaging!
Refill inkjet cartridges are simply a genuine cartridge that has been refilled with ink once. The quality is still the same it is just a cheaper alternative than buying the real full price cartridge.
I buy all my cartridges from Ink2u for my Epson Stylus Colour 640. As a student I am always looking for cheaper products to buy as I have to budget what I spend. Now that I don’t have to spend out that extra money I am saving quite a lot each month.
These are the following products that Ink2u currently supply:
· Cannon
· Compaq
· Epson
· Hewlett Packard
· Lexmark
· Olivetti
· Samsung...
