I was one of those people who was originally skeptical about Craig's casting. I grew up with Pierce Brosnan as Bond and I didn't know if I could accept someone else in that role. Sufficed to say, I needn't have worried. Craig is a different kind of Bond, he's not as outwardly flashy as Brosnan and he's more quietly confident. But the style, the attitude and the finesse of his Bond is reminiscent of Sean Connery, you could say he is more of the thinking mans bond. ...The main figure James Bond; Daniel Craig (already known for action films Tomb Raider' (2001, Simon West) and Layer Cake' (2004, Matthew Vaughn) and the future creations His Dark Materials' (2007, Chris Weitz) which I am really looking forward to, is represented throughout the film as an inimitable agent. Craig is represented as a contrast to the other Bonds because he is just commencing work for MI6, whereas the others were conveyed as developed agents with years of experience. Craig in Casino Royale' starts off by having to earn his Double-0 status, he is later represented as vulnerable, which although we have had insights to the characters emotional side in the series; in Tomorrow Never Dies' (1997, Roger Spottiswoode) one close up angle of Brosnan sitting on the beach thinking demonstrates that he cannot control his feelings...

Casino Royale - Take a gamble it's worth it!

Advantages: Great film ticks all the right boxes

...When the ?new? Bond was announced back in 2005 I wasn?t overly impressed. It wasn?t that I didn?t rate Daniel Craig as an actor, I thought he was great in Layer Cake and thoroughly enjoyed that film and yeah he was a sexy man, but James Bond can?t be blond! It just didn?t sit right with me, but that?s personal preference I guess and the fact that all the other Bonds I had seen had been brunette/black, so I didn?t know anything else. I therefore couldn?t get very enthusiastic when Casino Royale hit the big screen and I wasn?t one of the first in the queue to go and see it (not even the Orange Wednesdays offer could get me there). Instead I waited for the DVD and eventually watched it one evening when I had nothing much else to do. Casino Royale ? Casino Royale Collector Edition (spoiler alert)

Advantages: Amazing Stunts, Excellent acting, Good soundtrack
Disadvantages: Not enough gadgets, little slow at times

...This is the first installment of Ian Fleming's James Bond with Daniel Craig taking the lead role, with rumours of Craig appearing at least another 3 in the next few years (including a Quantum of Solace which was released in the UK on the 31st October 2008). With critics anticipating the worst before the film even came out due to rumours Craig was too soft after reportedly losing some of his teeth in the action scenes and reports that Craig couldn't drive the Aston Martin, Casino Royale recieved exceptional reviews and was dubbed as "The best Bond for decades". Gran Casino Royal Hotel

Advantages: Cheap, all inclusive, large bar area
Disadvantages: Noisy, small pool area for size of Hotel

...balconies you will hear them ,believe me. You also have access to sister hotel in area, we did not use this so I can't comment on that sorry. Nor can I comment on casino joining on as kids not allowed in, hence hotel name. Overall we got what we paid for, cheap and cheerful, would personally avoid summer season as it could prove too noisy for families, this view shared by others we spoke to. Having said all this if you want a cheap get away in kids hols then you could do a lot worse, young people could use this Hotel as a base if you want cheap food and drink and somewhere to put your head in the morning after clubbing. We enjoyed the break which is what we wanted, but as I said I would avoid in Summer and certainly pay not much more for this Hotel than I did. This was our first visit to Lloret and we would go back, shops are decent if...

...I know that reviews of Casino Royale are popping up all over the place right now but I simply wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if I didn't put my own opinion of it forward. From my childhood up to the present day, I have always been fascinated by James Bond. I always loved watching the Bond movies and through the years had every official Bond movie on video and then eventually on DVD. I think it's just a guy thing? ...MOVIE REVIEW ONLY ~ ~ I must admit that as a life-long James Bond fan ever since the great Scots actor Sean Connery starred in ?Dr. No? way back in 1962, I was more than a little dubious about the appointment of English actor Daniel Craig as the new Bond in the latest in the long line of Bond movies, Casino Royale. Many other Bond aficionados obviously shared my trepidation.
