Casio Calculator

Advantages: Functions, colour, 2 way power
Disadvantages: too complex to use

...I bought this calculator for my A level examinations. It is terribly handy, I do a lot of maths and be it calculus, vectors, complex numbers or statistics, this calculator will help you a lot. Not only does it boast 403 functions, and most of the keys look like that should be on a UFOs spaceship, if you read the handbook and know how to access and use the functions it is great. These functions are not ones that allow you to cheat ( sadly :P) but they do provide a good basis to check your answers, which can be very valuable when you have no clue whether you good be right or not. Also it comes with a solar panel, providing two way power, meaning you dont have to be scared about whether it would stop in the middle of an exam....

HYBRID Calculator

Advantages: Long battery life, wide range of functions, very light
Disadvantages: None as yet.

...What can I say, the Casio FX991MS is a great calculator. It can be used for regular functions such as adding, multiplying, subtracting and dividing numbers. The more advanced features include squaring, cubing, square rooting, finding areas of circles etc. The calculator also has second functions, this is simply the name given to buttons with two or more functions. These buttons are located on the upper area of the calculator. The first and main function of the buttons are accessed via a simple tap of the button. Accessing the other function(s) of a button involves a little bit more. Other functions of buttons are accessed by pressing the SHIFT button which is located on the top left of the calculator. Once the SHIFT button has been pressed you will be able to access alternate functions of buttons that allow you to. Most...

Dual Power Casio Calc

Advantages: Large buttons, and well layed out Scientific section
Disadvantages: Costly calculator, hard to set up

...A twin powered Scientific calculator, excellent for the school or work. Includes the standard set up of keys, from 1 to 9, +,-,x,/. This calculator includes a scientific section that caters for all eventualities. With 'square' and 'square root'; 'sin, cos, tan' and all the other buttons you expect on such a calculator. So all in all it is a very well equip calculator. Reliability, well mine has never gone wrong. I've had it 7 years. Worked wonders, has seen me through GCSE and A Level. The screen is a nice color and easily readable. I know of several of my friends who have this same calculator, they report no problems either. It is very reliable, unlikely to go wrong. Also the twin power assures you that it will never 'die' on you in times of need. The light needed for the solar power is very small, a reasonably dark room would...

Casio Calculator

Advantages: Good Price, Does that it says it will, Solar powered
Disadvantages: None that i can think of

...I bought this calculator at my local woolworths as i was after a scientific calculator and one that was cheap(i paid under £10 for this one which seemed a good price). The calculator is made by Casio which are a well known brand for making anything from calculators to TV's . The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is a light too which is a bonus. The keys are large enough for most people and all the writing is clear on and above the keys. This scientific calculator with has 249 functions (164 scientific functions) - including statistic functions. It is primarily aimed at secondary school student but i reckon it will be fine for almost any function unless you need the functions of a graphic calculator It is solar powered so it doesn't require any batteries in order to function however as with all solar powered products, you just...

Scientific Calculator alot of features

Advantages: range of features on it, dual powered

...I have had this calculator for 2 years and it has not dated at all, it is a scientific calculator which is solar powered, but also battery powered. There are many modes on this calculater including; Basic Arithmetic - COMP Complex Number calculations - CMPLX Standard Deviation - SD Regression Calculations - REG Base-n calculations - BASE Soultion of Equations - EQN Matrix Calculations - MAT Vector Calculations - VCT It is very easy to use and displays what sum you have typed in appove the answer, handy if you want to double check important figures, without having to type it again. It has all the scientific functions you need and they are very clear on the buttons. You can also do metric conversions on it too. It comes with a lid which slids behind it when in use in front when not in use to stop it getting scratched or random...

Confessions of Maths A-Level student...

Advantages: All the core facilities
Disadvantages: Not the most up to date model

...Having just finished A-Level Maths, I can vouch for the reliability and usefulness of this calculator. It has all of the necessary features for study up to, and I believe, beyond A-Level. Ease of use is a strong point for this product, as it easy to switch between modes (e.g. decimal or radian) and to use the secondary button feature. I have used this calculator for years and never had any problems with it... it's survived being dropped many times and seems very durable! The Casio FX 991 MS has all the standard features of a scientific calculator, but sadly is growing slightly out dated now. Many of my friends have the more up to date Casios, some of which are graphical calculators... which I believe allow you to plot graphs and calculate integrations and differentiations. However, none of this is essential, and the FX 991 MS...

Casio the wonder calculator!

Advantages: Reliable, Long battery life and very handy!
Disadvantages: Long mathmatical equation inputting not so good.

...This Casio calculator has been at my side for approximately at least 5years now, and is in more demand now than previous use. I have used this calculator in 3 main areas. 1. General GCSE 2. Chemistry and Biology A-level and now 3. Chemistry degree (first year only so far?) GCSE: Harking back to the good ole days (why are they called the good ole days? Someone please tell me why!) My calculator joined me in my quest of maths at the tender age of 13, where the most advanced calculations it was asked to do was to deal with are such aspects as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, powers and bracketed equations. These are the basics of most maths until a level maths, and on these small calculations it doesn?t fail. One would think that if it did it wouldn?t really be a good calculator! (By the way...

Schoolchild's wonder

Advantages: 401 different functions including equation solving. Two-way power supply
Disadvantages: May encourage you to cheat in maths as it is so good.

...My first calculator was a casio and I was very impressed with that, however I lost it and as a replacement decided to buy the Casio FX-991MS from Argos (£14.99) which is the most advanceed scientific, handheld, non-graphical calculator which they stock. The two line display means that you can see the calculations you have entered, and replay means you can scroll back up through the previous calculations, both very useful for checking back through calculations. It can perform basic calculations, memory calculations, scientific function calculations, equation calculations, statistical calculations, Base-n, Differential, integration, matrix and vector calculations, as well as metric conversions and scientific constants. All this sounds very complicated but it basically means that it is no ordinary calculator. It can do what you...

Casio fx-83EX is a great school calculator!

Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review

...will be some useful functions on these type of calculators (like solving quadratic equation and drawing out graph transformations etc.) that you cannot do on the Casio fx-83EX. But even now, at university, i still keep this calculator as it is so easy to use and has useful functions that you sometimes don't even get on the very expensive calculators! I would definitely recommend this product! Another last note is to say that to be honest, you don't even need to bother with the instruction manual as it is so simple to use and it is a commonly used calculator in schools so the teachers are bound to know how to do everything!...

Casio MS-8V Calculator

Advantages: Robust design, easy to use
Disadvantages: None

...Working in the motor trade, there are many tools that you need, a telephone, a computer and a good calculator! Mostly I put it down to my age, but a lot of the calculators on the market call for the user to have a PHD in physics! I for one when using a calculator look for ease of use. I'm not the type of guy who needs a computer to tell me what the time is in New York or the exchange rate in Zambia! The point I am trying to make is that, for the job I do (Parts Manager at a franchised car dealership); I need little more than a calculator to add, subtract, divide and multiply. The Casio MS-8V does the job rather well, and that's good enough for me. I don't want to belittle my job as it can get a bit stressful at times, so the ease of use of the calculator makes MY job easier. The Design ---------------- The casing is...
