Casio EXILIM: Usefull? Fun? Worthwhile?

...It is a very lightweight camera for me, and i love the sleek design. The camera quality is realtively good compared to older exilim digital cameras, and with a larg high resolution screen it gives a modern theme to the camera. However, I am one who regularly uploads my photos onto the computer, and although it gives you instructions on how to do so. the camera would not connect to my pc. I took it back to the store, and they tried connecting it to their dispay computer. this failed. However, i still had a warrantee on it, and they replaced it with a camera which now works perfectly well. I am still not 100% satisfied with thi camera choice becuase there are not many settings on this camera which enable you to drastically change the camera photo. Furthermore, for technology newbies, this camera deems very difficult to use...

I was more than a little surprised!

Advantages: Good looking, easy to use and very good image quality.

...I am not long back from a short break in Blackpool and during my holiday I took tons of pictures as you would expect from a photographer but as well as taking many with my own DSLR, I also took well over 200 with the Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z29, that I had been asked to put to the test and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with what this little camera could do. Firstly I have to say that the piano black version of the Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z29 that I was given to work with is a stunning camera, it also comes in silver, pink blue and purple but it has to be the black one for me every time, the next thing of note is how robust the little unit feels, too many cheaper compacts feel cheap but this one feels like a camera of twice its value so, so far so good then. Casio Exilim EX-Z120 - A Grab?

Advantages: Value for money. Big LDC screen. User friendly. Variety photographing mode.

...I just bought this camera not so long ago. After playing around and testing out the camera for a while now, I must say it is up to my expectation. Featuring 7.2 megapixels with 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, this camera promise a quality standard picture. The digital zoom is again not very useful but the optical zoom is superb. The viewfinder is a bit on the smaller scale and not very useful but the LCD screen is huge (2.0") and allow you to make the best adjustment and catch the right angle you need. ...The camera has many practical and useful features: - slim and solid design (it easily fits in any pocket) - big screen and very intuitive interface - can shoot photos and movies - Best Shot technology. I found it very useful using one of the preset settings (like outdoor portrait, landscape, night party, etc), however, it also allows to manually change any setting (white balance, exposure, etc.) and create your own Best shot set up, to be reused when necessary - battery lasts quite a lot - fast shooting: you can shoot many photos one after another - the only bad side of the equipment is that it has the battery/memory card accessible from the same opening, which is quite sensitive and opens unless you are careful. Advantages: Slim, stylish, large LCD screen, good image performance

...As a non-camera using techie, I was shopping around for something fairly simple, fairly slick, fairly small and very functional. I got all of that in spades. I was looking at the Pentax Optio S range, the Cannon IXUS range, the Fuji Z1 and Z2 and the Sony Cyber-Shot cameras also. I didn't even think of looking at Casio. They make calculators, don't they? After reading about the Exilim range being very competitive in the slim camera stakes, I had a look at the S500 and the Z500. Both excellent cameras... and reasonable prices too. It was the size of the LCD screen that swung me towards the Z500 though. 2.7"! Massive, when you see it. Anyway, on to the review.
