A Basically Good Basic Keyboard

Advantages: Simple installation, good performance, good value
Disadvantages: None really

...As far as basic keyboards go, the Saitek Compact USB keyboard is basically OK. I was particularly looking for a simple keyboard with a USB connection which I could plug into my new Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop and this fits the bill perfectly. It even has the same colour scheme - black keys and silver casing. Installation is simple - plug in and go. It doesn't need any software, the Add New Hardware Wizard in Windows installs it automatically. It has adjustable feet so you can alter the angle and is very lightweight It doesn't have anything but the usual basic keyboard functions but at a cost of £8.99 from Argos (used my Nectar rewards again!), I'm not complaining. It also comes with a 2 year guarantee. It took me a little while to get used to the feel of the keyboard, as compared to others I have used, the Saitek keys are...

Genius Wireless USB Keyboard and Optical Mouse

Advantages: Wireless, Relativly cheap, Durable, Initially get rechargeable batteries
Disadvantages: Need to eventually buy new batteries, Problems with low power.

...essential in all modern mice. It has an optical laser so can be used on any surface. Both the keyboard and the mouse are wireless and their signal is picked up by a smart receiver come battery charger. The feature of being wireless is great for people who use spaces for multiple purposes such as a written work/study area as well as for using a PC. It plugs into a standard USB A slot. The box comes with 6 rechargeable AA batteries, user manual and a driver CD. The rechargeable batteries are a great addition to the pack however I found after a few months of use they did not hold the charge as well and did not last. This means eventually you will be using regular batteries which is obviously more expensive than using wired keyboard and mouse equivalents. When the battery power in either the mouse or keyboard gets low it can lead to...

Bridging the USB-PS/2 gap

Advantages: allows you to use PS/2 devices on a USB port, cheap, easy
Disadvantages: none

...Well isn't this a nifty little device? Doesn't it get annoying when you don't have enough space to plug in more PS/2 devices to your PC? PS/2 is becoming obsolete now and sometimes you will get computers without ports for them, including one of my laptops. Another problem with PS/2 ports are that they are always hard to get to; not only will you never find one on a frontal port section (on the front of a PC case) but at the back they are always buried under wires! Also, people with less knowledge about computers would be unlikely to know what a PS/2 port looks like, but will probably know what a USB port looks like! Anyway, I was getting annoyed at my latest laptop for not having any PS/2 ports, since I was planning to use it for gaming and my favourite keyboard and mouse for gaming are both USB. So I went back to the shop I bought...

Review of Belkin USB PS/2 Adapter keyboard / mouse adapter

Fantastic keyboard, so lovely to type on...

Advantages: Separated keys; very nice to type on, very nice to look at (doh!)
Disadvantages: None really

...press the caps lock key momentarily for it to register and activate. Reason? Incase you accidentally tap the caps lock key while typing, so more likely you'll only have caps lock key activated when you actually want it activated...which is quite useful. Takes a few times to adjust to pressing momentarily (and when I say momentarily I mean just a spit second). The keyboard also comes with 2 USB ports on the side for peripherals like a mouse (or the mighty mouse, in some cases) instead of having to plug directly into your Mac/PC. The USB ports won't power high-power peripherals like an iPod Touch (apparently) unless its connected to the iMac (the new iMac's) or a computer with a dedicated USB port...isn't too much of a problem as most cases you just want to plug a flash drive or mouse into the side USB ports - nevertheless its useful...

Casio Calculator

Advantages: Good Price, Does that it says it will, Solar powered
Disadvantages: None that i can think of

...I bought this calculator at my local woolworths as i was after a scientific calculator and one that was cheap(i paid under £10 for this one which seemed a good price). The calculator is made by Casio which are a well known brand for making anything from calculators to TV's . The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is a light too which is a bonus. The keys are large enough for most people and all the writing is clear on and above the keys. This scientific calculator with has 249 functions (164 scientific functions) - including statistic functions. It is primarily aimed at secondary school student but i reckon it will be fine for almost any function unless you need the functions of a graphic calculator It is solar powered so it doesn't require any batteries in order to function however as with all solar powered products, you just...

Diamond review  Not just a gamers keyboard

Advantages: robust, feature packed, incredibly useful, stylish
Disadvantages: large, expensive, replaced by an inferior model

...What's the difference between a standard keyboard and a gaming keyboard? Well, in this case, a honking great big LCD, 18 programmable macro keys, two USB ports and a bright-LED backlight! The Logitech G15 is marketed as a Gamers keyboard when in fact, I think it would be more accurately described as a multipurpose keyboard. I don't really call myself a huge gamer - probably only clocking about 5 hours a week - however I bought this keyboard anyway, with the impression that it would help improve my general computer experience. This keyboard has perhaps been my most useful purchase to date. Style Even by the small thumbnail picture, it's evident that this keyboard really is one of a kind. For starters, it appears to have twice as many buttons as a traditional keyboard, and it does! As well as the full range of characters...

Apple Keyboard

Advantages: Good Multimedia Keys, Flat Desgin, Very Easy to Type.
Disadvantages: Need's OS X Tiger with the latest update or higher, No good on Windows.

...This Apple Keyboard has to be one of the best Apple have ever made. First of with the design, Taking after the Mac Book Keyboard style, it feels like typing on Laptop Keyboard. Typing is very quick and easy. The Keyboard is VERY thin and so it's very easy to move around but will stay where it's put. The Keyboard also has multimedia Keys. These Keys work on OS X good and will work on Windows with Boot Camp Drivers. The Keyboard it self works Plug and Play in Windows but only the standard stuff work. The Keyboard has Brightness, Exposé, Dashboard, Track skip, Pause/Play, Mute, Volume Keys and a Eject Button. The Keyboard being so small does suffer from a small "L Enter Key" however I haven't found this to be a problem. The Keyboard also comes with 2 USB 2.0 Ports on the Left and Right hand side. In trying these they haven...

USB Power-ed up Adapter

Advantages: Compact and Portability
Disadvantages: Price

...This USB Power Adapter is a must accessory to have if you have any kinds of iPods. As you would know, when you buy an iPod, you will only receive the iPod itself and the link cable. This means the only way you can charge the iPod is through the computer. However, this is disadvantage for many reasons since you would need to make sure the computer is on when charging. Because its USB charged, it takes quite a long time to charge it to full. This USB Power Adapter deals with all of the charging problems and many others. The size of the power adapter is very compact, with its dimension of 4cm by 4cm (estimate and could be different when bought from different country). It is also not so heavy for portable use. Also, you can change the adapter itself to European, Asian or wherever with great convenience. All you have to do is slide it...

Review of Apple USB Power Adapter

Good to start

Advantages: Casio chord function, metronome, 100 songs, 120 rythmes, over 500 sounds, lessons
Disadvantages: small range of keys, annoying lady in speak mode

...Almost all the products I get are given to me as presents and this one was aswell. Not the most expensive key board ever, but then again I don't exactly need a whole load of synthesisers do I? No, I just needed a piano that I could play at home, and this has certainly done its job! This casio keyboard is the perfect keyboard if you want to use it just as a piano, but however, if you are a starting keyboard player, I recomend that you get this keyboard since there are synthesiszing options available. Also this keyboard has over 500 different sounds to choose from with an additional 120 rythmes and included in the price is a Casio song book which has 100 songs in it, from easy one handed songs such as happy birthday, to extremely quite hard songs, like canon pachalbel. The lesson feature is also very helpful as it has three steps...

Review of Casio CTK810 Keyboard

Keyboard

Advantages: Design
Disadvantages: Expensive

...This is a good quality keyboard that offers good value for money in the short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be anle to get a cheaper version next year. It incorporates most of the latest features and technology that is currently available on the market. The consumer will have to spend a short period of self-training in order to become fully acquainted with using the product. This can be achieved fairly efficiently by making reference to the guide/instructions that comes in the box. After using this product for a few months I have not so far come up against any reliability issues but only time will tell. I therefore have to recommend the product....
