...When I was younger, my friends and I were addicted to teddies, more in particular those in the TY Beanie range! TY make a lot of soft toys, in all forms, including animals bears, and Beanie Boppers which are like little people. My friends and I loved the TY beanies, and between us probably had all of them!
There are lots of different animals in the TY range, and a lot of them were cats, much to my delight. One of the little cats is known as Frightful. She is not just a normal little kitty though, but represents Halloween. I love witches especially, so this beanie is perfect for me. Frightful is jet black, with bright orange paws. On her head there is an adorable witches hat with cobwebs, complete with little hanging spider. She definitely has a frightening look to her, but she is utterly gorgeous!
To the touch, Frightful has quite long...
...my Dog and Sad Lisa to name a few.
I can?t say there?s any particular songs on the album that I don?t like, the only one I don?t play is Morning has Broken, but that?s only because it was played at my mum?s funeral, and at the moment it still just brings tears to my eyes when I hear it.
Whilst I don?t dislike any of the songs, the only problem I find with an artist like Cat Stevens is that his voice is so distinctive that it makes all his songs sound very similar, even though some of the songs are very folksie and others are quite popish.
I?m led to believe that some of the tracks have been digitally remastered to improve the quality, but since I only listen to music through the crummy speakers on my laptop, so I can?t really speak about the quality of the tracks in this respect.
For anyone who likes Cat Stevens and who doesn...
...Orijen cat and Kitten Dry Food:
The last time I was browsing round the Zooplus website I noticed some ?Orijen? dry cat food which said it was suitable for adult cats and kittens of all breeds and that is was supposed to be exceptionally good for your cats health. I read a few of the reviews and decided to give Orijen a go.
When the food arrived I was amazed by the ingredients, Tifa has never had it so good and is currently eating better than me! As the ingredients are so amazing I am going to include them in my review below.
The food consists of 75% premium animal ingredients, (de-boned chicken, chicken meal, turkey meal, northern whitefish, chicken fat, de-boned turkey, salmon meal, salmon and anchovy oils, de-boned salmon, chicken broth and free-range eggs). The chicken and turkey are grain fed and the fish is wild...
Advantages: For kids, pushes all the right buttons. Disadvantages: None of note
...(Mrs Kwan) who keeps falling asleep and appears not to wake up, even though several things happen to her - such as being put on a coat hangar and placed in the cupboard. There are under strict order from 'Mom' (Kelly Preston) to keep the place tidy because, as a real estate agent, their mother is using their home that night for a party and her boss is very strict on tidiness and obsessed with cleanliness (he will sack anyone who shakes his hand).
Next door is Quinn, played brilliantly by Alec Baldwin: a general slob and liar, but only Conrad seems to notice this - hence the fact Quinn wants to wed 'mom' and pack Conrad off to military school. As Quinn tells Conrad in private: "Oh, I think you're gonna love it! It's just like summer camp, except with brutal forced marches and soul-crushing discipline."
While at home The Cat in the Hat...
Advantages: Entertaining, easy to watch Disadvantages: Hard to take the plot too seriously
...Professor Robert Miles lives in a picture-perfect English village, where he spends his time communing with the dead. He can also control his cat telepathically and uses this ability to wreak revenge on anyone who happens to annoy him. When people begin to die in mysterious ways, a Scotland Yard policeman arrives in the village, using the services of a passing American photographer to take photographs of the crime scenes. The American photographer notices scratch marks on both the Professor and the victims. Will she put two and two together and work out that the cat is responsible? And will anyone believe her if she tells them?
Having read a number of reviews about horror films by an Italian director and writer called Lucio Fulci, I decided it was time I watched one of them myself. Perhaps because I have spent a large chunk of my life...

The Cat Returns begins with schoolgirl, Haru, saving a cat from being run over by a truck. The cat is in fact the Prince of all cats in the Cat Kingdom, the King bestows upon her gifts to thank her but Haru finds out she is to be married to Prince Lune! A voice takes her to the Cat Bureau where the figurine cat, Baron, lives, Baron agrees to help her but the royal cats kidnap her and take Haru to the Cat Kingdom. As they get ready for the 'marvellous' wedding Baron and his friends race against the clock to save her, or else she'll be turned into a cat!
Since I am a fan of most of Studio Ghibli's works, (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service,) this was a welcome...
Advantages: Pleasant family film Disadvantages: A bit short
...I'm not really one for Japanese animation, and I didn't realise until this DVD arrived that it was Japanese. I'd only ordered it from Lovefilm because my son was sick of the constant dog DVDs that my daughter wanted and plumped for a cat one instead.
Synopsis
Haru is a school girl, who's very shy and doesn't have a lot of confidence. One day she sees a cat crossing the road just as the lights change, with a lorry hurtling toward the cat she rushes out and scoops the cat in her lacrosse stick, and jumps thems both to safety.
As she looks up she sees the cat standing on two feet and brushing himself down, she's even more dumbstruck when the cat talks to her and tells her that he's in a rush, but he'll be back later to thank her properly.
Later that night she's woken by the sound of cats screeching in the street, as she...
Advantages: Explores fear Disadvantages: There are none!
...This book is written by Michael Broad and tells the story of scaredy cat who is scared of everything. He hasn't ventured out of the house for years due to the fact that he finds everything so scary. One day 'Boo' the mouse comes along and helps him to see that there is nothing to be scared about and Scaredy cat finally takes his first steps outside.
The illustrations in this book are excellent! They are so bright and vibrant and the characters are so compelling to look at. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the drawings and I particularly like scaredy cat with his wide eyes and cowering body.
The story is written very well and I love the way that some of the words like 'shiver' are written all 'wiggly' to depict the notion of the word. It's very easy to understand and I felt that Noah got the gist of the story very...
Advantages: fun, anarchic, helps with reading, dynamic, reads well aloud Disadvantages: none
...a way that can leave more traditionally minded parents flabbergasted at the complete nonsense that gets uttered.
The genius of Dr Seuss lies in the fact that his books stay just about this side of sane, while retaining the free, rather manic, hyper quality of a child running high on their own creativity and laughter.
"The Cat in a Hat" is amongst the relatively more conventional of Dr Seuss stories, in the sense that it actually has a clear storyline: the story involves two normal human children, in a normal house, and only when their mother goes out on a wet, boring day, the Seussian magic starts with the appearance of a certain Cat. The cat plays tricks, shows off, involves children; and finally lets out of a box two Things which bring the mayhem a few levels up. I love the fact that they are just called Things (Thing one and Thing...
Advantages: Everything cat related in one place - a magazine, an i-mag and TV Disadvantages: None really you just need time to read
...If you are cat lover you can wallow in as much information as you could possibly want with the Cat World range of products. Cat World started out over 20 years ago as a magazine and it is still going strong in that format with many regular subscribers and loads of occasional readers who pick up the glossy magazine at newsagents or supermarkets.
CAT WORLD TV
Recently Cat World have introduced a couple of new developments recognising the expansion of IT into media generally. The most recent of these is Cat World TV. This was launched a couple of weeks ago and is currently free to view (I am not sure how long this offer will last). Cat World TV is a series of short interviews on film, with leading people in the cat arena, providing advice on breeding, health, cat care and general interest. It has to be said that the skills...
