...The salt spray stung my face. The hulls vibrated and groaned. This was speed. Six inches above the water, six feet out from the side of the boat, I had the most fantastic view as the hulls of my Hobie 16 sliced through the clear blue sea leaving perfectly cut water closing in behind them. This is catamaran sailing. Exhilarating, fast and furious. Another small wave, adjust the tiller round up slightly, lean back and up we go, yes clear airtime again and crash we come back down, the lee hull submerges but pulls out in a flash and we carry on as before. As we come into the surf close to shore we ride down the wave front, pull hard on the tiller and flare off the top. Pure adrenaline. I have just come back from my hols. Sailing in a 33 feet racing catamaran in Barcelona

Advantages: exciting, funny, ... a perfect day
Disadvantages: you might get exhausted

...I have been sailing dinghies for a while. I started with hobbiecat some years ago. I love sailing in small boats couse you can feel the sea very close and you do a lot of excercise as well. However, when I have been invited to sail and race in bigger boats I have to say that I've been disapointed: - bigger boats are slow and you don't feel the sea. - you are often the last monkey in a large crew and you don't have the chance to learn... you are just a moving load. If you feel you had had the same dissapointment after moving from dinghies to bigger boats I would suggest to try to sail with the didgeridoo, a 33 feet catamaran owned by 25knot.com 25knots is the only spanish company I've heard of that believes in racing catamarans. Their offer is simple: go sailing for 4-5 hours in the Barcelona coast with a 33feet high...

Thomas Crown Affair

Advantages: A fun film with a great soundtrack and superb remake
Disadvantages: Can get a bit dull at times

...I wasn't too keen on seeing this film when I looked at the box, but was eventually persuaded to watch it by my mum and I actually really enjoyed this film and see it as one of my favourite films! I am normally into more action or war type films, but this is nothing like this and is very different to the norm for me but yet still a great film and worth a watch. This film is actually a remake from the original in 1968 and is about Thomas Crown - a rich billionaire who owns a massive company. However he gets very bored being this rich and needs to find something to do to occupy himself. For example he crashes a very expensive catamaran and bets thousands of pounds on a golf swing for the fun of it. The SeaCat

Advantages: Good way to travel
Disadvantages: Dependent on the weather

.... Customs and loading was very casual. Everyone drove onto the huge catamaran and off we went. Its very spacious inside but not the same size as the larger Channel ferries. On board, there is the usual duty free shops, restaurants, seating areas, gaming machines and aft deck outside viewing. What is a significant change from my last visit is the journey time. It is cut by over half to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Limitation on the boat are quite stringent. It is a fair weather craft and does not run if the sea gets too choppy. Being a catamaran, it rides high in the water and is obviously more at risk to flipping than a ferry. Its still the best and quickest way to get across the channel when travelling over it instead of under it. Prices are not too bad. We got a real good deal for about £75 for a week return and 4 adults in June....

...half an hour before departure time and must say the check-in formalities were quick,efficient yet very friendly. I found the spacious departure lounge to be a pleasant place with a cafe,foreign exchange outlets and a very well stocked newsagents and confectioners. My only complaint is just like on railway stations the tannoy announcements were very hard to decipher;however,there was a LCD screen in the lounge where you could see updated details of arrivals and departures The boarding on to the catamaran was smooth and I found the vessel had a very modern and appealing interior. The soft decor was easy on the eyes. There seemed to be ample seats for everyone on my trip and since I was a wee bit peckish I opted to have a Continental breakfast from the cafe on the upper deck. Thomson Day Trips We decided to treat ourselves to a catamaran trip, which was described as a 'VIP champagne catamaran cruise'. Hmmm, not sure how Victoria Beckham would have got on with this one. The catamaran nets were out of bounds for maintenance! So no sunbathing on the nets, VIP somehow included 32 people huddled onto hard plastic seats and not an awful lot of room to move around, given the 'out of bound nets'. The captain and skipper did not speak one word of English, and we stopped at a grotty beach for lunch...

...Dockyard; Shirley Heights; helicopter trip to the neighbouring island of Barbuda; Falmouth Harbour; catamaran/yacht around the island'; make a picnic and watch the sunset from one of the many beaches. As regard to Allegro Pineapple - a five star resort with five star service - nothing to much for the staff....
