Grand Cayman - pure paradise

Advantages: Beautiful clean beaches, clear water and nice weather.
Disadvantages: Can be expensive and over run from people from cruise liners.

...I went to Grand Cayman last October and found it to be everything I'd imagined it to be. The beaches have lovely light coloured soft sand, beautiful clear waters and the snorkelling is fantastic. So many brightly coloured fish to see and reefs to explore. In October it is very hot there but there is the occasional downpour which tends to be very heavy. However, the rain does not last long and within half an hour everything is dry again. We stayed at a hotel called the Spanish Bay Reef which was excellent and is situatied at the north end of the island. The food was really good and they also laid on barbecues in the evenings on the beach. I would recommend avoiding staying at any of the hotels along seven mile beach. These hotels also cater for passengers visiting from the huge cruise liners that moor just off the island about 3 times...

Ronald's Crocs!

Advantages: very light and comfortable
Disadvantages: look massive

...Everyone of us have their own impression on each item that we intend to buy. With crocs cayman shoes, I was'nt very convince of getting a pair of this shoes because I don't really like the style and design, it looks huge. I actually remember Ronald Mcdonald's shoes! But besides of that, I saw a lot of people wearing them including big time celebrities! I quite wonder what does it have to make everyone crazy enough to buy them and look silly afterwards. On the otherhand, I think they look great for children but not for adult! As I continue critisizing crocs, my very close friend got a pair and have told me that it's the most comfortable shoes she ever had. She prefered wearing them when she's out and doing her favourite weekend shopping in a car boot sale. Crocs never let her down! But still i'm not convinced. THE ENCOUNTER...

...Ever though what is paradise? Well let me tell you about the Cayman Islands. They are 3 beautiful little islands (or splashes of colour as we call them) situated in the middle of the Caribbean in between Jamaica and Cuba. Originally discovered by Christopher Columbus after seeing Turtles nearby. The island is a British Overseas Territory so many things operate similar to Britain including driving on the left. The Main Island and home to the Capital George Town is Grand Cayman. This is where most people visiting the Cayman Islands will come to weather it be by plane or cruise ship. The smaller sister island have very few residents and even less tourism. However are very beautiful and great for that unspoilt feel. A small shuttle plane takes you from Grand Cayman to Little Cayman or Cayman Brac. There is not a lot to do on these...

Crocs 'Snappy' footwear! (Sorry, I couldn't resist....)

Advantages: Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof, Fab!
Disadvantages: Not very stylish

...and they are so light that they float - the best way to wash these things is to chuck them into some warm water, play battleships with them for a while then dry them off and go have fun again. BUT THEY LOOK WEIRD..... Caymans do, but Crocs soon realised that the market was much larger than people wanting an all weather alternative to beach shoes and they have developed lots of different shoes using the same material and production methods. My favourites so far are the Sassari Crocs - these are a girly wedgy shoe that are smart enough to wear to all sorts of garden parties, barbeques and even to work, but you don't get the horrible burning in the ball of your foot and you can actually stand in them for hours without your feet complaining. In case you're wondering about if they get wet (rain or on holiday on the beach etc), basically the result of getting wet is they basically do, but fundamentally nothing changes they don't get uncomfortable, the shape does not warp, they are the same shoe but wetter. How long they take to dry depends on the weather really. ...Sounds strange writting a review about shoes but it has to be said these shoes deserve a review and a good one at that. Crocs advertise their product as the most comfortable shoes you will ever wear,and they could be right !! At first sight these look like many other plastic clog type slip ons,but just slip them on to feel the difference, these shoes really are comfortable in the extreme. They are made from an almost jelly like substance which is very light and soft as well as being very durable. The secret to the good fit is the strap that goes around the back. You soon find your wearing these ALL the time,they are easy to work in,drive in,garden in, to use on the beach or just as slippers around the house.
