...I'm sure just about everyone has heard of the name Memorex, though most likely due to the never ending need for good quality hi-fi or video cassettes. Well, there's now also a variety of CD media available from the same makers. Ever since I brought my first CD Writer, I have been plagued with an array of problems, the first being, "Please insert a disk with more space", or something very similar dependent upon the software I use at any given time. The second problem, and this one is a real pain, "BUFFER UNDERRUN ERROR". At one point I was wasting blank media like there's no tomorrow, but as time and experience showed, it all came down to inadequate quality of the media itself. Review of various - blank, recordable CD's

good, cheap CD/MD recorder

Advantages: ease of use, compact
Disadvantages: entering track names could be quicker

...The Hitachi RMD 100 neatly combines a CD player and an MD recorder into a single hifi seperate. I bought it principly because I wanted an easy way of recording my MDs, and in this function it has been marvelous. I have also found that the sound quality is perhaps unsurprisingly much better than using a portable MD recorder plugged into your amp. Whilst the RMD 100 is not a top of the range model, the whole idea of mixing together CD and MD players is to be compact and functional for people just starting to build up a hifi system, or with limited amounts of cash to do so. If you fit into these categories then you can't go far wrong. Recording MDs is incredible easy, just two buttons to touch; you can enter the track names as it records, and of course you have all the usual functions of MD recorders - move, erase, link tracks, etc. You can...

The show comes under the reality-tv genre. The show follows Girls Aloud on their day to day life as part of one of Britian's top girl bands.. yamaha descant recorder

...I started of playing the descant recorder in primary school, (many years ago,) we started of with the old fashioned wooden ones, by the time I moved to secondary school , the wooden recorder had changed, it was now plastic and dark brown in colour. I was taught the descant hand recorder all through school, we were taught two ways to remember the notes the first set of notes was F - A -C - E, the way to remember this was the word "FACE". the second set of notes was E - G - B - D - F and the way to remember these notes was to remember a short rhymn, which is "every good boy deserves fun." There is about 4 or 5 other recorders, one of them being the treble, Im not sure about the rest of them as I never played them, I just stuck to the wee descant recorder. Unusual teen flick-Empire Records

Advantages: Quirky, fun and great soundtrack
Disadvantages: Predictable and a little sappy on occasions

...I first watched Empire records as a teenager and thought it was one of the best films ever made. Now nostalgia can make me watch it again and again and although I have down-graded it somewhat from 'World's Greatest Movie', I still feel that this is a good film about young adult life and deserves to be a teen classic. The film is about a group of teenagers who work in an independent record store (called Empire Records) run by Joe. The story opens with one of the employees, Lucas, discovereidng that the store is not making enough money and may be sold to a chain called Music Town. To try and save the shop he takes the day's takings and tries to win gambling in Atlantic City but ends up losing it all. Empire Records now in serious danger of having to be sold to the chain, the film follows one day in the life of the store and it's employees...

Advantages: Store yor data, free your hard drive

...I recently managed to fill up my 80GB Hard drive with all sorts of rubbish and needed some CD's to store my information on. Usually I would buy them from Tesco's, but as I was In a hurry I popped into my local computer retailer (Northbridge Computers in Lowestoft) to see what he had available. All he had on this occassion was TDK CD-R80 discs. There was single CD's in cases, boxs of ten in cases and spindles of twenty-five and one hundred. I plummeted for the spindle of twenty-five as I wasn't rich enough at the time to buy the big fat one hundred spindle. ***Product*** The disc's themselves are light blue with a silver swirl on it. TDK CD-R80 is clearly stamped on it. There is plenty of room to write on them and they can store up to 700MB of data or 80 minutes recording time. They are ideal for backing up files, pictures, photos...

...The Daily record is the only paper that I regularly read all the way through. The paper basically just prints daily news on what's happening mainly in the Britain, but also some news from the US and elsewhere. I focus mainly on the back sport pages, then go back to the front and work my way through the more amusing stories. The sports section is pretty good. Most of the information printed is generally correct, unlike the it's main rival... Hotline is included within the sports section. This can be frustrating to read as it is people who have phoned in who's often opinions are printed. Most of which are from people who don't really watch sport it seems. The Daily Record is home to my two favourite columnists - Tam Cowan and the recently recruited Frankie Boyle. My least favourite columnist being Jim McLean who I generally...

Tiny little shops tucked away in the corner of town with wall to wall CDs, cassettes, and vinyl. Record Collector is cream of the crop when it comes to stores of this kind. Probably named after the popular music magazine, this store is deceptively small, the racks and racks of music mean there is a much larger volume of titles than in most similarly sized stores. Deleted and otherwise unavailable items are kept in stock, and the second hand racks are most useful when it comes to tracking down those titles you?ve been after for years.
