Advantages: Everything You Need Disadvantages: LCD Blurs
...There can be no doubt when I say that Pioneer own the DJ CD deck market. Like the Technics, the mighty CDJ range has become the standard install for many clubs and an essential buy for many DJs wishing to make the jump from analog to digital. When Pioneer released the original CDJ-1000 and subsequent 800, they ruled the roost, led the pack plus many other euphemisms meaning they pwned the scene. But the competition soon caught up and even surpassed the functionality and feature set of the CDJs, leaving Pioneer in the enviable but slightly uncomfortable position of being the standard, but not necessarily the cutting edge anymore. If you're an existing Pioneer user, you'll be right at home, as the Pioneer layout rule book has been read and adhered to. Controls are where you'd expect them to be and the CDJ-400 also has an LCD screen that...

Review of Pioneer CDJ-400
Advantages: Greater functionality and ease of use Disadvantages: Price
...This review is based on my experiences of using this product. It is not an in-depth look at its specification. This is a general review on the CDJ-1000MK3, and a comparison with the MK2.
First, a little about my use of the product. I have been djing for over four years now, and started off on a pair of Numark turntables playing vinyl. As the times changed in line with the digital revolution, I, as well as other aspiring dj's, needed to start playing with digital equipment playing cd's. I have never owned a CDJ-1000 but have had extensive use of them in clubs and round at my friends house.
Pro's
Well where can I start? Firstly I would like to make it clear that the MK3's are the industry standard throught the club scene - any decent club night will have at least two of these installed. This is due to many things. The sound...

Review of Pioneer CDJ 1000
Advantages: Excellent effects Disadvantages: No scratch facility
...Having used as friends CDJ200 and enjoyed it very much, I purchased one of my own. The unit looks very good and feels solid in construction. The best features are the looping facility and the ability to cut loops, cutting loops on the CD deck is a feature that the CDJ1000 DOESNT HAVE. The Effects (Jet, Zip and Wah) are good and produce the same result as the Pioneer efx 500 and DJM effects modules.
The pitch adjustment is smooth and you can choose between +/-6,10,12% pitch, the pitch can be bent easily by the jog wheel, this takes a while to get used to as it is different to a standard turntable (1210) and not as dampered as the excellent jog wheel on a CDJ1000, this is acceptable as it is less than half the price.
The ability to play MP3 format cd's is great as you can fit about 150 accapellas on one cd, excellent for easy access...

Review of Pioneer CDJ 200
Advantages: Loads Disadvantages: Not many as its pioneer!
...The CDJ-200 from Pioneer lets you perform some of the hottest tricks to your tracks, before it even hits the mixer! Plays MP3s up to 320 Kbps. Equipped with 3 remix assist functions (Jet, Zip and Wah) and a Digital Jog Break dial, a new remix world can be experienced. By operating the jog dial in time with the music, you can create original sound effects. A large 3.9 inch diameter jog dial enables quick and easy corrections to uneven beats with only a touch.
Digital Jog Break Dial Functions
PITCH BEND
This function changes the music tempo depending on the direction and speed the jog dial is rotated.
FRAME SEARCH
Moves the pause position in frame units (1/75 sec) when the jog dial is rotated in the pause mode.

Review of Pioneer CDJ 200
Advantages: More affordable than the 1000's with almost as much functionality Disadvantages: doesn't have a moving platter - but i don't think you really need that!
...). For anyone looking for an excellent pair of cd decks on a medium to high budget i would recommend the cdj 800 over any of the competitor brands. Chances are that in terms of value for money, you're getting more for your cash than you would for the cdj1000. Good luck and happy shopping. k...

Review of Pioneer CDJ 800
Advantages: Same functionality as CDJ-1000 but half the price Disadvantages: None I have found
...I have owned the Pioneer CMX-3000 for almost two years now. My dilemma was that I wanted CD decks, but couldn't afford to spend £1,400 on a pair of CDJ-1000MKIII but still wanted the build quality and functions of a Pioneer unit. I believe I have found this with this unit. As well as having an auto cue, it has a built in loop function which basically acts as a sampler. Once loop points have been set it can then be saved into the bank memory of the unit, which is another great feature. From my extensive use of the unit, I can honestly say that I have never had any trouble with it, and I recommend it to any dj (being beginner, intermediate, or advanced). I believe that with this unit you are getting as much funtionality and build quality as the CDJ-1000 but at a snip of the price!...
