Advantages: handy for London City Airport, ExCel centre and Canary Wharf, good transport links, great facilities Disadvantages: too far outside of the main pqrt of London, fairly expensive
...**********LONDON EXCEL NOVOTEL**********
Last week I went down to London with my work. I work for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the examination department and as part of our job, we are required to travel down and help out with the twice-yearly exams in London. In our case, we were helping out at the London ExCel centre at Docklands, so our work handily put us up at the ExCel Novotel, which was essentially right next door to the exhibition centre.
Now I've never been to London and to be honest I didn't really get a chance to see much of it while I was down there, as I was only staying for three nights. However, I was very impressed with the hotel and its facilities.
**********LOCATION**********
As I said previously the hotel is situated next to the ExCel centre, which is in the Docklands area...
Advantages: Great sound effects, Amazing multiplayer, Unmatchable longevity, Graphics will appeal to some Disadvantages: The graphics will put some people off, Story mode can be complete rather quickly
...XIII has your character waking up on a beach, injured and, attempting to make sense of events as he has amnesia. This First Person Shooter (FPS) does not break any ground in terms of gameplay or storyline, however what it does it pulls off remarkably well and is a very fun game in its own right.
Graphics
The very first thing the player will notice and the issue that players will either love or hate are the unique graphics. XIII drops the notion of realism and goes for an unusual cel-shaded look with various pop up boxes completing the comic book effect. The graphics are the most striking thing about this game and set it apart from other games in the FPS genre. The characters are generally very well detailed, despite some of the enemies being identical. The weapons are also well detailed and look realistic despite the comic book...

Review of XIII (GameCube)
Advantages: Original fun colouful dare i say it sexy beat hell out of your mates game Disadvantages: Can't really think of any but i have to use 15 words in my description
...the place, of course don't forget to beat the hell out of your opponents at the same time.
Cell Damage uses cel animation technology that allows the game to look and feel like a unique hand-painted cartoon universe. The constant wacky action takes place in 12 interactive levels spread over four themed worlds of a universe controlled by 'toon characters ranging in style from Fowl Mouth, modeled on an old black and white cartoon duck from the '30s, to an anime-style manga girl/Vampire named Violet and Lumberjack based on Elvis.
The game initially offers six unique 'toon characters and challenges, but there are four additional characters unlock. Adding to the overall game experience, each of the characters owns a unique vehicle as well as specialized weapon.
The controls are simple too, limited to just for actions, forward, reverse...
Advantages: Stunning visuals, animation and character design Disadvantages: Too easy and the storyline a little lacking.
...While playing through Prince of Persia it is so easy to lose yourself in its immersive world. Which is one of the game's best selling points, not due to story but it's incredible visuals. Taking the long-running series down a different path, the game utilizes cel-shaded graphics which really enhance the feeling of an old legend being told once again.
The story however, is very hit and miss but with that being said, it is not constantly rammed down your throat and plays an overall silent part in the game. Taking control of a very different looking Prince, the main goal is to seal the evil God Ahriman in his temple by using the power of Ormazd with your new companion, the independent Elika; who luckily has this power.
Combat is primarily cinematic and requires very little player input. Quite a disappointment when the previous titles in...
Advantages: Comic style graphics, challenging, decent game duration Disadvantages: Incomplete story, load times on lengthy side, an average FPS at heart
...An FPS based on the Belgian comic of the same name.
[+] The game's comic style given by the cel-shaded graphics. Inset boxes showing what is going on in the surroundings, and being able to 'see' as well as hear sound effects.
[+] Yet there are realistic touches, such as the way the image is distorted when underwater and temporary loss of hearing from deafening sounds.
[-] Could have kept consistency of game's graphical style throughout as FMV sequences are without dialogue boxes (which would have helped the hard of hearing).
[+/-] The graphic effect that shows kills close-up (this can be disabled) but it appears as if the shooting is either head shot or not - as such the game is about average for animation.
[-] And the A.I. isn't great. Despite the enemy being decent shots, they have trouble dealing with doors.
[-] Frequent use...

Review of XIII (PS2)
Advantages: Some innovative ideas Disadvantages: Environments are extremely sparse, not a long game, mostly mundane gameplay
...the cleverest feature though, is 'time dilation'. By saving up a enough orange globes (one of three colours dropped by downed enemies) you can press R3 during combat to switch to a 2D grid. You then move your icon around the grid, avoiding obstacles, until it lands on an enemy square - upon which as snazzy cut-scene will show you dismembering the enemy in explosive fashion. The real twist is that you can only move your icon with Dancing Stage-like timing, so a good rhythm is essential if you are to witness the meatiest pyrotechnics.
Despite these innovative features, Alter Echo shakes beneath a wad of sour notes. The puzzles are obvious, the camera is disorientating and the surroundings dictate which form you need to adopt in order to conquer them. With more open-ended challenges and some flashier cel-shaded graphics, Alter Echo might have...

Review of Alter Echo (PS2)
Advantages: Amazing graphic style full of colour, slick and frantic gameplay. Disadvantages: Slightly short (play it on hard mode and it will last much longer though)
...I first saw this game on television ("Gamer Tv" I think) and thought that it looked quite original and different from other games I played. From the moment I first played it, I fell in love with teh eye-popping technicolor graphics and the clever use of cel-shaded animation. The gameplay is repetetive linear, but there's something appealing and enjoyable about the old school style beat-em up gameplay. The time control features are great and show off a lot of unique special effects. You also find that there can be a certain depth to using the time effects strategically, especially on hard mode. Some puzzles break up the frantic fast paced action, some requring the use of VFX powers in unique ways. The soundtrack is lively and eerie when it needs to be and complements the action really well. So all in all, Clover Studio have developed this...
