Tesco mobile network - in fact O2 coverage
Advantages: O2 coverage (best in the UK), free credits, easy top up, unlatch possible
Disadvantages: high call charges (expected with PAYG phone)
...Here I would like to talk about the Tesco mobile service rather the phone.
For the phone Sony Ericsson T303 please read my other review posted yesterday.
First of all, I got the phone and Tesco (always) has an offer of buying a new PAYG phone and credit you £10! This is not a free credit which will expire after a month but 'real' credit that will never expire until you have used it. Good !
The second impressive offer is triple you top up i.e. I have topped up £15 and Tesco gave me £30 free credit (expires after one month - if you don't use it, you lose it). You do need to pre-register this prior to your first top-up. The most important thing of this offer is: your free credits automatically get used first and then your real credits. Free credits can be used for normal national calls including landlines and text...

My Supermarket Mobile
Advantages: Cheap, easy to get started, good coverage, clubcard points
Disadvantages: None so far
...So here we go again another review brought about by the fact I had to move to keep my job (long story and will be covered when I write the review of my employers when and if Ciao list them). Sadly for Orange their network doesn't cover Lydd camp - just the area outside it but no signal penerates the camp fence oddly enough.
So while on my hunt for a working network I checked the O2 website and found they claim to have full coverage across the camp, not long after this I remembered the handset and SIM I was given by the nightclub I used to work for but was on Tesco mobile. Dont worry I've not lost it, Tesco mobile and O2 are pretty much the same thing because Tesco buy the 'spare' satellite time from O2 to operate their network. Which means that while the Tesco sell the SIM's and the handsets its O2 that owns and operates...

Tesco are now Mobile...
Advantages: Reasonable cost and a straightforward range of tariffs
Disadvantages: Some underlying network problems
...Want to buy your mobile while picking up your beans? Why not go one better and have the supermarket BE the mobile network with Tesco Mobile (well almost? see below!).
When did Tesco build a mobile network?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The answer, of course, is that they didn't. The Tesco Mobile network is a 'virtual' network, similar to Virgin Mobile, in this case being carried on the O2 network. It is a joint venture between Tesco and O2. Why do these virtual networks exist? On the (physical) network operator's side they use up spare capacity while someone else picks up the marketing bill. On the (virtual) network operator's side they gain the ability to offer mobile telephony services without the need to spend (many) millions and years building a network. Here O2 effectively get access to Tesco's undoubted marketing ability...
Bob's mobile
Advantages: learns numbers
Disadvantages: noisy
...Hello!
My son has been great fan of bob the builder for quiet sometime. But as time goes - he is 6 now- he grow up from some of his baby toys. And just few days ago I have cleared his bedroom from his old and baby toys. And there was quiet some of them and in good condition so I thought that I will take them to the charity shop.
But as I was packing them his younger sister was sort of helping me. As I was putting the toys in the bag she was taking them out. And she has find bob mobile phone and started to play with it. So I can say that I have clear my boy bedroom to his sister bedroom. And I just clean it up with only few toys going to the charity shop.
Since them my little girl is waking the phone and saying: ?bob on the phone?.
I do like vetch toys but my kids love them.
the toy
The phone is shape of bob...
mobile magic
Advantages: great fun for scarlett, stimulating, visually bright, aids development
Disadvantages: the novelty will wear of, a little flimsy
...For Scarlett?s first Christmas one of the presents we got her was a mobile. She?s too young for a mobile I hear you say, yes we?ve heard that one before! Her first Christmas has coincided with us finally moving her from her moses basket to her cot, so the mobile was a good buy
DESIGN
I always thought that baby?s mobiles were quite unsophisticated things that just blew around a little, I was wrong! The mobile is a very bright eye catching concoction. It has three different animals hanging from a bright green pole that crooks at the top. Each animal is hung from a bit of string that is attached to a something that looks like a lampshade. Each of the three lampshades are the same colour as the animal and have black stripes on the underneath of the lampshade.
There is a bright green frog with big bulgy eyes and black striped legs...
Virgin Mobile
Advantages: Everything is an Advantage
Disadvantages: Naaa
...After being with virgin mobile since it first was set up in 1999 and still at this present day, I have had no problems with them at all. I first started with the Philips Savvy and then moved on to a Nokia 3310 cause I dropped water on the damn thing, but other than that I have had no problem with the operator itself.
The thing that drew me towards the idea of Virgin mobile was:
1) Cheap calls
2) Free voice mail (which you have to pay for on other operators)
3) Great savings and deals (when you buy a phone and during the time you are with them)
4) Friendly staff to help you out if some thing goes wrong or when you register.
5) Great COVERAGE (for once)
6) Different way to pay
1) Cheap calls:
The phone prices are cheap than other operators, which are always a big thing for the public, and over the last couple of years...
T erffic Mobile
Advantages: Good Coverage, Excllent Customer Services, Excellent Price Plans
Disadvantages: none
...In a world full of expanding technology and new innovations it becomes very difficult to keep up with what?s happening in the world. You buy one new gadget and just as you learn how to use it another one appears and yours becomes out of date. The same is to be said for mobile phones. Not long ago they were absolutely huge! When I look back and think about what I must have looked like carrying one of those things around with me I cringe with embarrassment. I was never a yuppy or anything but as a lone female walking around collecting money in some rather dodgy areas it was a necessary safety precaution (note I said collecting and not earning! lol)
Nowadays it seems the smaller the better and it makes you wonder how they manage to increase technology and decrease the size of the handset?
So you can now use phones for web browsing...
Is MobileMe for you?
Advantages: Great variety of features in the classic Apple style
Disadvantages: Expensive if you do not already own a lot of (expensive) Mac products
...been infected with this increasingly persuasive urge to buy every product and service that Apple bring out onto the market. And buying all of those is expensive. Especially when Apple have a tendency to bring out new versions of products each year, each one more tantalising than the last.
MobileMe is one such example of this. It is a subscription service that Apple provides which effectively combines a lot of different online services into one package. Has had a numer of different incarnations over time, the most recent being '.mac'. Effectively MobileMe is just the newest evolution of this product, which in itself provides numerous different services. It would be difficult to sum these services up without saying 'it's like Microsoft Exchange, but on a Mac'. And that isn't going to help those of you who don't know what Microsoft Exchange...
Virgin Mobile
Advantages: great customer service, good call plans, free voicemail
Disadvantages: lack of different call plans
...Virgin Mobile, is a virtual network operator in the UK that uses the T-Mobile network. Virgin Mobile, is part of Richard Branson's Virgin group, hence its Virgin branding.
Virgin Mobile was the UK's first virtual mobile operator after its launch in 1999.
In this review, I will outline the pros and cons of joining this mobile operator, and give a short outline towards the different tarrifs for the pay as you go plan, and whether I think the prices are reasonable.
Anyway, without further a do, lets get on to the review.
What are the price plans?
Virgin Mobile have two very different call plans.
The two price plans are
*Pay as you go
*Daily Bonus Tariff.
Pay As You Go Tariff
The Pay As You Go Tariff is the default tariff in which you are currently set onto. In my opinion, this tariff is fantastic if you...
Review of Virgin Mobile Pay As You Go
Three's mobile broadband
Advantages: no contracts
Disadvantages: not as fast as many non dongle internet
...I recenly purchased a pay as you go dongle from three, which enabled me to get mobile broadband.
I purchased a 3GB allowance top up that cost me 15 GBP. All top ups last for 30 days. I purchased mine on 01/09/09 and it expired 30/09/09. I spend about 4 hours a day on the internet, I do not download any music but frequently watch videos on sites such as youtube.com.
I did not run out of top up and found the speed to be quite fast and connection to be quite good.
Customer service is great as you can speak to someone by calling the three customer service number if you have any problems, which is an 078 number (so cost the same as a mobile number and not the dreaded 0845 or 0870 number) and the staff are extremely useful.
There are no contracts, credit checks or anything like that and work just like topping up a mobile phone....
