...As a child who loved all things soft and cuddly, I was a huge fan of the TY beanie babies. My friends and I were obsessed, always buying them with our pocket money. Between us I think we would have had every single one! There are all sorts of animals to collect in the TY range, and quite a selection of Beanie Baby Bears. Needless to say, these are a wide variety of bears of all sorts. Not the grizzly or polar type, but the teddy bear type! One of these bears I had was America the bear. He was the bear that, well, represented America! There were various country bears and this was one of my favourites. Sitting down, he looks quite cute. He is a sky blue colour, with the american flag on the right of his chest. Around his next he has a little bow the colours of the American flag: blue, red, white. His little face is so adorable...

Disadvantages: On MTV - so if you haven't got Satellite you can't watch it

Disadvantages: Some bits are more interesting than others

...It?s hard to define a book that incorporates etymology, history, culture, sociology and a huge amount of humour; the best I can do is to rather vaguely term it ?a complete success and a pleasure to read?. ...Central Trains are their own worst enemy. They provide train services from Shrewsbury to Nottingham via Birmingham and also to East Anglia. They have provided train services for a long time. So how come they still have not got it right, yet? Central Trains is the cause of many phone calls to consumer radio programmes in the Midlands. And you often hear a spokesman or spokeswoman coming up with some explanation as to why they have managed to mess things up, again. One of the problems that face passengers of Central Trains is the fact that Central Trains seems unable to understand that, sometimes, people become ill and have to 'phone in sick.   My Camp America experience

Advantages: Great Experience, Camps in great settings

...Students these days are told to do something worthwhile in their long summer breaks from University, lots choose to go abroad to far-flung locations, possibly to work, and it was with this in mind that I decided halfway through my year at University that I wanted to go and work on an America summer camp. Angels in America-a gay fantasia?

Advantages: Fabulous acting and beautiful cinematography
Disadvantages: possibly length

.... Joe's mother also focuses prominently in the second part of the programme. Whilst Angels in America is compelling in dealing with the relationships of the main characters and the subtlities involved in human interaction, it also has a whole other level when Prior possibly sinks into insanity and believes he is visited by the 'Angel of America' and is given a mission to halt human progress which has driven God away from earth leaving only the angels. It is left to the viewer to decide whether the fantastical element is real or imagined but regardless each time the angel appears it adds to the understanding of the characters and raises important questions about the difficulties they are experiencing. America's Sickly Sweetness

Advantages: Top notch cast
Disadvantages: Very weak script and plot

...America's Sweethearts is a 'satire' on the overhyped 'Hollywood machine' and the emptiness, egotism and selfishness of its stars. The cast is led by Catherine Zeta Jones, John Cusack, Julia Roberts and Billy Crystal. It's a brilliant premise with a top-notch cast, but sadly it's a great disappointment. The plot: Zeta Jones and Cusack are a separated couple who have made a string of highly successful films together. Since their split at the end of making the movie, Cusack has been in a Buddhist/Yogic/New Age clinic trying to come to terms with losing her, while she's been shacked up with a muscled but empty-headed Spanish wannabe. Crystal is the studio publicist who has to get them both together at a media junket to resurrect their careers and get the film from the director (Christopher Walken) who's been holding it back...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.

...I stayed in this hotel in August 2007 and the following is my view and opinion. I would also like to state that on Ciao, this hotel is listed as a 1 star hotel, whereas in fact the Elysees Opera is a 3 star hotel. The hotel is named America Opera and Elysees Opera, i stayed in the Elysees Opera. I'm not sure as to why there are 2 names? Location The road of Rue de Turin was very easy to find. We got the Metro to the nearest stop, Rome, and we were provided with a small map illustrating the location. So we found the road and walked down it, only passing one hotel on the way down. This hotel was named The America Opera. However we had booked in to The Elysees Opera Hotel. So we kept walking until we got to the end of the road. Central Park, Peterborough.

Advantages: An oasis in the city
Disadvantages: None that I know

...I have lived in Peterborough for 37 years, and the Central Park has always been the place to take your children, photos of the park go back to Victorian times and the actual layout has not changed since then. For one it cannot get any bigger as it is in the older central part of the city with buildings all around, though this does not distract from the Park itself. The Park is one large circle with a very wide road around the outside. There are four gates, entry points to the Park and about ten yards in an inner footpath that goes around the Park. The four gates all have footpaths that lead to the centre which is a large flower bed that has a willow tree, this my husband tells me was planted some time in the 60's as there used to be a band stand on the same spot.
