...he picked out for us was the Fernox TF1 Magnetic Filter which is a kind of cleaning system for central heating pipework - it cost £69 (we don't pay for his time but as he's very much self employed we pay trade price for most of the hardware - non trade price is around £90 and I'd imagine you do need some level of skill to fit it, and if you don't have that skill you'll need to add on labour costs...
