...In "the city that never sleeps," especially if you're visiting for the first time, it's all about site-seeing, shopping, and taking advantage of New York's endless amount of restuarants. So when choosing a hotel, it's all about location! I took my first ever visit to New York (and certainly not my last, taking into consideration the amazing time I had there) in February 2007, for a school trip, and stayed in Park Central Hotel. FIRST IMPRESSIONS I was delighted when we first arrived at the Park Central hotel - the immaculate lobby and reception area, with brown leather sofas and sparkling floor tiles, was classy and modern. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us our room keys, and we went off up the lifts (we didn't fancy taking the stairs, having being accomodated on numerous floors up the building!) to our room...

Right in Central Bath - a Cheap Hotel

Advantages: Cheap, close to shops, clubs and restaurants
Disadvantages: Noisy, below par surroundings

...I've stayed in a few Travelodges over the years and I have a particular view of them. This Travelodge did not live up to that image, I was quite disappointed with this hotel. Bear in mind that I've stayed in Travelodges in Portsmouth, Milton Keynes, etc, Bath is a few steps up on the "posh" scale so I was expecting maybe slightly more of this Travelodge. Not the slightly less that I received. My partner and I went to Bath Travelodge for three nights over Valentine's weekend. Just a slight distance from the train station, a taxi at night is needed but it's an easy walk in the daylight, straight through all of the shops. Even from the outside, this TL is unlike most others. There are no huge, glaring signs pointing it out to every passerby, in fact I think you could easily miss it. Central and Ideally Placed, Hotel Roma Reial

Advantages: Perfect location, excellent Hotel if you just want somewhere to sleep
Disadvantages: A little hard to find, nothing really major though, Breakfast could have been more substantial

Having been to Barcelona a few years ago and staying well outside the main centre I decided that this time I wanted something quite central but also at a budget price. Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema in central position

Advantages: Easy access to public transport and sea front promenade
Disadvantages: cramped and slow lifts

...The Plaza Regency hotel, Sliema is situated at 251 Tower Road, or as the local street signs put it Triq it-Torri. It is seperated from its sister hotel The Plaza, by a road Triq San Frangisk. The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) of the Plaza Regency. Both hotels have several steps to climb to get from street level to Reception and in my opinion would be awkward for someone of limited mobility. Advantages: Great location, Comfortable beds.

...of the word clean. +++Prices+++++ We paid £99 per night for a triple room including breakfast which is great for Central London. They were happy to take a telephone booking in return for a credit card number. Details of the prices are on the web site. +++Summary++++ Overall it was a nice, friendly, small hotel and if they cleaned it up I would be happy to go back again. Otherwise I will not be going back! ...I recently spent a weekend in Amsterdam and Stayed in the two star Amstelzicht Hotel. We booked it through the web at www.booking.nl, which is a great site that is easy to navigate and gives good deatils on hotels. Booking cannot be taken on line but when I sent them an email they were very prompt in replying and I had no issue at all in reagard to booking the room. The Hotel is in a great part of town. Its right on the Amstel river and is just behind the Rembrandtplein - one of the major suqres in Amsterdam. We stayed in a "superior" room as there was no standard accomodation left. The building suffer from the same lean and quirky angles that alot of Amsterdam building suffer from, but I cannot fault the hotel in anyway at all. The room was large and overlooking the canal. ...I stayed in the Hotel centro when i went to Florence towards the end of 2006. It is located in a superb spot within walking distance from the station which was a first advantage. The hotel itself is based upstairs over a supermarket which closes at around 10 at night and is down a quieter back street therefore it is a reasonably quiet street, meaning you get a good nights sleep. On arrival you have to buzz in, so a receptionist, who are on 24 hours, can let you into the building. You go upstairs to the small reception desk. ...This hotel ideally located in the centre of London and is perfect for whether you are staying the capital for business for for pleasure. The central location means that it is extremely close to all of the capitals main attractions. Very close to the westend, it is perfect if you want to go and see a show. The rooms in this hotel are high class and are ideal for anyone, particularlly if you are travelling with your family. The food here isnt that bad, but there are plenty of of other places around to find a bit to eat. I wasnt to keen on the food but that was my personal opinion. The staff were also very helpful and I couldnt fault to qulity of serivce. A definite thumbs up!...

...My family and I booked a family room for the four of us for the night(Aug 08) through the Activehotels.com site,and like the previous reviewer,had read grand descriptions of the hotel,boasting all its supposed amenities and room facilities and design. On arrival, we were met by reception staff who admitted to "not knowing what he was doin",and he tried to charge over 4 times the rate at which was confirmed during online booking. He asked another member of staff to help,and this was supposedly resolved. He then stated that we would have to leave our debit card details for a £25 security hold but this would not be charged. After awaiting 10 mins on the elavator,due to the other 2 being broken,we finally arrived to our room,struggling with our luggage.
