Briliant Value In Central London
Advantages: So cheap, clean, quiet
Disadvantages: No facilities beyond the bare minimum
..., probably because Friends and Will and Grace are more appealing that the cartoons they were showing on the other channels that day, what with it being shortly after Christmas (the photo on the website implies you'll be munching away to the BBC Breakfast?) The breakfast room could seat about 20 people and most of the tables were full while we were there, dispelling the myth that we were the only guests in residence.
So how much did a night in this remarkably acceptable central London hotel cost? A mere £65 in total for a triple room and breakfast for 3. This, dear reader, is considered a wild bargain in m mind, and explains why my expectations were low prior to arrival. It was much more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel and there were no real facilities (a small reception area, garden and breakfast room were essentially it) but it was all so...

A Central Location, Ideal For Exploring London
Advantages: Reasonable deals on rooms, good facilities, nice spacious rooms, central location
Disadvantages: Prices of the extra items such as breakfast
...the bill settled and ready to leave within about 5 minutes of arriving at the reception desk. The small amount of interaction we had with the staff they all seemed friendly enough and really made sure we had everything we needed. As we had a few hours to spare before our train on the Sunday we were also able to leave our luggage in their secure luggage room. This helped us immensely and made our last day in London a lot easier.
Overall the hotel did exactly what we were looking for. It provided us with a nice central base from which to explore London. It was easily accessible by tube and train, making it easy to find our way to where we wanted to go. The bed was comfortable enough and despite the price of the extras, the room was very good value and incredibly comfortable. If you are looking for a Hotel to explore London or for a theatre...

The London Underground - Central line
Advantages: Good way to see London
Disadvantages: Dirty and old
...One of the busiest transport networks in the entire world is based right here in London.
Its common name is "the Underground" a name adopted in the 1930's along with its famous Red circle and Blue stripe through.
Yet the tube network was started much earlier in the late 1800's.
The underground was a complex maze of tunnels constructed deep underground to solve the transport problems that were beginning to affect London.
Lack of space was an issue above so the answer was found below.
One of the lines that runs deep underground is called the Central Line. It is the most heavily used by commuters and tourists alike. It appears on the map as a Red line running through London from side to side.
Im going to explain all of the stations in this opinion and will take you on a journey along the line from East to West.
Firstly, I...

Central London Budget Hotel
Advantages: Great location, Comfortable beds.
Disadvantages: Grubby
...of the word clean.
+++Prices+++++
We paid £99 per night for a triple room including breakfast which is great for Central London. They were happy to take a telephone booking in return for a credit card number. Details of the prices are on the web site.
+++Summary++++
Overall it was a nice, friendly, small hotel and if they cleaned it up I would be happy to go back again. Otherwise I will not be going back! There are lots of other hotels in the same road which might be worth considering....

CHEAP BUT GOOD ACCOMODATION IN CENTRAL LONDON
Advantages: Cheap, clean rooms, excellent location, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Check out by 10:30am, you have to make your own bed?
...The Piccadilly Backpackers Hostel known on the sign as simply picadillybackpackers is probably the cheapest place to stay in London. (Excluding prostitute infested ?hotels? that charge by the hour in Kings Cross that is).
Located on Sherwood Street just one minute from Piccadilly Circus tube the hostel is right in the heart of London within walking distance of anywhere in the West End really and so close to the tube station if you need to go anywhere further a field you?ll have no problems.
Living 20 miles or so outside of Central London going into London at night always presents one inevitable dilemma ? racing to get the last train home and then occasionally missing it and being faced with two options. Sleep at the station and wait a few hours till the first train in the morning or risk getting an expensive minicab.
Well in...

LUXURY IN LONDON!
Advantages: Brilliant rooms, service, food, internet etc
Disadvantages: expensive!!!
...In the middle of February, I was lucky enough to be whisked away for a long weekend in London with my grandma. I?m a huge fan of west end shows and musicals, and so our trip was booked- we would go and see various different shows. I couldn?t wait to go.
One thing I hadn?t thought of before going however was which hotel we were staying in. I reckoned that we wouldn?t be spending too much time in the hotel itself, as we were going to be very busy, so as long as it had two beds, a bathroom and some sort of wardrobe I?d have been happy. I knew the name of the hotel was The Grosvenor, however I didn?t have a clue what its reviews were like, or in fact how many stars it had.
Getting to the hotel
We had absolutely no problem finding the hotel. We took the train from our hometown, to King?s Cross in London. We only had to wait...

Great shopping and services in central London
Advantages: Open late, many shops and restaurants, central, cinema
Disadvantages: None?
...Whiteleys is great - a gorgeous building, lots of cool shops, centrally located in Bayswater/Queensway, cinema, art gallery, themed restaurants - and it's all open later than virtually everywhere else in London!
LOCATION
Whiteleys is located on Queensway, between the Queensway and Bayswater tube stations and Westbourne Grove. It's a great area, as Queensway itself is so busy and happening, and there are lots of places to shop and eat on Queensway and Westbourne Grove. It's also close to Hyde Park and Nottinghill Gate, so you can go shopping and then wander around some gorgeous parts of London.
OPENING HOURS
This is one main reason why I shop at Whiteleys - the late opening hours. London can be so frustrating with its early closings, but at Whiteleys you shop until about 9.30pm or later. This is especially great around Christmas...

Very cheap for central London
Advantages: Very central, good prices
Disadvantages: A bit rundown
...This hostel is very central, looking out on the British Museum in Bloomsbury, only minutes away from Oxford Street, Soho, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square - virtually the whole of central London on your doorstep, and all for the cheapest price going. It is located on Montague Street, and when I stayed there, 1998, it was about £15 per night or £75 per week. By comparison, the YHA hostel near Oxford Circus (the only other really super-central hostel in London) was £22 per night, with no weekly rate.
The tradeoff for the low price and central location is typical of London: the hostel is pretty crowded, with dorm rooms crammed with bunkbeds; and the building rather delapidated and worse-for-wear. However, if you can overlook these things and get used to living in very close quarters, it's great. But then, you have to be hardy to endure...

Central
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Food
...This hotel ideally located in the centre of London and is perfect for whether you are staying the capital for business for for pleasure. The central location means that it is extremely close to all of the capitals main attractions. Very close to the westend, it is perfect if you want to go and see a show. The rooms in this hotel are high class and are ideal for anyone, particularlly if you are travelling with your family. The food here isnt that bad, but there are plenty of of other places around to find a bit to eat. I wasnt to keen on the food but that was my personal opinion. The staff were also very helpful and I couldnt fault to qulity of serivce. A definite thumbs up!...

A night on the runway
Advantages: Convenient location, comfortable, excellent prices.
Disadvantages: Limited choice of food, poor quality of food and high prices.
...When the option arose for me to avail of two complimentary flight tickets to Male from London Heathrow with Sri Lankan Airlines through work my husband and I jumped at the change of returning to our honeymoon destination less than 12 months from when we were there previously, however, being located in the North meant that we had to get down to London having booked connecting flights separately when we had a schedule change from 0555 to 0920 we found that our flights now misconnected so we had to find a hotel to stopover on our return journey with only a few weeks until we departed.
On my last trip to London Heathrow I booked the Travelodge Heathrow Heston which is located on the M4 and at the time was the closest Travelodge available so I decided to look into obtaining a price for this hotel once more and was suprised to learn that...
