...This Review is for the Centre M.K which is a huge shopping centre in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
The shopping centre is managed in two parts, the first being the Centre MK and the second a place named Midsummer Place.
The actual opening date for the shopping centre was September 25th 1979 and has over 260 stores inside. This might have changed quite a lot since the current recession and stores shutting down.

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Too many to mention
...Very briefly as the wife of a man who was made redundant the thought of the Job Centre plus being helpful no longer exists.
As a mortgage holder and family with two school age children my husband was only entitled to Job Seeks Allowance (JSA). This was paid for 26 weeks and then after still not successful in securing employment, this was stopped. Because I work more than 20 hours a week (I am still only part time) I am expected to support the family and bills. My husband has never been asked how much I earn. This assessment is merely done of the hours I work and not the take home pay coming into the home.
Having never claimed any benefits at all before this (but we are in a recession as you all know) we enquired about training and extra help, but, alas, there was no entitlement apparently. As you only receive 5 minutes...

I am 47 years old and have never claimed a penny in benefits in my life. I have worked since I was 17 only taking 6 months maternity leave for each of my 2 children.
When I was made redundant on 6th July 2008, the last thing on my mind was signing on for job seekers allowance. However as time went on and it was clear I was not going to be able to get another job that easily I realised I would have to claim job seekers allowance in order to help us pay the bills and eat each month.
I first registered my claim on or around the 9th September.
I called the free phone number to register the claim and I found them very helpful and efficient. (or so I thought at the time)
They made me an appointment to see an advisor at Wembley Job centre on 17th September.

...Living in Dover means that we don't have too many facilities. Dover Leisure Centre is about the only sporting facility in Dover other than the football and rugby pitches.
Location
Dover Leisure Centre is located on Townwall Street in Dover which is pretty much on the seafront and within walking distance to the Port of Dover. It is also within walking distance of Dover town, Dover Priory Station and Pencester bus station.
Facilities
There are two swimming pools at Dover Leisure Centre. There is a main swimming pool which is 25 metres and also a learner / childrens pool. In the main pool, there are two lanes of the swimming pool which are sectioned off to create one slow, and one fast swimming lane.
The rest of the pool is then literally just open water where people can swim at their own leisure.

...The Jorvik center is if you didn't know, situated in the center of York, Yorkshire. Its one of the main attractions in the city and brings in hundreds of tourists and school visitors.
The Jorvik Centre (pronounced Yorvic), is a real acheaology site, where the Vikings of York lived thousands of years ago.
Its a museum with a twist though, as with "normal" museums, you walk around, you read signs and miss most things, especially if you have kids with you! But, this place is very different, when you enter, your taken into a "time machine", where you sit, and your told a short story, and a scientist takes us back in time to 975AD when the Vikings lived in York.

...The Sealife Centre in Scarborough is one of the town's most popular tourist attractions despite an admission price of £14 per adult. I visit Scarborough several times every year and had so far been put off by both the charges and the length of the queues at the door. I finally paid a visit to the Sealife Centre last summer (Saturday 18th July 2009), swayed by half price admission tickets and a cloud full of rain.
We arrived quite early, around 9.30am and the queues weren't too bad but despite this the check in process seemed to be frustrating slow and it still took us the best part of an hour to finally get inside. Once inside the doorway the reason for the delay became obvious, there were just two tills and no organised queue to either of them, so people were pushing in front of us and it was all rather chaotic. I am able to say that I have found their website very simple and easy to use. I visited the website every other day and found that I was applying for around 3-4 jobs a week just off their website (a little less now because of the economy.). This to any unemployed individual is good news. Especially for those who are desperate to get back into work unlike many benefit thieves who will do anything to get out of employment. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful with most of these applications but this was not down to the JobCentre.

Advantages: Helpful staff, good up to date website. Disadvantages: Long waits, queues for jobsearch machines.
...As a few of you will already know I have recently lost my job (good old credit crunch!) so I have been using the jobcentre website and the jobcentre visiting centre (store just isn't the right word is it "hello, i'd like a job please) and this review is based on the jobcentre in Harlow, Essex.
To sign up for jobseekers allowance I had to ring an 0800 number and get asked a number of questions (including pregnancy information - i'm not, gender, nationality, do I have the right to work here blah de blah) and this took around 30 minutes.
I was very pleased with the person I spoke with, he was very helpful and got through the questions as fast as possible. I had been told it could take up to 45 minutes but thankfully it was a little less.
Once I had finished giving him all the details I was told that I was eligible for jobseekers...
