De Vere hotel in the centre of Cambridge!
Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly
Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area
...take long to get back "home".
The rooms there start from about £110 but you can pay for for the suites with the four poster beds which are lovely. You do have to pay to park as well which is quite annoying, it is £14 a day which is quite expensive but is what you get with hotels in the city.
Cambridge itself has lots of great things to do, the shops are good and then of course there is all teh old...

...there are lots of really nice high street stores to keep you entertained. John Lewis is the main department store and this covers about 4 floors if I remember rightly and is a really nice John Lewis although very busy all the time. John Lewis is actually located in The Grand Arcade which is a covered shopping centre fairly new to Cambridge as it has only been open for a couple of years. This is nice...
