...Having 2 children and being a stay at home mummy, I often look for new places to visit to keep the children occupied. A friend mentioned the Ceramic Experience, to me and I had to investigate and see for myself. You can find the Ceramic experience On the road down to the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre and is directly opposite the Express by Holiday Inn. The entrance is through heavy double doors which is wide enough for a double buggy as well as wheelchairs. It is on floor and ground level making it was access and there is always a member of staff there to meet and welcome you with a smile. The Ceramic Experience has recently moved. I told her that my sister's wedding was coming up and I'd really like to take control of my hair so that it looked half decent for the photographs. She washed and trimmed my hair as normal and then added some l'Oreal Protective Hair Serum. Only a small amount, about the size of a grape. This was stroked in from the roots downwards and the hair then blow dryed until it was completely dry. Taking out a slim pair of black ceramic straighteners she then gently ran the blades down the top layer of hair from about half way down, where the kinks start, to the ends. Remington 2x Ceramic

Advantages: GHD quality for half the price
Disadvantages: I keep pressing the "OFF" button by mistake!

...So, like every other woman/girl I love GHD's-I used a friend's once and was hooked-hers were a gift, but they cost from £95 from selected hair salons. Kept umming and ahhing whether to fork out for some, in the meantime used other people's! When I was getting ready to go out one night, a friend had brought Remington 2x ceramic straightners round-I used these and could not tell the difference between GHD'S. Ok, these cost around £49.99 and you can get them from anywhere-Argos, Index etc. They heat up in around 10 seconds-it's only a few seconds more than GHD's anyway! They have ceramic plated irons, and are fairly slim, they have an on/off sliding button, and a red light appears when they are switched on-the only downfal about these straighteners is that when you are using them, your thumb may turn them off again, but this...

I looked around and saw these nicky clarke frizz control pair and thought they would be the ones. a) I have very frizzy hair b) They have a temperature control c) great price So lets take it one at a time, the ceramic plates smooth and straighten my hair even when I have no frizz ease or other serum on. SOLID CERAMIC Straighteners on a budget

...I bought these straighteners from QVC for about £20 when they had a tsv (todays special value) in December. I was a bit wary due to how cheap they were, surely they wouldn't be any good? I have been pleasantly surprised however. The Company which distribute these straighteners is called HoMedics, Complementary Healthcare Company in Manchester www.complements.co.uk. They are a reputable company who sell various health and beauty products including magnetic therapy things (also sold on QVC). When I discovered this my confidence in the product increased. The straighteners are made in China (as most other straighteners are) and distributed by HoMedics through QVC and other online sellers. Advantages: Solid Ceramic Plates, Digital Control Heat Pad, Excellent Value

Smooth looking straight hair

Advantages: easy to use and cheap to buy

Advantages: Heats up quickly
Disadvantages: Takes a while to cool down before you can put away.

...Excellent Straightener, heats up very quickly, no waiting. Has an on off switch on the handle so that you can wait until the last minute to switch on and heat up. It also signals to you when ready to use with a beeping noise and flashing LED. The ceramic plates are hotter than others I have used and very versitile, can be used to make soft curls, tight curls or to add volumn to your style. The straighten effect is long lasting and does not require much effort to use, the beauty of heating up quickly is that you can refresh your style easily later in the day should you need to. Overall I would recommend these compared to others that I have tried....
