Cheap Chain Hotel in Lithuanian capital

Advantages: Cheap modern hotel with English speaking staff
Disadvantages: Food was not great, no excercise facilities, bit homogenous

...The Scandic chain of hotels is owned by the Hilton Group and as such the Scandic Neringa is a modern standard hotel in Lithuania's capital Vilnius. The hotel is much like any other in the Hilton chain, with a few minor 'twists'. There is no gym, no swimming pool, but there is a sauna. The sauna is on the top floor and is free for guests. Apparently it is fairly common practice to have a 'massage' in the sauna. Yes one of those massages. Not one where your back gets rubbed, well much anyway. The hotel has 60 rooms and is located in the centre of the business district. I can't say what all the hotel rooms were like, I only stayed in one. This was a global standard room, nice bathroom, mini bar, TV with English channels and twin beds. It was clean and equipped so that it could have been almost any 3* hotel anywhere in the world. I...

Best mainstream GB budget hotel chain

Advantages: Good value. Pay on arrival or departure. Adjacent pub/restaurant.

...For my work within Great Britain, I have switched from staying mainly in Travel Inns to mainly in Premier Lodges. Premier Lodge has now expanded to sufficient locations to make this viable - currently over 110 open and 10 or so opening soon, I believe. (None in Northern Ireland, which is why my title says GB not UK.) Like most Travel Inns and Travelodges, the Premier Lodges I have visited have functional, clean accommodation blocks with identical rooms and standard facilities - bed, chairs, desk, coffee/tea, some with phones, bath/shower/WC. Apart from some metropolitan locations, all the chains seem to charge between £39 and £50, and Premier Lodge are no exception, starting at £42. Advantages: Cheap, clean and safe
Disadvantages: Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like the real world

If I was going to Phoenix just to sightsee, I would have chosen a haunted hotel like the Hotel San Carlos, but I was invited to Leprecon 29 and it was held at the Embassy Suites--Phoenix North location. Generally, it's harder for me to warm up to corporate hotels. They usually give courteous service, yet it is impersonal. The staff frequently lacks the pride of ownership an independently-run establishment does. Although the Phoenix North location is a big chain hotel with cookie-cutter decorated rooms, its amenities and perks make it stand out refreshingly different from others. ...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

My opinion of MacDonalds hotels has gone down, I held my wedding reception at one of their previous hotels (The Regency Dolphin hotel - Great Yarmouth). I thought that the service we received was overall good. So when we decided to have a weekend away we naturally choose MacDonald Hotels again. MIstake. Apon arriving on a Friday we found that we had to push our way through a wedding party that was going on to reach the receoption desk.
