Here are the homes, quirky and eclectic, that used to grace the pages of Ideal Home before it was 'modernised'. Hand-made lampshades sit side-by-side with original artwork and crafts. Advantages: Location, Cost, Surroundings, Decor..EVERYTHING!
Disadvantages: Clothes Storage Space and Congestion Charge Zone are the only possible niggles, but hardly even worth mentioning.

...we found. A VERY stylish, well designed hotel room. Complete with Plasma Screen, Coffee/Tea/Kettle, Hairdryer/Mirror, all cleverly designed into a purpose built unit. A corner chaise longue. And a very comfy bed adorned with thee big cushions (each labelled "Rock", "Scissor, "Paper") The wall had a London Scene Mural almost plastered into it, again Very Stylish and Very Impressive. Each room has two small safes to store your valuables, a mini-fridge (with complementary bottled water and milk) and air conditioning. Only down side possibly being a lack of storage for clothes. Bathroom was well equipped too, with Large Shower cubicle and Big Shower Drench Head, and a large self-demisting mirror over the sink area. Advantages: A collision of two extremes of the Pixies

.... Follow it up with the studio releases 'Come on Pilgrim' and 'Surfer Rosa' and you really will have been lucky enough to experience the birth and growth of a legend. CD 2 is completely different. Here Charles has recorded the vocals to 13 numbers and let the Two Pale Boys do some rather experimental things with them. Trumpets, violin and an array of electronic effects have been added to create an exciting experience. If CD1 is to be listened to in a dingy bedsit with a cold beer and dreams of greatness, CD2 needs a chaise longue, John Lennon shades, good merlot and a gauloise. Juxtaposing the frenetic energy of 'Nimrod's Son' with a slow brass band is a pretty brave and surprisingly absorbing move. ...daily passes new boundaries - in the beginning there was Ground Force and it washed up, put a bra on and came inside to admire le chaise longue - rechristened Changing Rooms and fronted by Carol Smillie, this has been a runaway, overwhelming hit like you wouldn't believe and is totally absorbing, but you know why don't you? The formula goes like this - two couples (and there's been some pretty tenuous versions of couples I can tell you) swap house keys for the day (Mrs dave27, you better get to bed - this could be a little racey for you - oh, I see, okay, Mrs dave27 you can take the leather off now ... your knuckles I meant) and make over a room in the other party's house in two days for 500 quid. They can't see it until it's finished and each couple gets a designer (well, they say they are, but I have my doubts) to help them realise... Read review

...ROOM We had a standard Junior Suite, which was more than adequate for our needs including 2 x queen beds, chaise longue, sky TV, balcony, dressing area and bathroom with powerful shower. All Junior Suites appeared to be very similar, with 16 to each block, positioned in the middle of the resort. FOOD There is the buffet restaurant, 4 a la cartes, beach bar and poolside bar. They all did wonderful food but our favourite was the Japanese, closely followed by the buffet (the fillet mignon and pancakes are a must-have!) POOL The pool is split into two sections, separated by a waterfall. The water is plesant and not full of chlorine like many pools! The deepest part is about 1.6m, and the shallowest about 60cm, but there is no problem swimming and it was rarely busy. POOLSIDE There are plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas, gazeebos and hammocks... ...would also like to go to Egypt in the centuries AD id like to have met Cleopatra and see the building of the pyramids. Although everything was a bit weird back then culture wise and all i still think that this time i would get out of the box and have a wander about, i dont think the egyptians were that hostile. Id probably do something weird like take them a present of something from our time just to see what they would make of it. Id like to give cleopatra some make up or something, a maybelline mascara haha that would be funny. I would like to also visit the ancient roman and greek cultures just because i really love everything about them. Id like to go and wear one of those bedsheet things with some leaves and grass in me do and laze about on a one armed sofa eating grapes. It was about 28m squared (according to research) and very tastefully furnished with thick carpet, fashionable chaise-longue type couch, nice stylish desk with very comfy swivel-ergonomic chair plenty of storage space with hangars and some very chic and effective lighting fitments, including a well lit full length mirror. It was obvious that I had been given a room upgrade. Definitely a step above what I was expecting. There was a pleasant view out the window over the Grand Canal which is at the back of the hotel and lots of natural light (an absolute must for me, nothing more dismal than having to put the lights on in the middle of the day...) The characterisation of Dorian is rather hazy and the characterisation of Wotton is wonderful. The back drop is bleak and gets bleaker…so one would be forgiven for thinking that none of us would really enjoy this novel. But I did. I loved it. I loved it because Will Self uses the deftest touch with his writing such that he can swing the reader from sipping coffee with the well-to-do stretched out on a chaise-longue somewhere on the Chelsea Embankment to snorting cocaine in the filthiest of public toilets in Peckham and back again with the twist of his ink-stained little finger. The health articles are a valuable part of the site, it's a good place to seek out information for health issues and hopefully pick up some advice along the way. Chaise Longue - An agony aunt section, pretty much the same format as found in glossy magazines but often with a focus on mental health issues. To be honest, I can't work up any enthusiasm for this section, the solutions to readers problems seem to be plug after constant plug for related books you can buy on the site. What a coincidence! More interactivity comes in the form of readers submitting their true stories, whether they be funny, sad, serious, whatever. I'm sorry, this just reminds me so much of the sort of magazines my Gran used to buy... Read review
