Advantages: It's all about shoes Disadvantages: It is perhaps a bit too far fetched
...I was walking around the supermarket looking for a book to read and to be honest the picture of the shoes and the title of this book made me take a look at what it was about.
When I read the blurb on the back and saw it was about someone who had a cupboard full of shoes I was instantly interested. Having well over 50 pairs of shoes myself I felt this was a book written just for me!
This book is written by Lucy Hepburn, this is I believe her first book and I would be interested to read another. Lucy is a self confessed shoe-aholic and used to dance before she decided to become a writter.
The story is based on a girl called Amy, when her boyfriend thinks she is having an affiar he decides to sell all her shoes on ebay to teach her a lesson. He sells all her shoes while she is at a music festival so all she has to wear is a pair...
Advantages: May be the best contemporary white female blues singer and acoustic guitarist you'll ever hear. Disadvantages: None
...1981 she went back to her roots via the traditional music record label Rounder Records, and from then until now Block has recorded more than a dozen blues albums.
In 1995 her album When a Woman Gets the Blues won the W. C. Handy Award for Best Acoustic Blues Album of the Year, and she was selected by the Martin Guitar Co. to endorse their strings in a national ad campaign. In 1998 she won the W. C. Handy Award again, this time as Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year.
?HIGHHEELED BLUES,? THE ALBUM:
To me, though, Block was at her best in her very first anthology of blues standards, long before the whole world would learn just how good she was, and maybe even before she would even realize herself just how far she would go.
The album HighHeeled Blues was released in 1981 on Rounder Records as an LP and re-released in...

Advantages: Catchy , Makes You Wanna Dance! Disadvantages: None!
...Broken Heels is the latest single from Alexandra Burke ; the second single to be released from her debut album , Overcome.
First of all , to those of you who don't know who Alexandra Burke , well I tell you a little bit about her. Alexandra was the winner of the fifth series of the British singing competition , The X Factor. Her prize for winning the show was a record deal worth a massive £1 million! However , since then she has signed a £3 million , five album record deal in America. In the past few months , she has done amazingly well to think that before The X Factor , she was working as a waitress.
When I first heard this song on the album , I wasn't too keen on it. Yes , I thought it was ok , but it wasn't one of the best songs I'd ever heard. Fast forward a couple of months , and the song is released as a single ; I just...
Advantages: some amusing scenes, good british cast Disadvantages: seen it all before
...HighHeels and Lowlifes is set in London so obviously it has criminals and crime as it's main plot. However unlike the wave of bad british crime films we've had to endure in the last year this film actually has a good cast and decent laughs.
Minnie Driver plays Shannon, a hospital nurse who's burned out in her job. Her american friend is a struggling actress Frances (Mary McCormack). One night they overhear a gang robbing a bank thanks to a modern artist boyfriend and one totally inept young criminal. Instead of turning a blind eye they try to blackmail the robbers into getting some of the big loot that has been stolen. Naturally things don't go to plan and soon they find themsleves up against an old pro criminal and have two detectives on their tale.
The film is directed by Mel Smith and he manages to make this an entertaining...
Advantages: Delicious! Disadvantages: Can only eat in small quantities; the price
...of the highest quality presented in chic, stylish packaging."
It all sounds rather highbrow for someone who likes the mass produced confectionary in supermarkets. Does minimalist indulgence mean there's not much indulgence to be had with their products? Still, perhaps despite the above information I still had a box of their champagne truffles to plough through.
~ The packaging ~
These Champagne truffles were intended as a Christmas gift box. Never having seen any other Kshocolat products for sale, I can't compare these to anything else in their range. These were packaged in a small square cardboard box, the bottom half being a dark brown, the top half being a cream colour. I've included a few photos if you're interested, although I apologise for one being somewhat out of focus. There was a label on the bottom of the box containing...
Advantages: Good value, a little goes a long way, works Disadvantages: Old fashioned image which may not appeal to youngsters
...With age every part of me seems to be gradually giving up the ghost. I finally gave in and saw a podiatrist, come chiropodist, about some recent foot problems. The chiropody treatment was mostly cosmetic but I have started suffering with increasingly rough skin on my feet and do find it difficult to get to grips with this. In fact I could probably sand down a rough piece of wood with my heels, so I guess you catch my drift.
In the past I have tried Scholl cream for cracked skin on my feet but with only a limited success. The Chiropodist recommended that before I visit again I tried Flexitol Heel Balm. He told me that due to the products oily consistency it worked much better on troublesome foot skin than the Scholl. I guess he was hoping his work would be easier next visit.
I purchased a 56g or 2 ounce tube from the nearby chemist...

Review of Flexitol Heel Balm
...I was fairly recently at a wedding where there were bottles of bubbles left on tables for guests to pick up.
These bottles of bubbles were in a small green bottle (plastic) 9cm tall, containing about ½ oz liquid. The bottle shaped like a champagne bottle with a gold coloured lid. There is a pink label on it saying bubbles and showing a picture of the rainbow wand.
Twist open the lid it is attached to a collar with a plastic fixer piece. The lid came off fairly easily. There is a little plastic wand inside the bubbles. Dipping the wand into the liquid the soap bubbble mix attached itself to the wand. Blowing the bubbles was easy they made lots and lots of small bubbles.
When we had all assembled to watch the bride and groom throw the bouquet that?s when a lot of people blew the bubbles instead of confetti.
These bubbles...
Advantages: Provide cushioning for the balls of your feet Disadvantages: Not great with very strappy high heeled sandals
...During a night out in my home city of Newcastle, one of Europe's greatest 'party' cities I had the extremely unfortunate and immensely painful experience of throbbing and pounding in the balls of my feet. I have worn highheels for some years now and have never ever understood why a lot of my friends need to take their shoes off as soon as they get in to the taxi.............however on this fateful night I knew exactly what they meant.
I could barely walk across the Swing Bridge and looked like a drunken pre-Christmas reveller, you know the sort who only come out during the season of goodwill and can't handle their drink!! I was stumbling along on my heeled boots, highly embarassed that I looked like a unprofessional 'goer-outer', not the seasoned reveller that I am!!
That was the Friday, by the Sunday I could just about bear...

Review of Scholl Party Feet
Advantages: comfortable, better fitting shoes at reasonable prices Disadvantages: limited range, most of them are quite ugly
...a pain again, and struggling to get anything matching the comfort of those old scone shoes. Trinny and Susannah would have a fit, but once again I turned to the Shoe Tailor for help.
It was easy to find them on the web and request a catalogue, and I was actually pleasantly surprised that after eight years, their range of shoes has certainly improved. In fact I found three or four pairs that looked almost fashionable! I duly made my husband measure my feet with the tape they sent, thinkly glumly that I would probably find my feet were still their widest EEEE fitting (the range goes from ?D? which is a standard fit, the sort you find in shops) through to E, EE, EEE, and EEEE for those of us with pancake feet. He followed the instructions painstakingly: I had to stand with my heels against the wall while he fiddled with the tape. After...
