Championship Manager
Advantages: Good game, fun, good value
Disadvantages: Boring after a while
...The Championship Manager series have been by far the best football management games and have provided hours of amusement for footie fans everywhere. Championship Manager 00/01 is very similar to the original Championship Manager though the manager has more control. You can interact with the media, fine players, hire coaches and physios and use many more functions. So if you think you can do better than you’re teams current manager Championship Manager is for you.
Championship Manager is very realistic and for wanabee football managers this is the closest they will get to the real thing. You can do all the things club managers can do, buy and loan players, beg the board for more money, apply for different jobs at different clubs and even complain about the ref!
Championship Manager 00/01 needs a lot more skill than...

Championship Manager
Advantages: Great game, lots of detail, quicky than other CM's to play
Disadvantages: lack of natural sunlight and real graphics
...For people who do not know, Championship Manager is a football management simulation. I'll try to tell you what the game is like in my review.
---What is CM2?---
Championship manager is a management simulation of many different football teams, leagues and players, including the Spanish, French, Dutch and English and Scottish leagues. You can also manage international teams but you must prove that you are worthy first. You must control aspects such as the transfers, some elements of financial business, tactics, team selection, watching the match and organising friendlies. CM2 has been around now for about 5-6 years so it is quite old so you will see Gascoigne playing for Rangers and England, and Owen as just a young player for the under 21 England side.
---Graphics---
The graphics on this game are good. That is because there aren...

Championship Manager 01/02
Advantages: The greatest managerial game ever!
Disadvantages: Disadvantages?!
...When the Premiership was born back in 1992, it soon became one of the biggest leagues in the world?then all of a sudden, it gave birth, theoretically, to one of the biggest computer games in the world?that being of course, Championship Manager.
Being a student with plenty of time on his hands!! I recently brushed the dirt of this version of the game from the 2001/2002 season from Sports Interactive's Championship Manager series for the PC - argued by many as being one of the best versions, despite it's lack of graphical improvement from the previous season?this time round though the gameplay seems to be better.
First off, and something that affects the game most of all, is that Championship Manager 01/02 implements the new regulated EU transfer system, that comes into play about a month after you begin - meaning basically that...

Championship Manager is a real winner
Advantages: Great sense of realism, terrific database size,
Disadvantages: None
...My first championship manager experience came when by chance, i saw championship manager 3 and fell in love immediately, for a couple of years i was addicted to the game. I came across championship manager 03/04 and bought it straight away. The details and database is simply amazing, not to mention the ease of using the menu's, the options, the realism and the overall feel of managing a football club, albeit on your very own PC. Champ Man 03/04 offers a humungous choice of countrys to manage in, from South Africa to South Korea, Scotland to Serbia, Israel to Indonesia, you will never find enough time to manage in each league.
Championship manager is the ultimate football managing experience, the transfer system is spot on, with transfer windows, deadlines, negotiations, wheeling, dealing and stealing. Champ Man 03/04 also offers...

The true Champion of Championship Managers
Advantages: Addictive, Realistic, how long have you got
Disadvantages: Needs so much from the poor computer and can suffer slowdown.
...Well as some of you know, and I'm sure some of you don't that one of my favourite games in the Championship Manager series. These games have been around now for way over a decade and after the humble beginnings on the BBC computer, Amiga and other such models, the latest Championship Manager 4 has just hit the shelves, and I am lucky enough to have got a copy so here goes my review.
Championship Manager 4 as with all of the previous games, relies heavily on the accuracy of the statistics rather more than any other feature. As a result, the players are very true to life, the clubs attitudes and staff attitudes also realistic and amazingly so are the smaller details like average crowd figures and the like. As a result, for anyone who is not into this sort of sports sim, then I guess this game isn't for you. For the other 99...

Championship manager 5 was completely ruined by a few bugs.
Advantages: Easy to navigate around the game.
Disadvantages: lots of bugs in the game ruins the enjoyment
...Totally blew my mind for like the first 3 months as i was glued to my pc, however as soon as 1 problem occured it was quickly followed by several more which (in my opinion) made it impossible to play.
I am a huge fan of Football management games but championship manager 5 was a huge disappointment for me and a few of my freinds who also purchased the game.
The problem with the game is that it is full of 'bugs' by which i mean faults such as after 1 season of winning the treble with Arsenal my fans all hated me and wanted me gone, then when i went to play ac milan in a cup match all my players were for some reason ineligible to play and so the game drafted up players who werent part of my squad to play for me (i lost).
For these reasons i felt this game was a let down however do not let this put you off the other games in...

Championship Manager 2001
Advantages: Fantastic new features.
Disadvantages: Boring match screen.
...Championship Manager 2000/2001 is a fantastic update from the 1999/2000 version. I have heard many people say that Eidos, who created this classic game, are making easy money by just reusing the same game layout but just updating the players. This maybe true but personally I don't really care.
The game is loved by everyone who plays it and it is very addictive. The idea of the game is simply the same idea of a manager in real life. You take charge of your favourite team from one of the 26 leagues featured on the game, then choose your starting team and tactics, then compete to win the league and cup competitions. The game features a realistic transfer system and your club's bank statement so you can purchase new players to build up your squad. The actual match layout is quite boring though. It is simply flashing text commentary...

Championship Manager
Advantages: Very exciting and enjoyable. Also very realistic!
Disadvantages: Average amount of knowledge required.
...Championship Manager,
After buying championship Manager 3, and thoroughly enjoying it, I rushed out to buy championship manager 00/01 the day it was released. The game cost £24.99 but is worth every penny.
The first thing I noticed when I installed the game was that there was a staggering, 26 new leagues added and that there is alot more players from countries like Andorra. Another surprising element to this game is that managers can control non-league teams and that for every team there is a list of all background staff.
This game is for people who have a lot of time to play it and are reasonably patient. Although the game is meant to be fun some knowledge will be needed for signings, there are alot of players who look write but just dont fit the bill.
Beware this game is extremely addictive. Especially when you are having...

Championship Manager 2
Advantages: Addictive; Nostalgic; Ahead of its time.
Disadvantages: Not fully compatible with XP or Vista.
...If you want an accurate, absorbing and realistic football management simulation, you need look no further than the Championship Manager series. All of the titles in the series are good but CM 2, in my opinion, is the best of the bunch.
Ok, so the game is 12 years old, but time has been a good servant to CM2, and it remains as playable today as it was upon its release.
Like the more recent games in the Championship Manager series, the player gets the whole immersive experience of being a football manager, from selecting which English or Scottish league club to manage through trading players on the transfer market to overseeing the club's finances.
However, you would be forgiven for thinking that a game released more than a decade ago would pale in comparison to more modern offerings such as Football Manager 2007, and of course in...
