Chanel Chance - A Fragrance That Lifts The Spirits!

...Chanel Chance Eau De Parfum I recently completed a review of Chanel Allure Sensuelle which I adore. However I realised that perhaps I have become stuck in my ways and should perhaps try something new. I decided to stay with the same perfume house, as I think that on the whole they produce quality products. I had a gift voucher for Boots to go towards it and so decided to splash out. After spending a couple of visits getting samples on card, I returned and asked if I could try Chanel Chance on my person. I could still smell it on my clothes that evening and liked it a lot and so I returned a few days later to make a purchase. What's it like? I find this part really difficult to describe, but would say that it is a fresh scent and one that is perhaps more suitable for daytime wear. It comes in a pretty pink box...

Chanel, Coco Mademoselle

Advantages: Suitable for day or evening wear
Disadvantages: costly

...I have always liked the Chanel range of perfumes but felt that because they are quite heavy and spicey they are only really suitable for evening time. However, recently Chanel have launched a lighter more flowery perfume called Coco Mademoselle. Because it is quite pricey at between £45 and £60 a bottle I could not justify buying it for myself. So I was delighted when my staff who obviously think I am just a wonderful boss bought me some for Christmas!! This fragrance appears to appeal to both male and females as I have had many compliments whilst wearing it. It also has great staying power, usually most perfumes will dissappear half way through the day however, I find that I prefer to use it as an evening perfume probably due to the fact that it is so expensive and I want it to last as long as possible. Chanel No. 5 - eternal Femininity.

Advantages: sensual and feminine floral hart, good staying powder
Disadvantages: aldehydes - not everyone is used to this smell; can be found old-fashioned

...Chanel No. 5 will always remain a controversial perfume. Although used and praised for decades it's still a love or hate fragrance. I think it's because of aldehydes, the most important constituents of this fragrance. They possess a waxy, fatty smell that often makes think on washed and dried clothe. Aldehydes are found in nature (for example in a citrus peel), but never in amounts used in Chanel No. 5. That makes this smell a bit unnatural from one side, but it also gives an interesting exotic twist. In my opinion EDP is much softer than EDT version - the aldehydes are less sharp and the floral bouquet is more prominent. On my skin it starts with a fresh citrus note that slightly fades into a floral hart of orange blossom, rose and jasmine. An ultimate feminine bouquet, but modernized with waxy sharpness of the aldehydes...

...If you are not up on perfumes and need to buy one for your partner to apologise for the latest boo boo, (we all seem to have those even if we never know know what it is. For some reason we have to guess what we have done wrong and, of course, we never guess right or even get close.) you cannot go wrong with No 5. For one thing she will know that you did not get it on the cheap so it cost a bit (a measure of your sadness at upsetting her). On the other you can rely on the fact that she will not dislike it and will happily carry it around in her bag and show it off to other female friends even if she has no intention of wearing it. I would call this having 'safe' perfume....

Advantages: A fragrence which although long lasting does not kill your sense of smell

...I was given some vouchers for House of Fraser a year or two ago and decided I would use them to get some new perfume as I had recently finished a couple of bottles. So I decided to look at what was 'hot' on the makeupalley site and coco mademoiselle was in the top five so I thought I would look into that. Turns out it is an incredibly popular fragrance. Apparently Chanel designed this perfume because they felt that people viewed their Coco perfume as being for a more mature market and they thought they were missing out on the younger section of society so they decided to use Coco as inspiration and redesign it with a fresh new take. Coco Mademoiselle - classy perfume

...The bottomline is that Chanels Coco Mademoiselle is a wondeful scent which exudes pure class. It is generally more expensive than other perfumes and you won't often catch it on sale or in a deal. But its worth it, because its not a trendy, sickly sweet or seasonal scent. You will be paying more because its a big brand name but also because its a classic. A much lighter, fresher and younger scent than chanels no.5 and others it is just the right thing for a young, sexy and classy scent. An ideal signature scent it is appropriate for day and evening wear and is not limited to seasons. Also ideal as a gift for wives or girlfriends - there aren't many people who don't love this perfume - she is bound to love this one!!...
