...The Five news is on at various times. I tend to mainly watch the Lunchtime news at noon. It lasts for half an hour. However, the news bulletins are broadcast almost every hour (eg 8:55pm) which can be annoying during a film, I have to admit. They are actually called "News Updates" and the news is very brief. Perhaps 3 stories are quickly covered and they play this irritating music in the background. The evening news is on at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Kirsty Young - infamous for leaving Channel Five for ITV and then moving back again! - presents these in-depth looks at the latest stories. Charlie Stayt sometimes presents as well. Advantages: All Ranges Of Wrestling Old and New, Something For Everyone

...First off if you are not a wrestling fan then don't bother reading this review and leaving me a comment about how you don't know what I am on about. The Wrestling Channel, or TWC as it is better known, is, of course, a channel that shows nothing but?.Wrestling. Of course, you don't find WWE on here, oh no, that's too big and popular so that's broadcast on a popular and more well known channel, Sky Sports, but TWC is the only channel that shows TNA, the second best federation from America. Milk as Milk Should Be (Tesco Finest Channel Island Milk)

Advantages: delicious
Disadvantages: more expensive, slightly more calories

...£1.50 for 4l (2x 2l) bottles of Tesco Pure (own-brand Cravendale equivalent) filtered milk which I normally buy. The biggest advantage is the taste. I find that gold top milk is too creamy to put in in my tea or coffee but great on cereals, and for pudding making purposes. What about the health though? One of the dooyoo reviews is titled "die happy". Is Channel Island Milk as bad for you as it sometimes is declared? Gold top milk has more fat than a standard full milk - 5.2g per 100ml instead of 3.6g (semi-skimmed has 1.6g, and I won't even mention skimmed, because it's such a dishwater than it's not even worth talking about). It's still only about 5% fat, though which is pretty low fat as far as food in general is concerned. Review of Tesco Finest Channel Island Milk

My journey through the Channel Tunnel

Advantages: 35 minutes crossing time. Quicker to continue your journey the other side.
Disadvantages: More expensive and no restaurants.

...I have crossed the Channel on many occasions, both using the ferries and the Channel Tunnel. I prefer to use the Tunnel but I think that it is better to buy the tickets before you travel as I have found it cheaper than buying them at the terminus. Unfortunately there is no where to buy food and drink on the train and so it is advisable to buy a take-away meal/drinks/snacks from the tax-free shops in the waiting area before you board. Both the English and French customs are on the departing side of the Channel, therefore when you disembark there are no customs to go through. I have found it quite easy to drive on and off the train, as you are marshalled to a compartment for the duration of your journey. You can however, walk along the train using access doors . The Best way to Cross the Channel

Advantages: easy to use, quickest
Disadvantages: Nothing to do during journey , lacks personal touch

...It is getting to be that time of year again. I do travel regularly to Europe on business outside of the Summer peak period and enjoy touring the continent by car for a couple of weeks. All this cannot be done without crossing the Channel and this means about 12 channel crossings a year. I do tend to prefer the Eurotunnel service for my business trips when time is the most important factor and of course as my company picks up the bill the higher fare does not tend to bother me so much. I have also used the Ferries frequently and over Easter 2001 we used the new SeaCat service which has replaced the discontinued Hovercraft service. As I am a relatively seasoned Channel crosser I thought I would take the opportunity to share my views on the different services and justify my preference for the Tunnel. Review of England to France - Channel Tunnel

Channel 5 Madness

Advantages: good fun, great presenter, some good songs and guests you get into the spirit of it
Disadvantages: the monkey, Danielle Nichols, mostly B-rated celebs

...Night Fever is on Channel 5 from 6:50pm til 7:45pm on Saturdays. It is great fun to watch, as it looks as if the people involved are loving every minute too. It is masterfully presented by Madness frontman and long-time stalwart of pop music, Suggs. He is assisted by the rather annoying Danielle Nichols of CITV fame. The show is basically a boys versus girls karaoke competition, where teams of often B-rated celebs compete against each other. Occasionally, you get someone interesting, but let's face it, you're more likely to get Kirsten O' Brien from CBBC or someone you vaguely recognise from an Australian soap opera. But this is Channel 5 after all and I doubt the budget for this programme is very high. ...Th Biography channel is a relatively new channel which is available on sky digital, and to tell you the truth I can’t get enough of it. It has the biographies of famous people who may be still alive or unfortunately no longer with us. They have had some really good programmes on people Malcolm X, Calvin Klein and more.
