...Overall this is an excellent product at a very good price of £301.00 delivered by Pixmania on time. However, the first hurdle to overcome is the ordering system on the Pixmania web site. This insisted on keeping in our basket a previous camcorder we had purchased from Pixmania (and was stolen) a few years ago. It took a phone call to their customer service department to sort this out - when we finally managed to find a telephone number to call. The second hurdle we have still to overcome. The camcorder should have arrived with a Micro SD card, but this was missing. Another phone call told us we should return everything in its original packaging and await a replacement. This was impractical and very inconvenient as my wife wanted to take the camcorder to Spain for a wedding, and in two weeks time to China. After a lot of persuasion...

Advantages: Small, easy to use, uses a hard drive so no tape or disc changes
Disadvantages: Supplied battery life, difficult to keep steady on high zoom

...I was looking for a camcorder to use primarily for holidays and family moments. I have bought this camcorder for that use only. when you buy the JVC Everio GZMG21EK you get the following items:- The camcorder itself, A battery and charger, a lens cap, Shoulder strap, instructions & guarantees, AV cables, a USB cable, a remote control (with battery) and a disc of software. ( I bought mine over the internet so couldnt haggle in the shop) The camcorder is silver in colour and i cant believe how small it actually is. It fits perfectly into my hand and is not heavy at all. The camcorder uses a 20 gb hardrive as the recording medium rather than the tapes or discs alot of the other types do. A great beginners camcorder from JVC

Advantages: Has all the features you would want for a beginners camcorder
Disadvantages: When light levels are low the picture can become a little jerky and grainy.

The camcorder has a nice range of digital effects on the camcorder itself, which are very useful if you want to add interesting effects like screen wipes and fades or black and white and sepia without having to edit the tape through your computer. Editing on a computer is very easy to do using the software that came with the camcorder, and allows you to take stills straight of the video as well as being able to order the clips and add text where you want. One of the nice features with this camcorder is that it doubles as a reasonable quality digital still camera which can store photos either directly onto the tape or on an SD or mutli-media memory card. Since you dont need media ie DVD's or tapes this camcorder very good value for money. The GZ-MG70 has a 30GB hard disk which can record for over 7 hours of ultra fine DVD quality, which is near broadcast quality. Or 14 hours of normal quality. It can also be used as a web cam with up to 37.5 hours max recording time. The battery life is comparable with other camcorders, I havent yet run it non stop from full charge to empty in a single go yet. But my brother borrowed it and said it was about the same as his Samsung one. If you cant affrod the JVC GZ-MG70 go for the JVC GZ-MG60 they are the same expept for the recording time, the JVC GZ-MG60 only has a 20GB hard drive wich...

...ive been using this camcorder for a while now and i love it. the picture quality with this camcorder is amazing, with the "super hi-rez" lens, and it is so easy to use, even for a tecnophobe like me! the viewing screen is a nice size, about 2.5", and makes filming easy. its in full colour. the zoom is ok but with only a 10xoptical zoom it could be better. it has 300xdigital zoom. the buttons are all a nice size and have a clear function. its really easy to connect it up to the tv or pc (via a usb conection) to transfer the video too, the transfer to a pc is also very fast. ive used it to get video of my dogs and children and its been great, the pictures are always clear and the sound is good too (has 3DNR). it does just as well with fast moving action as it does with slower occasions, and the quality of the still images is...
