Disadvantages: Lack of comfort, confusing, should be an Olympic walking event venue

...aircraft you can eventually gain access through another much more thorough security check to seats to wait for boarding instructions. If like us you were 4 hours early for your flight then this terminal is close to hell on earth. What on earth are the airport owners thinking of? It's nothing short of barbaric. Heaven help you if you are ill, elderly or with children. The national airport of Gambia in west Africa puts one of Europe's most modern airports to shame. In fact, it's enough to put you off visiting Paris ever again....

Radisson SAS 4 ****Hotel Charles De Gaulle Airport

Advantages: Near Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport
Disadvantages: Situated in a business area

...There is a free shuttle service running from the airport terminals and vice versa, however they are only small and only carry around 7 people at a time. The hotel is situated in a business area, so you can not really walk around to see nearby villages as it is really quiet and a bit eerie after dark. The hotel itself is clean and tidy,we had trouble to start off with as our keycard would not work to open our room, so had to be allocated another keycard and another room, this keycard also did not work so we were allocated a third card. Check in however was quick, the shuttle service should in my opinion be larger to carry more passengers as some people had to wait for the next one. ...An interesting point to note is that Charles De Gaulle was quite well known for his dislike of the English!:) Anyway, jokes aside, I flew to this airport last summer for a short holiday at Disneyland Paris (I have placed a flight review under 'BMI Baby') and, like at most airports, the experience was not pleasant! CHECK-IN For the return leg of the journey was somewhat confusing. The check-in hall is vast and, like most of the airport, seems to work in a sort of circle. The main problem was that there was not sufficient space to queue. Whichever way the queue wen away fromt he desk it seemed to stick out into a busy area, with frustrated travellers desperately trying to navigate the airport with huge trolleys of cases. Advantages: you can leave to almost anywhere in Europe, good shops
Disadvantages: miles and miles to walk

Why You Must Avoid This Airport At All Costs

Advantages: Good connections to many destinations
Disadvantages: Too difficult to navigate, not suitable for disabled, badly signposted, filthy toilets.

...Paris CDG is honestly the WORST airport I have ever visited. Getting around is a nightmare, security takes too long, the signage is bad, facilities are poor, prices are expensive and the staff surly and unhelpful. I have transferred on and off flights via Paris CDG many times whilst flying to and from the USA from Scotland. Here is a typical experience: We arrive by plane from Edinburgh and are taken by bus to the terminal. We then stand in a huge queue on a stairwell waiting for a bus to another terminal. Nearby TV screens don't appear to be working so nobody is sure which terminal they need. My husband asks a member of the Air France staff who is standing around nearby with a walkie-talkie. She shrugs and says something rapidly in French which we don't understand. After 25 minutes the bus arrives but it is still not clear...

The Blue Girl - Charles De Lint

Advantages: Original story and quirky interesting characters
Disadvantages: Main characters are teenagers so may not appeal to more mature readers

...on Lord of the Rings fantasy experience then this probably isn't for you. However I loved the Lord of the Rings and still found this entertaining if a much watered down version of the usual books in this genre, which understandibly it has to be considering the audience that it is aimed at. Amazon have stated the age group for this novel is 12-16 years. But I would really say this would be for the older end of the teenage market as some of the themes dealt with are not really for young readers. If you enjoy urban fantasy then I think you will find this an entertaining read. As well as writing, Charles De Lint is also a Celtic Folk musician together with his wife Maryann. He has written over 60 books so far. He was born in the Netherlands and currently lives in Ottawa, Canada. Although I haven't read any of his other books, apparently...
