...This innovative series was the brainchild of part chef, part mad scientist (all food enthusiast) Heston Blumenthal. Head chef at one of the world's top restaurant's, The Fat Duck, Blumenthal has made a name for himself in ambitious and experimental cookery. This reputation is part of what made me watch this interesting series about weird and wonderful recipes through the ages. The other part is the two word phrase repeated in the advertisements that cannot help but spark curiosity: 'ejaculating cake'. I decided that I needed to see what that was all about! Charlton Heston or Marky Mark

Advantages: Charlton Heston. Strong supporting cast. Intriguing soundtrack. Good production values -sets,make-up,locations. Excellent story...thought-provoking.
Disadvantages: Looking a little dated.

People unfamiliar with these old movies are about to be given a brand new look at Planet of The Apes. Visionary director Tim Burton is currently producing his own version and I have no doubts that the movie will do well. Burton has had many previous box-office successes, he has a unique directorial style, a strong cast (Mark Wahlberg, Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter), a Summer blockbuster release date and a merchandising tie-in. Heavenly stay at Heston Heathrow

Advantages: Close to Heathrow, bargain room prices.
Disadvantages: Difficult to transfer from Heathrow

...for me anyway so I decided to check out the old favourite the Travelodge. ~~*Making the Reservation*~~ I logged onto the website and typed in the area, Heathrow Heston popped up, I had never heard of Heston but it stated that it was just 0.7miles from Heathrow perfect. On the right hand side of the hotel page was an offer stating saver rooms for £26.00 andsupersaver rooms available for £10.00 perfect so I logged the dates that we required the rooms which was 5 December 2005, the super saver prices were available so I placed the two rooms in the basket to purchase. This allowed me to continue searching for alternative hotels that may be more suitable but after 5 minutes of searching I decided that the Heathrow Heston was the best hotel for us and went to the check-out. I checked I had booked the correct date with the flight tickets...

Sir Bobby Charlton: Pride of England

Advantages: Full account of life, family disputes, munich tragedy and world cup win.
Disadvantages: I paid high price - you wont.

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Charlton Athletic ? Inter Milan?s feeder club!

...Believe it or not, Charlton have an agreement with Inter Milan to act as a feeder club. I haven?t seen much evidence of this so far but a friend of mine who?s a Charlton fan tells me that the agreement only comes into force when they are in the premiership. Does this mean that Ronaldo will be making an appearance in Charlton?s colours next season? I doubt it very much. We were all impressed with the ease they won Nationwide Division 1 last season but if the form they showed in the last 10 games was all they?d achieved throughout the rest of the season, they?d have been relegated in last place. This isn?t the sort of form you want to be taking into the premiership, Charlton have therefore got to be one of the favourites to go down....

...I hope so, I really do because they try hard. I saw them play once last season when they got a sound whipping at Portman Rd against Ipswich. Yet Charlton were way ahead at the end of the season. Difference will show now they are back in the premiership. They learned a few lessons last time they were up there. Ipswich have not experienced top flight football for a few years now and are certs to come back down. the squad needs to be strengthened and some world class needs to be added. It lacks in depth at the moment and it must be noted that the wage bill does not match the likes of big spending Man City. Out of the 3 that came up, expect Ath to finish 2nd out of them and to just escape relegation....

...sympathiser Ari, while enraging the duplicitous General Thade. How has the society managed to evolve to such a state as this? What is the secret behind the apes intelligence? Maybe the forbidden city of Calima can provide some answers... The word that's been bandied about ever since the inception of this movie has been 'remake', but anyone expecting such a film will be sorely disappointed. I was one of those people though. The original 1968 film had been a great film (I won't say classic as it does have it's faults but that's another opinion) and this 2001 version had made much of it's heritage and it certainly had a lot to live up to. I'll be honest, it doesn't. There are problems throughout, it lacks the depth and political and sociological messages of the original film and has neither the heart or soul of Charlton Heston's version. Using...
