A great conference venue but not ideal as a hotel

Advantages: Good rooms, well organised conference facilities
Disadvantages: If you aren't there for a conference, you could feel very 'left out'.

...I'm a member of an industry association that holds a two day meeting every year in spring and we move the venue around between different hotels, typically in the Midlands. Last year we were in Rugby at the Dunchurch Park which had excellent conference rooms but dreadful accommodation. This year, the organisers found a new place for us to use - Ettington Chase near Stratford upon Avon. I travelled down from the North West on the day of the conference and my sat nav had no problems finding the hotel. When I pulled off the road into the car park I found a very beautiful old building that looked like a Victorian vicarage but was completely swamped by the size of the new wing. Ettington Chase, Im not running away!

Advantages: Big room, wonderful surroundings, great breakfast
Disadvantages: none

.... The nice lady basically said that there was a prize draw following the wedding fayre and that we really had won a night in one of their hotels. So after speaking to my fiance, we decided that we would go along and if they tried with the hard sell, we could just miander along until the end and come away. ...I picked up a copy of farm chase from my local library as I have loved the children's books written by Rod Campbell. He believes that children should be involved in story telling and therefore most of his books do have flaps. My son is very interested in animals particularly animals that he can make the sounds they make. It is a paperback book but relatively thick cardboard but if you have a child who likes ripping flaps off this book won't last very long. The story of the book is as expected with the title. It tells the story of a group of animals chasing one another around the farm. The book is in very simple language. It starts with the line "This is the angry bull that chased....." Each page has a large simple illustration which stretches over two pages. Other than a few tufts of grass the only other thing that can be seen...

Advantages: Good story, strong acting, funny, dramatic.

...Dick and fart jokes. These are the basis for a Kevin Smith film. Whether one finds these funny or not will decide whether one can appreciate Smith?s work as a whole. ...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...
