Cheshire Land Rover Club
Advantages: Friendly, Active, Land Rover, Sociable, Helpful, MSA affiliated.
Disadvantages: Regional club, not national.
...Cheshire Land Rover Club is a club run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts with over 100 members. Members are encouraged to get involved and try and arrange opportunities for club events that explore all things landrover, especially the joy of driving them.
The kind of events are regularly set up are:
- Green laning days; pre planned trips down LEGAL lanes that have been verified with Glass, Local authority rights of way officers and National Park Authorities, conducted in accordance with accepted green lane practice so as to ensure a fun time without jeapordising future laning access.
- Off Road days, typically "Pay to play" events like Explorer where you can try your hand at various levels of terrain and obstacle. There are usually experienced members around to offer advice if you want it, or pull you out if you bite off more than...

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in the Peak District!
Advantages: Lots of history, good history, nice location
Disadvantages: Small food portions, Soft drinks quite pricey
...There was a time when I was growing up when my family suddenly became a little bit more affluent. My Dad had worked all of his life in the Sheffield Steelworks and had been made unemployed. That was a difficult time but just when things were starting to look grim he got another job.
This job came with a Company Car and he had a good Boss. One of the perks of this job was that was that he was allowed to take his wife and kids (my brother and myself) out for a meal every week, as long as the total bill did not exceed £60. For the next couple of years my Mother never had to cook another Sunday Lunch.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, located in the Derbyshire Town of Castleton was one of several Pubs/Restaurants where we became regulars.
Castleton is a beautiful little Town in an area of the Peak District National Park known as...

Blink cheshire cat...please
Advantages: Some great classic blink songs. Little/No fillers.
Disadvantages: Abismal recording.
...The first full length album eminating from those So-Cal kids blink-182. For lots of fans it has been decsribed as blink's best before they 'sold out'.
Throughout all of blink's career they have started off their albums with good songs. And this is no different. Carousel is a great started with an amazing bass intro. Albeit a bit longer than your average, but once it gets down to the nitty gritty it's one of the best on the album. Lyrically, its no genius, but any teenager can relate to the subject and although the recording is far from perfect (Tom's voice is quite bad =P) it's a song one can't help but like.
The next best song in my opinion is M&Ms - This was the only song released as a single off Cheshire Cat. It opens with a guitar solo (unusual for Tom) before Mark kicks in the verse. Alot of the songs on this record you can...

3 night break at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, Castleton, Derbyshi
Advantages: Friendly. Clean. Central to village of Castleton. Great for walkers.
Disadvantages: Menu too extensive and too expensive.
...We discovered the 'Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn' whilst searching the web for somewhere to stay in the Peak District. It was to be our first holiday away as a couple for 19 years! Finally leaving two teenagers behind (more than happy not to be dragged away on a walking holiday). The photograph on the website more than matched up to the real thing. Very friendly staff - efficient and obliging. There are 10 rooms of varying sizes. We had a 'standard double' - admittedly small but very clean and with an ensuite shower room.
Breakfast each morning was from 8.30 - 9.30. As keen walkers, we would have preferred breakfast a little earlier. However, breakfast was excellent - the 'full English' for hearty appetites or any combination of lighter meals if required. The staff were more than happy to accommodate you. It must be said...

South Cheshire College
Advantages: Exceptional record for A level results
Disadvantages: Some sports facilities
...offer a lot of support and are more than happy to meet you on a one-to-one basis to discuss any problems. There is always a good atmosphere in lectures, and the vast majority of the classes have a small number of students so teaching feels more perosnal and more individual attention is gained. The homework situation is certainly not as bad as people think with A level work and there is never usually a lot depending on the subject choices.
Im currently in my second year studying the sciences and maths, and i can certainly say that the maths lecturers are all really nice and really groovy, and in my opinion the best in the college!
One thing i was particularly worried about when starting my time here was making new friends, as i came from a school where very few people come to south cheshire. But once youve been there a week it feels like...

Miss Marple would live here
Advantages: Friendly people, lots to see and many shops
Disadvantages: None i know of
...This review is about a nice little village called Marple which I knew about but only really discovered whilst on a bit of a break last year. Using a friends canal boat for two weeks, we travelled along the well constructed canal system, travelling along the Cheshire ring.
As we sped along at a hefty 2 to 3 mile per hour we came across a beautiful little village called Marple and its 16 locks...and what a pleasant little surprise it was too.
As I said I had heard of Marple and had probably passed through it by road but when we stopped there I was not expecting what the beautiful little village had to offer
** WHERE IS IT...
Marple is in Cheshire, approximately 5 miles away from Stockport and 15 miles away from Buxton.
It has an exceptional public transport system, having two train stations, Rose Hill and Marple, with trains...

Fetch the Buckets - It's "All You Can Eat"
Advantages: Lots of choice - though if you go too often it gets a bit samey
Disadvantages: Can get a bit noisy and the atmosphere is zero
...sticking a cinema and a bowling alley in the middle swung the decision not to call it a retail park. Either way it's not really the sort of place I like to hang out. That perhaps tells you that the food is good enough to drag me to such a place. The Coliseum is just behind Ellesmere Port's more famous shopping attraction - Cheshire Oaks, the biggest outlet centre in the UK.
On our last visit we'd rolled up in the car and parked right outside the restaurant. This time things were a bit different. It was the school holidays and the car park was packed. Sabine commented that it didn't look like the British economy had much to worry about if a place was so full at 7 pm on a Wednesday night. Due to a very large number of oddly dressed young girls we came to the conclusion that some kind of event was going on in one of the 'leisure' venues - I...

Esmerelda, the bells have made me deaf
Advantages: A beautiful setting for a sunny evening. Big dishes.
Disadvantages: Watch out for the cats!
...all the shiny company cars. I can't say that I actually remember anything about what we ate but I retained an enduring image of a pretty country pub full of posh people.
Back to the Present
In early September my friend Alison and I arranged to meet for dinner. It was her turn to choose and she suggested the BOP. We knew in advance that it was no longer a fancy award-winning place and rumour reached us that it was now owned by the Chef and Brewer chain. It was a lovely sunny August evening and a pub in the country seemed just the ticket.
Before going any further I think it's important to get the name right. Peover is pronounced Peever. Whatever you do, don't ask for Pee-over or people will laugh at you. The Bells of Peover is in Lower Peover, Cheshire and the largest town nearby is Knutsford. A Sat Nav may be handy to avoid...

Tatton Park, Cheshire
Advantages: Lots To See And Do, Plenty Of Open Spaces
Disadvantages: Can Work Out Very Expensive
...Tatton Park is an example of a Country House and Estate dating from 1791. It is situated near to Knutsford in Cheshire and was the former seat of the Egerton family. The National Trust now own the Park, but it is financed, administered and maintained by Cheshire County Council
The House is a neo-classical type Building that was designed by Samuel Wyatt. Work began on the construction in 1791 but the original plans were scaled down due to cost. His Nephew, Lewis Wyatt eventually completed it around 1810.
As well as the main House, generally referred to as Tatton Mansion there is also another historic House on the Estate known as the Tudor Old Hall. The whole Estate covers an area of approximately 1,000 acres and includes Woodland, Parkland, Open Spaces, Ornamental Lakes and Gardens. These include Japanese and Italian Gardens...

Try your hand at candle making
Advantages: Good attraction for all ages
Disadvantages: not quite enough to make up a full day
...Having decided last bank holiday that I was going to drag the family away from TV and the X Box we headed off to cries of 'where are we going' and 'where not going shopping are we?' . Having calmed the potential riot in the back of the car I announced that we where going to go to Cheshire Ice Cream Farm when my daughter piper up and asked could we go to the Candle Workshops also. Of course we could as these attractions are only 4 miles apart and its ideal to visit the Candle Workshops 1st then move onto the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm so this is what we did.
Getting to the Cheshire Workshops is quite easy and extremely will signposted from the A41 Whitchurch to Chester road, just follow the brown tourist board signs for the Candle Workshops. It's that easy even I can find my way on the odd occasion that just the children and I go on our...
