Nubira serviced at Guildford
Advantages: Sevicing, lots of equipment
Disadvantages: No little ligth to show where the ignition key goes
...My Nubira has pretty much been a joy to own and I actually find it a very pleasant drive. To date the only problems have been a blown exhaust, off/on heating controls with no variability and a sticking drivers window. All of these have been fixed under the warranty including the exhaust which I was surprised at considering I'd bought the car second hand. One advantage of the Daewoo network is that you can go along to any service centre and they can access all the records of your cars history on line. My car has bee mainly serviced at the Guildford centre, originally at Halfords but lately in a new custom built showroom. Whilst the quality of the servicing has been great, you do need to book in advance to get the promised "we'll pick it up and leave you a car while we've got it" service. Incidentally the hire agreement which goes...

Daewoo Nubira X Series
Advantages: Cheap to run
Disadvantages: none that I have found as yet
...I have bought a Daewoo Nubira X series and have found the car to be a very inexpensive car to run on petrol which is a very big plus in the way the price of Petrol is going these days as I can get roughly around 700klms out of a tank of petrol and that not doing any sort of distance driving. Atfer taking the car on a long haul to North Queensland last year and was averaging around 850klms to a tank so thought that was reasonable as well. I have had a V8 and a V6 and find this car is just as good on power as those two other cars so that is saying something as far as I am concerned at least.
As I have only had the car since last September I haven't found any disadvantages at this stage but would highly recommand this car to a small family as it has plenty of room inside to seat 5 people comfortably....

My experience with the Nubira
Advantages: cheap, good spec, value for money
Disadvantages: scarce parts, build quality
...Had my Daewoo Nubira estate for 4 ½ years now and have been happy with it until recently.
Starting to find a lot of niggly things going wrong with it and parts becoming hard to come by.
Problems suffered include:
? Freezing handbrake in winter. This started during the first year and is apparently a common fault with Daewoos. Now during the extremely cold weather I leave it in gear with no handbrake on?.it?s ok it?s parked in my driveway !
? Suspension problems. Had to replace nearside suspension and took two months for AA services to get the parts. Been told this is a recent problem and should go away now that GM have bought them.
? Rust. Have had three inspections against the anti- rust warranty but had no response from Daewoo (now GM Daewoo). All they say is it must be lost and have to go through the same procedure again...

Chevrolet Blazer S10 UK Spec
Advantages: Amazing comfort, load space, Towing Capacity LPG savings
Disadvantages: Parts can be costly, maintainence needs to be maticulous
...I bought a Blazer 6 months ago after owning Frontera's, Shoguns and numerous landrovers.
By far the S10 UK spec Blazer leaves them in the dust, mines LPG converted making it supprisingly economic, drive it on a motorway run and you can return fantstic value for money, i took mine to France recently and drove from York to Dover at motorway speeds with 4 adults and luggage and cost was £40.
I had heard reports that parts were expensive, my outlook on this is overall the cost of chevrolet parts is relative to owning a Range Rover.
if your willing to wait parts are easily obtained from the USA at reasonable costs (just watch for the shipping fees)
The comfort offered by the Chevrolet is amazing, you can spend a whole day behind the wheel and still get out feeling fresh, the drive is amazingly easy for such a big vehicle. Parking in...

Small car, big name
Advantages: Cheap, cheap to run, equipment, easy to park
Disadvantages: Too small, lacks power outside the city
...Mention the name Chevrolet to any car enthusiast & it will conjure up an image of the huge American V8 saloons & SUVs that dominate the America car scene. Along with Ford, Chevrolet is among the best selling cars in America & famous for producing a number of classics such as the legendary Corvette sports car, the muscle cars of the 1960s & many more.
It?s a true American brand, up there with Coca Cola & McDonalds, yet Louis Chevrolet who founded the company came from Switzerland.
His family left Switzerland to live in France in the late 19th century & it was there where Louis developed his mechanical skills & interest in motor racing. At the turn of the century he emigrated to Canada to work as a chauffeur & mechanic, later he moved again to New York City where he worked briefly for a fellow Swiss immigrant's engineering company...

KING OF BIG CARS
Advantages: Greate design, comfortable
Disadvantages: The big fuel consumption
...The main event for "General Motors" this year became occurrence of new generation of the biggest jeep of concern "Chevrolet - Suburban".
Big jeep are today the main source of income GM. On such cars as "Suburban", "Tahoe", and "Ukon", the company earns on some thousand dollars of net profit, and machines of hundreds thousand are sold. The premiere new "Suburban" was even more long-awaited because last time classical Detroit jeep was altered with 12 years back.
" Chevrolet - Suburban " is the oldest automobile trade mark. Having appeared in far 1935, it "has overtaken" on survivability even well-known Volkswagen "Bug". 65 years of manufacture and adoration have transformed "Suburban" that it is possible to name truly American car, - " the biggest, the most reliable and the most comfortable ". Besides the most universal...

Forget the ride, steering and interior build quality and love it!
Advantages: Sounds better than the Beatles!
Disadvantages: 75% of the population hate you.
...I've had a love/hate relationship with my 1989 Chevrolet Silverado for around 8 years now. It's undergone a rebuild and respray, has a typical crazy Yanky wallow to the ride, the steering is fragile and at worst lethal, the interior trim quality is poor and you have to keep all the joints greased or it sounds like a seriously squeaky bed ... it smokes on start up and the engine service light comes on if the fluid level slops on a corner. The model I drive is the 5.7 V8 and it is ... when all considered ... a petrol heads dream! I drove this car to Hamburg a couple of years ago and stuffed every Merc and BMW I came across. Mid range acceleration is 'awesome' and the top speed is scary! It will do 140mph with an eagerness to do considerably more. OK, so I tweaked the box and suspension and brakes, but it's reasonably stock ... it turns...

A Korean Cracker
Advantages: Lot of car for the money
Disadvantages: Not a lot of prestige
...~ ~ A relative newcomer to the market, the Korean built Daewoo Nubira competes favourably on price and specification with both its Japanese and European cousins.
There are four cars in the range, the 1.6 S.E. and the 2.0 C.D.X. saloons, and the estate versions of the same.
All of the Nubira’s similarly-engined competitors are much more expensive. Its main opposition would be the Vectra, Mondeo, Primera, and Avensis, but it is significantly cheaper than them all.
~ ~ Daewoo cars were at one time based on the cast-off designs of General Motors, but that’s not true any more. They are totally engineered and designed by the Korean manufacturer, and to very exacting standards indeed.
So what about the drivability? It is a refined and comfortable car, with good performance and excellent fuel economy.
The specifications are...

Corvette ZO6 is passionate Americana engineering
Advantages: 505 hp, immense brakes and great handling qualities
Disadvantages: gives you awestruckness !
...The 2007 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6..is a passionate piece of American Engineering. In fact as I drive past, everybody in the street has got to look at it. Its not so passionate as it is technologically advanced. This vehicle has an Aluminium frame. The roof is made of magnesium. It has a great power to weight ratio. The Chevrolet Corvette is an icon. In 1953 when the car was introduced only 300 were made and even given to people like John Wayne to look good to drive around in. 1954 came and the car had hard sales..it almost died. Its amazing that this car has made it through 6 incarnations to become the ZO6 in the 2007 model year. To me this car is the epitome everything Chevrolet can take and form into a performance car. It has 505hp, incredible brakes, incredible suspension and on top of all that..it has a head-up display, great leather...

The Corvette is too fast and too ferocious
Advantages: Good 6-speed automatic transmission. Good ride quality, pure Americana
Disadvantages: Might ruin your hairstyle, causes wind-blown hair !
...The Chevrolet Convertible, is a pure American emotional drive. If there is one car in the world that is absolutely 100% Americana...I believe its the Chevrolet Corvette. Back in the 50s a group of core engineers at Chevrolet were designated to create an American sports-car...and "bish-bash-bosh"...6 generations later...you have the C6 Chevrolet Convertible being reviewed. I'm going to take a peek inside, and yes it does actually have a boot as well. But lets start by looking under the bonnet. Okay "hood" open. I can see it has the LS2 engine, and you better believe it, its a big piece of American iron. Call it 6 litres if you want. I'm going to call it 364 cubic inches, I don't know when and where exactly the litres came in, long ago it was all about cubic inches. This motor has 400 hp and 400 lbs-ft (542 Nm) of torque...which in my...
