Veg, chicken and rice! Lucky babies!

Advantages: tasty, smells good, natural
Disadvantages: none!

...* Fruit Purees * Savoury Meals * Finger Foods as well as many more too. Vegetable chicken and wholegrain rice. This is the product which I bought as I thought it actually looked very 'normal'. The food comes in little pots and you can see the food inside and to me it looked very natural you could see chunks of carrots and bits of rice instead of some random unidentifiable mush which other baby food looks like. Ingredients. Due to the fact it is made by Organix all ingredients are organic, natural and do not include anything artificial. The ingredients inculde: * water * Courgettes * Carrots * Organic cooked wholegrain rice * Organic freerange chicken * Onions * sweetcorn * Garlic * Thyme. Calories per pot (130g): 78 salt: Trace. It is also gluten free. The packaging. The pots come in pairs. Two plastic 130g pots...

Boots Shapers Chicken & Vegetable Rice Salad

Advantages: Slimming aid & comes as part of a luch meal deal for £2.99
Disadvantages: Not the best, or freshest tasting salad I've had

...In this little review I shall be telling you all about my experience with Boots Shapers Seared Chicken and Vegetable Rice Salad. My experience began when I stumbled into Boots last monday lunch time to take advantage of the meal deal they have at boots. Luch for only £2.99. You can have any sandwich, salad or tortilla wrap with any snack this includes crisps, cruchy carrots, celery sticks, yoghurt, fruit salad or a splendips snack pack as well as any drink - my favs are the smooties or juice drinks. I chose this chicken and veg rice salad as was under 450 calories and looked very colourful in its pack. Appearance: Round rice with a green and red peppers mixed through. The diagonally cut chicken pieces have brown seasoning on the edges and are arranged on top of the salad in a scattered fashion. Smell: Vinegary smell...

Szechuan Chicken with Garlic Rice quick and tasty

Advantages: quick, easy and very very yummy
Disadvantages: none

...I've just eaten this for tea and it was excellent. Really tasty, filling and didn't feel like I was eating a "healthy" meal. It would be a good substitute for a take-away. It has 9.8gs of fat for the meal, but only 0.9g of saturated fat, which is pretty good if you are trying to adjust the amount of "bad" fats in your diet. The meal consists of a garlic flavour rice with chicken and vegetables in a mildly spicy bean sauce. What makes it so good? well eye appeal for starters - it looks like it does on the packet - the vegetables with the chicken look fresh and are good colour (reds/green I always find appealing in food). The sauce is spicy, but in good amounts (not too much, not too little). You can taste the garlic and chilli. The rice is a good texture - on the softer side (unlike when you eat curry where it tends to be...

Errrmmm wheres the chicken

Advantages: Quick and easy to cook
Disadvantages: Not enough chicken, too many sultanas

...of boiling water have added the sauce, and wait for 15 minutes before adding the rice. I have left the pan on simmer for a further 4 minutes. Then the timer goes beep, beep, beep. I remove the rice from the pan carefully and strain it thru a sieve to ensure my tea won't be watery. I lay out neatly on one side of the plate. I then remove the sauce from the pan and cut open and arrange on the other side of the plate! I then remove all sultanas as they ruin my enjoyment of my curry! Now for the first mouthful! I always eat the chicken first! Well all 4 bits that I got in tonights package! Thought it was meant to be Chicken curry, not curry sauce with added chicken! Not impressed, but anyway I eat my 4 pieces of chicken and I must say it was very nice well cooked chicken! Very tender instead of rubbery or chewy like it can sometimes...

I DON'T FEEL LIKE CHICKEN TONIGHT

Advantages: It is quick and is on offer
Disadvantages: Not so tasty

...Tesco Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice - frozen meal. Whilst shopping in Tesco, we decided to stock up on frozen meals as i had not been in the mood to cook for a while. We browsed round the frozen Ready Meals and I decided on the blue packet meals. At 79pence each I choose the full offer, any 5 for £3.50, saving us around 40pence. The meals on this offer consist mainly of British traditionals and oriental foods. (The meal is also available online at www.tesco.com for home delivery.) I'm not going to do a background history on Tesco or who invented ready meals so on we go.... #The Box The cardboard box is blue and rectangular, with a decent looking colourful meal printed on the front. There is so much product information crammed onto the box. There is so much information it's quite hard to find what you're looking...

Chicken Curry with Chilli, well Frozen anyway.

Advantages: Quick and tasty
Disadvantages: Not that large, can burn fingers on the hot bags

...of microwave takes about 9 minutes to complete. One word of warning here, the bags once removed from the microwave can be very hot indeed, and so is the steam that can come from the bags once opened, so a degree of care here is advised. As I mentioned, once you open up the box, you are presented with a bag with the rice and a bag with the curry sauce. Once cooking is complete you can serve these either separately or one over the other (my preference). The rice firstly is very very nice for a convinience meal. It is remarkably light and fluffy, not sticking together at all, and is as good as the homemade variety. Secondly the curry is also nice. The contents are usually 5 or 6 large sized pieces of chicken breast which are well cut with no blood and guts on, and is very succulent. The sauce is marked as medium on the box but I would say that it...

Yummy Curry aka Chicken Rogan Josh By Sainsburys.

Advantages: Very quick and not pots and pans to wash up!
Disadvantages: I dont get much needed cooking practice!

...What is it? Chicken Rogan Josh with pilau rice. Or Chicken Curry. A frozen Ready meal from Sainsburys, that lovely supermarket I now seem to know as a seccond home. How is it I find myself there three times a week? Why did I buy it? I was feeling very lazy, bad day with the kids and going to work at 6pm no time for cooking! I have to admit, I'll buy anything if it's on offer and this was no different. The offer was buy 2 for £4 and the idea of having curry one night and then being able to have it again the next sounded great! My finace doesnt eat curry so I bought him sweet and sour because he is a pussy! The packaging is in those kind of rich colours you associate with indian food purple and a really deep pinky colour. Theres also a picture of the yummy stuff on it too and when you are hungrey and shopping this is very...

THE CHICKENS THAT HATE ME!!!

Advantages: eggs, interesting pets, fertilise your garden,
Disadvantages: take a lot of care, smell, they only lay for 4 years

...I am not a big chicken fan apart from when its part of my Sunday roast. However, upon moving to the country my mum decided to turn her garden into something that strongly resembles 'The Good Life'. With various vegetable patches and a herb garden, the next logical step was apparently chickens!! Purchasing the Chickens Chickens vary massively in cost and with so many options, we eventually settled on purchasing a kind of "package" which included the chicken house, run and three chickens for around £390. This seems like a lot of money to me but apparently not seeing as most chicken houses (the properly built ones that foxes cant get into) cost around this anyway. The house and run that we purchased was the 'eglu' which is sold by a company called Omlet and is easy to clean and a good secure design too. It took a week or so...

THE NOT SO FUNKY CHICKEN

Advantages: I suppose it's quite healthy and non-fattening
Disadvantages: A big let-down, it was bland and pretty tasteless

...I have recently been trying out and reviewing a range of meals from Findus, the range is called ?Findus Feeling Good? and as the name suggests these meals are supposedly a better or should I say a more healthy option than the usual ready made meals and as you know nearly all the big supermarkets are beginning to make their own versions of these ?Healthy option? meals. Well, I?m now about to cover the healthy range from Asda, the said meal is ?Chicken Provencal with Rice?. So what does the meal consist of? Chicken Provencal consists of prime chicken breast fillets, which are cooked in a rich tomato and oregano sauce and is topped with courgettes and red peppers; the meal is also served with a portion of long-grained white rice and the portions are of a reasonable size, so the meal is a bit more filling than other similar meals...

Review of Asda Good for You Chicken Provencal and Rice

Basic Fried Rice

Advantages: Yummy
Disadvantages: This particular version not suitable for vegetarians

...I love Chinese food, and often attempt to cook it at home, with a varied range of success. I have found that the ability to even knock up a fried rice dish when friends drop round seems to impress, although I'm not too sure why, as it is really easy to prepare and cook. I have listed a basic recipe below, which I use as a budget supper or as one dish in a selection, but sometimes I add other ingredients like strips of (pre-fried) chicken or pork to make a complete dinner. All the quantities are flexible, according to taste - so experiment. Also, this can be a really cheap dish; you don't need expensive back bacon, for example. I use Tesco value streaky bacon and it gives plenty of flavour. It doesn't really matter which type of oil you use either, so long as it is one which can withstand a high temperature - so for this reason, it...
