The Best & Worse Places In The UK

Advantages: I wrote it!
Disadvantages: No biscuits ;o(

...go for the interview area. The third piece of writing on the list was in English. I left 3 hours later and it was dark. I was again followed to my Docklands Light Railway connection. This time one actually tried to pick my pocket. But a cry from me of "Get your f**king hand off me you piece of sh1t" soon sent them packing. I would sooner be chucked off the top of a cliff in a barrel than visit Lewisham again. 3) Camborne, Cornwall - There are some things that Camborne are proud of, one of which is that they have the highest underage pregnancy rate in the whole of Europe, Don't they have tellys? The other is that they are very close knit. I believe they are so close knit that some may be related twice if you get me? Camborne is a generally unpleasant place. Very dark and grotty it looks like something out of the League Of Gentleman...

Review of 10 best places to visit in Britian

10 PLACES I MISS.

Advantages: They make memories.
Disadvantages: The cost of getting there.

...hand made articles, to antiques, from delicious cakes, to charity stalls, the market offers an afternoon of browsing and it really doesn't matter what kind of weather it is because it is under cover. Going back to the streets of Tavistock, there is a wide choice of shops, and a particularly nice place to stop off for afternoon tea with superbly made cakes. If you find the pace a little too much, there is respite here in the Bedford Hotel just off the square because you can have your afternoon coffee or tea in the hotel, in sumptuous surroundings at the same cost per cup as you would pay in a crowded cafe. They serve it in a coffee pot and you get a good couple of cups in an atmosphere of yesteryear. LYNTON AND LYNMOUTH This really is a place I love to visit, though not so much during the day. I like this place in the early summer...

Lands End To John O'Groats

Advantages: Great days out, great memories
Disadvantages: By products

...One of my Christmas presents was a book called "Crap Towns" which was basically a countdown on the 50 worst towns in Britain as voted by people on the Idler website. That book has inspired me to compile a list of my best and worst towns through my own experiences, starting here with the best 10 places in Great Britain that I have visited (the worst 10 will be forthcoming shortly). Heres my own countdown based on my PERSONAL experiences for the best 10 places to visit in the U.K. 10. BEDFORD (Bedfordshire) I worked in Bedford for four years, it's in the Tory heartland with a prestigious history so you'd expect a snobbish town - not the case, even though it does have a public school and plush areas. It's very diverse, a big Italian community (whose mafia control all the crime in the town), a largish asian community, lots...

A Nice Place To Visit...

Advantages: Great weather
Disadvantages: 5th Avenue is oh so touristy

...there (a bonus for people who don't speak the language, as everyone does indeed speak English, but kinda a pain at the same time) and now that I've moved on I know I made the right choice. It's a nice place to visit...but you wouldn't want to live there. ------------------------------------------ - ------------------------------------------- *** Boring / Useful Stuff *** At the moment (summer 08) £1 = $2 = 20 pesos, mas o menos. My bible for my first few days and my obsession in the months leading up to my trip was this interactive: www. travelyucatan.com / playadelcarmenmexico / playadelcarmenmap.gif The electricity supply in Playa is tempremental, as is the case in much of Mexico. Power cuts are common, as are power-surges. If you take anything electrical (e.g. a laptop) invest in a 80 peso surge protector when...

Review of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Great place to visit.

Advantages: Free, lots to see
Disadvantages: None

...Block is open from July to September and the tour times are 10-5.15. The outside tours run from the end of June to September. At other times you can pick up a leaflet for a self-guided tour around the Hill. THE VISIT: We actually made 3 visits to the buildings. I will tell you about each in turn. 1. The Centre Block When we first arrived the first thing that we noticed was how much the building looked like the British Houses of Parliament. They both have the same gothic feel with the main difference being that this one has 2 seperate blocks as well as the Centre Block. In front of these is Canada's Centenial Flame. Like most people I thought that this was an Enternal Flame so I was puzzled when it looked unlit. Apparently, however, it goes out all the time with the weather. We were relieved to see it lit the next day! It...

Review of Radisson Hotel Parliament Hill Ottawa, Ottawa

Children need to experience things

Advantages: encourages good social skills
Disadvantages: somebody elses children spoiling it

...I have 2 children aged 10 and 2 and we eat out in restaurants, as a treat sometimes and it isn't always in places that have ball pools or other entertainment for children. I believe that families should be able to go out for a nice meal and be treated with respect. If you don't want to go to a restaurant where children are, then go to one that doesn't allow children in. I understand not everybody likes children, I don't like all children but they are the next generation and need to know what is expected of them when they eat out. Other countries welcome children into their restaurants and make a fuss of them, of course some places do in this country but not all. Why is this? Maybe it's because there is a minority of people who take their children to eat and they are not prepared, or maybe, it's because again the minority...

Save the Children

Advantages: Great acting , True Story
Disadvantages: Upsetting story

...doubts. As soon as his friends realise what his plan entails they try to talk him out of it, when that doesn't work they refuse to take part but end up with a gun pointed in their faces. David's daughter Melanie (Joanne Vannicola) is also against his plans but fear takes over and she joins her father and his wife in taking over the school. Wyoming is a small town, not much happens day to day and it is a very safe place to live, so safe that they only have one town sheriff. None of the town where prepared for David Young walking into the school with a bomb the way he did. The film focuses on a few characters and how they cope with what is happening, school teacher Jake Downey (Robert Urich) is inside the school trying to work out what to do to save the children. He is made a negotiator by David giving him access to the outside world...

Review of To Save The Children (DVD)

Nice place to visit...no place to live!

Advantages: Enjoyable movie to watch, interesting culturally
Disadvantages: Poor acting skills on many performers

...half decent seem to be playing as a stage actor instead of a screen actor. The story itself is reasonably well managed, the reveal of Jason?s secret though well bounded about anywhere online and on the cover of the DVD actually remains very well hidden. And you could at times be fooled into believing that the one with the issue is Grace and that Jason is almost like an innocent bystander. Grace bless her just wants a normal life, as much as she loves her brother (and I suspect there is a hint in a couple of places that they love each other a bit too much for brother and sister) she just wants to enjoy the good things in life; experiencing love, eating out and volunteering for good causes. Neither appears to need to work, and money does not seem an issue. Harvey?s performance is great, a genuine mix of compassion and something more...

Review of Welcome to Arrow Beach DVD

Great Place to Visit.

Advantages: Worthy Cause, Friendly Staff, lots to do. Free Parking
Disadvantages: Must be a dry day as much of it is outdoors.

...first visited Horseworld in January 2009. I happened to be driving past and noticed they were advertising Half Price entry during January. So a few days later myself and my friend took our 2 little girls (both aged 1 at the time). It's a little gem of a place, I can't believed i never visited sooner especially with living only a 20 minutes drive away. We loved it so much we became season ticket holders on our second visit. HISTORY Horseworld was established in 1952. Due to the more easily available and affordable transport, horses, ponies and donkeys were being abandoned and slaughtered even those still young and healthy. Marjorie Pelling and Madge Checkley joined the charity after reading a newspaper article and work for the organisation for the next 45 years. Fundraisers worked hard over the years, with flag...

Review of HorseWorld

Great place to visit!

Advantages: Great bargains and nice spots to discover!
Disadvantages: Quite hot over there!

...Port-Louis is the capital of Mauritius, the busiest city where everything happens! I visited or passed through Port Louis several times during my stay in Mauritius. This is the place where the main offices, buildings, centers and banks are found. The harbor and cargo delivery, as well as overseas parcel delivery buildings are also located at Port-Louis. It is quite easily the most important city of Mauritius. It is furthermore one of the major tourist spot. Here are a few tourist attractions of Port-Louis: The Caudan Waterfront: Like I mentioned in another review, Le Caudan Waterfront is simply a very large open-air mall. It includes three cinema halls, a wine and sushi bar, two games arcade, a casino, a marina, lots of restaurants, pubs and an uncountable number of high-quality garment shop. In fact, my Mauritian friends told me...
