Nurofen for Children

...My 6 year old son has been prone to ear infections since the age of two years old. He really suffers when an infection strikes and we have had nights where he has literally been screaming in pain all night. I rang my local Primary Care unit but they refused to see him until he'd had the pain 24 hours! They recommended that I keep him warm, comfortable and give him regular doses of Calpol alongside Nurofen for Children if possible. I regularly gave him Calpol when an ear infection occured, but it didn't seem to touch the sides with him with this kind of pain. Review of Nurofen For Children

Great choice of fins, though at a price

Advantages: Very little effort required underwater, flexible
Disadvantages: Not cheap, not the best for long surface swims

...My Mares Volo Power fins are among the favourite items of my dive kit. While pricey, they do a very good job, and make finning underwater incredibly easy. One of the few drawbacks is I find they're not as good for surface swims, particularly against current. They are longer than many standard fins, which takes some getting used to, and it's something to be aware of when you're near fragile coral reef. However, they're also ultra-flexible, and I usually find I can get back into the boat while still wearing them. Initially I found the quick-release catch at the side to be rather cumbersome - the lock-unlock mechanism isn't very easy with gloves on. To be honest, I've now taken to closing and not locking them, and they've never opened up while I'm in the water. When these fins first appeared on the market they were pretty expensive...

Children need to experience things

Advantages: encourages good social skills
Disadvantages: somebody elses children spoiling it

...I have 2 children aged 10 and 2 and we eat out in restaurants, as a treat sometimes and it isn't always in places that have ball pools or other entertainment for children. I believe that families should be able to go out for a nice meal and be treated with respect. If you don't want to go to a restaurant where children are, then go to one that doesn't allow children in. I understand not everybody likes children, I don't like all children but they are the next generation and need to know what is expected of them when they eat out. Other countries welcome children into their restaurants and make a fuss of them, of course some places do in this country but not all. Why is this? Maybe it's because there is a minority of people who take their children to eat and they are not prepared, or maybe, it's because again the minority...

Nurofen for Children

Advantages: Symptoms disappear within minutes
Disadvantages: stains if it catches the clothes

...In my opinion I think Nurofen for Children is a very good product and value for money. I have been using Nurofen for children with my two daughters. I have used it when they had fever and when they had pain or teething discomfort. On each occasion that I have used it their symptoms disappeared within a short period of time. I think it is a very good product and would recommend it to any parent. If something is not valuable to me, I do not buy it a second time. However, I think Nurofen for children is very good and so I will continue to buy it. I also find that it has a great taste so the children do not shy away from it as much as they do with other medicines....

The Children of Men

Advantages: A chilling story, menacing atmosphere
Disadvantages: Can be a bit slow at times

...P.D. James is a successful British crime fiction writer but having never read her work before, I picked this book up out of interest after vaguely hearing about the film based on it. "The Children of Men" is not a crime fiction novel but is instead a dystopian novel set in a future England where no-one has been able to have a child for twenty-five years. The novel is all about the consequences of this mass childlessness on society. I have to say I quite enjoyed it and thought it had a nicely menacing air. It was quite indebted to Orwell's "1984" in some ways but was by no means a replica. The main character is Theo, who isn't always a sympathetic protagonist as he can be quite irritating and also cold. He is the cousin of the Warden of England who is basically a dictator. The book begins with Theo's diary, in which we find out more...

PAIN RELIEF FOR CHILDREN

Advantages: Does not contain paracetamol
Disadvantages: can cause side effects

...I am not a huge user of paracetamol based medicines and was using Calpol for a while for my son and when I realised that here was now a Nurofen for children on the market in syrup form too I began to use that. I have been taking Nurofen for as long as I can remember, it contains brufen but doesn't contain any paracetamol at all so as an adult you can take this along with paracetamol but this is not recommended for children. Also this should not be used if your child suffers from asthma or has stomach pains (same goes for adults). It comes in a brown plastic bottle with a child proof lid on it (that goes without saying really) with the word Nurofen clearly marked on it in red letters on a grey background. It comes with a measureing guide which looks like a syringe, my son screamed when he first saw it until I had to reassure him...
