China - Unforgettable
Advantages: Great Sights, Changing Culture.
Disadvantages: Difficult Language
.... However there are only a few hundred of the thousands of warriors assembled and a lot of them smashed into pieces. The effect is impressive though not amazing and I may have been slightly dissapointed. You can buy terracotta warriors of any shape and size (including lifesize) and have them shipped to you. You can also have a book signed by the guy who found the site, hes a chinese pesant who looks very happy with his lot in life.
Xian, Other Attractions - We were also taken to the Emperors Summer palace, which is basically a mountain. Here there are beautiful gardens and statues of the seven beauties of china (apparently china has 10,000 years of history but only 7 beauties) I thought they wern't that great looking. We also went to the Wild Goose Pagoda, where a buddist monk saw a goose and built a massive seven story pagoda, it was very...

Go easy on the eye liner, China!
Advantages: cute
Disadvantages: retired
...From about the age of ten, my friends and I were addicted to collecting TY beanies. For those of you who do not know for some strange reason, TY Beanies are a collection of little teddies in all forms, from animals and teddy bears. Once you start a collection they are quite addictive. Their cute little faces draw you in and indeed they are all adorable!
One of the Beanies is a Panda, named China. China sits on his fours, and looks so adorable! His fur is black and white, as you would expect, with the arms and paws black alond with his ears and patches over his eyes, the rest of him white. He looks quite sad, his mouth upside down with his beady little eyes hidden in the blackness of the patches. Though he looks adorable all the same.
If you give China a stroke, you will find that he is very soft indeed. His fur is so warm and fuzzy...

China Lake
Advantages: Witty, fast paced, full of suspense
Disadvantages: Maybe a little bit hard to get into
...The story unfolds in Santa Barbara, home of our heroine, Evan Delaney. Evan's six year old nephew currently lives with her, his Dad being posted to the Naval Air Warfare Centre in China Lake and his mum's whereabouts unknown. Unfortunately, events turn sour when a funeral of a family friend gathers some unwanted attention from a religious cult called the Remnant. Sassy Evan, definately no shrinking violet, has a few choice words for the groups leader, Wyoming and from here, her adventures begin. Why does she get involved? Well, here comes the crunch (and I promise you this does not give away too much of the book!) - guess who has joined the Remnants? - Luke's Mum Tabitha! Guess what else? - They want Luke back! Now, who would trust an evil, gunweilding religious cult with a six year old? Not Evan! Unfortunatley, the Remnant are...

Bone China by Roma Tearne
Advantages: Interesting easy to read novel
Disadvantages: None
...The author, Roma Tearne, was born in Sri Lanka and moved to Britain when ten years old. Before becoming a writer she trained as a painter and her work has been widely exhibited. Bone China is her second book and is a very enjoyable and moving story, following four generations of the de Silva family, from the 1930's onwards.
The de Silva's are a Tamil family living in Ceylon, or Sri Lanka as it was. Grace is the family matriarch to a somewhat dysfunctional family and is the link that bonds all the characters of the book. Grace was born into a rich land owning family but she marries Aloysius for love and watches with great dignity as, over the years, he drinks and gambles away her family's fortune. Always trying to maintain the traditions and customs of her time, in a country every increasingly torn apart by political and civil...

China China Swansea
Advantages: All you can eat at a reasonable price
Disadvantages: It's so tasty you'll probably eat too much
...In my humble opinion China China offers an exceptionally varied, delicious buffet menu at a reasonable price. The freshly cooked food is constantly being added to the hot serving tables, the 'Seafood' in particular is delicious and it's a real treat to have such a well prepared aray of tasty Mussels, King Prawns, and Squid. If you'd rather the more conventional meat dishes there are plenty of Chicken, Beef, Spare Ribs etc. and all sorts of side dishes, from Special Fried Rice or Spring Rolls to plain old boring Chips for the less experimental of you. Even lots of pretty average but tasty Cheese Cakes. Ice Creams or Fruit Salads for afters (if you can fit them in).
My only criticism is of me not China China, and that is I keep confusing 'All you would like to eat' with 'All you can eat' and as it's so tasty I made a right pig of myself...

Imperial China - Excellent Value and Well Worth the Visit
Advantages: Great Location. Good Food. Excellent Value. Great Service.
Disadvantages: Minor compaint about Beef Satay starter, but otherwise no issues at all.
...on the Imperial China on Lisle Street.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The first thing that strikes you as you walk up Lisle Street from Leicester Square is that every second business appears to be a restaurant, all of which (from budget canteens to more posh eateries) were pretty busy. The character of the streets changes as soon as you head into Chinatown as well, so its very easy to forget you are in central London. The entrance to the Imperial China is through an alley, so it can be easy to miss despite the signage outside. Unexpectedly, you cross a little red bridge over a small pond chock full of impressive looking Koi. It gives you the impression of ?crossing over? and leaving the bustle of Lisle Street behind you.
We were courteously met by the waiting staff and immediately seated. The restaurant seems to have two main areas. The front...

History of the ashes sport dvd

...history of the ashes
Back in eighteen eighty two a test match series between england and australia started a regular feature for cricket fans. The eighteen eighty two series provided a victory for england, and it was the australian's who got a request granted to play a fourth test match, and whilst they won, it was england who got to keep the famous ern where the ashes are kept. The series is played every two years, though only once every four years back here in England.
this dvd lasts two hours eleven minutes, and it provides a historical platform in terms of cricketing. clips shown of great catches, supreme batting performances, and legendary bowlers of cricket's all time, hall of cricketing fame. The dvd also is interesting to see how world war one and two affected english cricket.

American History X
Advantages: Edward Norton; Dialogue; Tension; Story
Disadvantages: Propaganda
..."We're so hung up on this notion that we have some obligation to help the struggling black man, you know. Cut him some slack until he can overcome these historical injustices. It's crap. I mean, Christ, Lincoln freed the slaves, like, what? 130 years ago. How long does it take to get your act together?"
--Derek Vinyard
Edward Norton is one of those rare contemporary actors that you know whatever movie he's going to be in it's going to be good. American History X is by no means an exception, with Norton phenomenal in his performance as an ex-neo-Nazi attempting to prevent his brother from pursuing the path he did.
Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) plays the young skinhead Danny Vinyard, criticised by his teacher (Avery Brooks) for turning in a paper on Mein Kampf. The black teacher then instructs Danny to create a report...

History Deary not Dreary.
Advantages: Fun and informative
Disadvantages: none
...I bought "Ten Horrible Histories" from a book club we run at school. They cost me £10 for the set which was an excellent bargain. They are marked at £4.99 each.
The books are paperback with approximately 127/130 pages in each. They are easy and interesting to read for young children with a reading age of about eight. Boys of this age especially, sometimes find reading boring just as the author states that history can be boring.
All of the books have a contents and introduction page.
The books are interesting and very cleverly written. If a child finds reading a page of text difficult they can read the comic strip or the jokes and an adult could share the book with them by reading the text. There are quizzes and in some books questions to ask the teacher, so the teacher must read the book too!
There are rhyme words, lists...

American History X
Advantages: Great plot, superb characters and a theme that needed to be discussed
Disadvantages: violent
...Well my next review again is another film that was made during the 90's. Gosh they really don't make films like they use to. I must admit ive only seen this film twice once in high school and once with my friends, and both times the film just gives you a sense of shock. The film im going to review is the 1998, critically acclaimed "American History X", directed by Tony Kaye and Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
Ok two quick recaps here, Edward Furlong is the guy who was John Connor in Terminator 2, however just a wee bit more older in this film, but he still looks the same. We then have Edward Norton; you might recognise him from his earlier work in Primal Fear and The People vs. Larry Flynt
I must admit this review will talk about some cruel and in some cases sadistic scenes, and for that I apologise if it causes any offence...
