...There was a time when my sister would always have a big bar of Galaxy chocolate in the house. You see she was always more of a fan of it than I was. I would eat the occasional 3 to 6 squares (unlike some people who could easily put away half the bar at a time). However a couple of weeks ago I got a strange urge to have some Galaxy chocolate. As it happens we still had a bar in the house. Alas the bar was so old it still had the old wrapper on it and was supposed to have been eaten about twelve months earlier. It went in the bin and I went out to buy myself some more. Seeing as how I only wanted to remind myself of the taste of the chocolate I bought one of the small standard-sized bars that are available in newsagents and near the checkouts in supermarkets. Galaxy chocolate also comes in larger bars, if I remember correctly...

Kinder Chocolate Snack Bars!

Back in the old days, the only Kinder products I knew of were the Kinder Eggs, which contained a small yellow tub with a little toy inside. I myself was hardly ever allowed them (and now I pay the bills myself I know why when they used to cost around 70p, and even now cost over 50p!), but when I was I just loved the taste of the gorgeous chocolate with the milky white chocolate inside the milk chocolate shell. Full of chocolate chips and oatey goodness and each mouth full is not enough.  SIZE, TASTE & SMELL  The size is quite deceiving, they are smaller then they look in the packaging at only approx 3 inches long by just an inch wide. Each bar is 26 grams in weight. They are very crunchy and very tasty, once you bite into one you get a right mouth full of chocolate chips and chewy goodness of cornflakes, nuts and oats, they can be a little sticky and may be sickly to someone who?s not keen on nuts and chocolate together. The smell is divine and you want more (well I do anyway), the smell is very sweet and chocolaty, there?s also a strong smell...

Advantages: cheap, loads of varitys, its chocolate!!
Disadvantages: some may find it sickly

...Galaxy is my total favourite chocolate. It has a smooth, dreamy texture and the nicest sweet taste ever!! The bars come in a varity of sizes ranging from small snack size bars which usually come in a multipack costing about £2 to the really large share size (or eat all yourself and hide from anyone else) bars which usually cost about £4 but are on offer in Asda for £2 (or they were last week *I bought one and hid it but the kids found it :o( lol ). There are also a few varitys of galaxy from the ripple, the galaxy caramel, fruit and nut etc.... The chocolate is really smooth not at all like a dairymilk but more grown up chocolate...... ...I felt the need for chocolate last night - big time - (as one does), so I went to the local newsagents and looked at the abundance of coloured wrappers in front of my eyes, and came across 2 distinctive from the rest - which caught my eyes. A blue wrapper and a white wrapper. On closer examination, it was evident that these were chocolate bars with SMARTIES in them! (Now, I ‘have’ had a bad experience with Smarties - see other op on Smarties), but I really love chocolate, and I really love Smarties so I thought I'd give it a go. Now was the big decision of the visit to the newsagents - to purchase the MILK chocolate bar (blue wrapper) or the WHITE chocolate bar (white wrapper). Milka - Too much milk - not enough chocolate taste!

Advantages: Really milky creamy chocolate.
Disadvantages: A bit sickly sweet if you have too much. Too milky for me!

...does have a pleasant taste that is distinctly different to Dairy Milk or Cadbury's. In fact, it is probably similar to Lindt chocolate of the milk variety. It also has a nice aroma. ~~~Opinion~~~ It was ok, but I prefer dark 70% chocolate, that I feel is true to the chocolate taste. This being said, as this chocolate is being rated based upon it's milky claim, then it does in fact fulfil this. I should add that there is a sugary aftertaste that stays in the mouth for a time afterwards and eventually I felt like I needed to brush my teeth. I think that it is a chocolate that children in particular will enjoy. Whilst it is on offer, then I will buy this again and may get a few bars as at 58p, it offers good value for money. The best before date goes up to January 2010, so you could stock up. Calorie wise - not good news, a 25g...

...After being satisfied with the mint and orange puffins in Asda I bought some chocolate puffins when I next visited. The chocolate puffins are wrapped in a blue package have the word asda puffin on the front and pictures of the biscuit. Mint and orange flavored puffins are available too Size and calories ~~~~~~~ These biscuits come in packets containing 8 individually wrapped biscuits. 8, 25g chocolate covered biscuits for 61 p are quite good value 29.9 p per 100g .These biscuits contain 530kcal per 100g so about 132 kcal per biscuit. So do not eat too many as you will increase in sizeif you eat lots of calories. I ate one of these biscuits and found it was completely covered in a fairly thin covering of chocolate; it is a good tasty milk chocolate .The biscuit is a chocolate biscuit sandwiched like a bourbon biscuit...
