Thorntons Chocolate Sauce

...I think this must be a very new product in the Thorntons range - it's not even on their website yet! It was on the off-chance I found it in the Thorntons in Sheffield a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I saw it I thought 'I've got to try this stuff!'. There's two sauces in this range: chocolate and toffee. They come in 300g glass screw-top jars (be careful you don't smash it before you get it home!) that you could use for something else afterwards as there's no label on the jar itself. The product information is all on a little card held with gold coloured elastic around the neck of the jar. For a description we have "A smooth, rich sauce made with Thorntons dark chocolate and cream". And it is. In fact it's very rich! ...Asda Chocolate Profiteroles 2 pots I tried this dessert with one of my friends and we both enjoyed it, so I thought I should share the experience with you. It comes in two plastic pots each covered with a transparent film, and the two also come covered by the cardboard sleeve you can see in the picture. It can be bought from Asda for £1.24 (62p each) and it is definitely good value for money. This is cheaper than Waitrose Profiteroles which are sold for £1.49, and even Sainsbury's which cost £1.45. Good Sauce Gone Bad

...Back on pancake day this year, my mum returned home with two Askeys Treat! sauces. Apparently they were being heavily promoted as an ideal sauce for pancakes, although I myself was much more keen to stick to the traditional golden syrup or jam.. or maybe both, I don't want to come off tubby. ...When it comes to sweets and desserts my preference is definitely for something with cream in it, if as in this case there is also the addition of chocolate then we are getting seriously into heaven country. Unfortunately in this case the chocolate is not real and just a chocolate sauce, but having said that it is a bitter smooth yet sweet sauce which does itself justice when one considers the overall price of ASDA profiteroles. At £1 for a neat little box of 15 there is no way you can go wrong. The bright blue box contains within it frontage a rather tasty looking picture of a plate of these profiteroles.
