Advantages: Pleasant surroundings, good food and leisure facilities Disadvantages: room not to the standard of some hotels
..., coffee and hot snacks. There was also a hair and beauty salon on site, whose prices were comparable to the High Street back home. We arrived on the Friday night and made immediate use of the leisure facilities, we were however over-run with children from families who were members of the club. Not overjoyed, considering we had left ours at home, and Jarvis's policy indicates children under 12 are not allowed to enjoy these facilities. We used them again early the next morning, but again encountered quite a few young children.
The hotel was located in a residential area of SuttonColdfield, about 20 minutes brisk walk from the local shops, pubs and restaurants, which were quite good, but not cheap, but more economical than eating in the hotel restaurant.
Breakfast was on a 'serve' yourself basis, and offered a wide range of hot...
Advantages: Location, low price, although quality reflects this Disadvantages: Poor state of repair, over crowded, bad service, poor value for money.
...I joined La Fitness - SuttonColdfield just under a year ago and I am counting the days until it ends. I thought this gym would be a good choice as it was close to the train station where I get off and would encourage me to go more frequently. There is a Bannatyne at New Oscott but I couldn't face the traffic on the Chester Road.
I secured a corporate deal by introducing our company to LA Fitness. As I forgot my card on the day I actually went to sign up, I missed the deal to upgrade so that I would be able to use any gym for the same price. This would've helped me as I could've used the branch in town as I work nearby.
When I joined I noticed that there was often equipment that wasn't working and was left for a fairly long time before it was fixed. The air conditioning is only on now and then and the swimming pool's heating...
Advantages: Clean, Friendly staff, Good selection of leisure facilities Disadvantages: In the middle of no-where, not very comfortable, average food.
...Last week I was required to take a trip to Birmingham for business purposes and the company I work for decided to book me into the 4 star Lea Marston hotel for a 3 night stay.
LOCATION
Located in the North east of Birmingham, 8 miles from the International Airport, the Lea Marston Hotel is one the of the leading independent hotels in the area and luckily for me was located about 5 minutes from the office where I was required to be for the next 3 days. It's about a 20 minute car journey from the airport, near SuttonColdfield and is set on 54 acres of land. I flew down so a colleague of mine collected me from the airport and transported me to the hotel.
Unfortunately as I was there for business and did not have my own transport with me I was unable to explore the area or visit any local places of interest which includes...
Advantages: The food was good - when it finally arrived Disadvantages: The servcie was appalling
...I would like to share with you a cautionary tale regarding a recent trip to the La Reserve, a Beefeater restaurant in SuttonColdfield, West Midlands.
I have recently left work after a long spell of ill health, and I decided to take a few close friends out for the evening to say thank you to them for their support over the last year.
I decided to go to The La Reserve, as we had been there last year to celebrate my birthday and had really enjoyed our evening.
I booked the table for eight o’clock for myself and 7 guests about a month ago. We got there early, let the staff know that we had arrived, bought drinks from the bar and sat down to await our call to the table. We missed one of the announcements at about 8.05pm so my partner went and asked if it was us who had just been called. He was told that we had not, but that we...
Advantages: close to public transport Disadvantages: rooms were a bit shabby
...I grew up in and around the area of SuttonColdfield and had always wanted to stop at this hotel so when I saw a bargain on the internet of £50 for the room I jumped at the chance and promptly booked me and my partner in for a night. We were in the process of buying a house and things were getting pretty stressful so a night away in a hotel making use of spa facilities seemed like bliss!
We arrived at the hotel around 2pm and were greeted by friendly staff in a well lit lobby/reception area who quickly checked us in and informed us of the location of the room so off we headed to the mirrored lift...
When the lift opened on our floor it seemed quite dark even though the lights were on but we put this down to the dark wallpaper and continued our search for the room which due to the corridors being well signposted didn't take too...
Advantages: good stock availability on clothing, easy returns, free delivery Disadvantages: customer service not great, don't communicate well
...Choice
I have held an account with Choice for about four years now and have found them pretty good up until a recent bad experience. This catalogue is part of the littlewoods group and includes kays, great universal and additions. As with most catalogues they give you a credit limit and send a monthly statement requesting a minimum payment. You can pay by direct debit, credit/debit card, at the post office or bank counter by cheque or by online/tele-banking. They often have three and six months interest free promotions on and also frequent buy now pay later offers running throughout the year.
For me personally I have mainly used Choice for clothing, footware and small houshold items. They sell a wide rang of clothing, furniture, electricals, appliances, toys and gifts. Unless I have been shopping for sale items about 80...

Advantages: Great range of seeds and more Disadvantages: None
...If you are a new gardener or an experienced gardener, you will find something in the Suttons Seed Catalogue to suit you and your style of gardening.
The Suttons Seed Catalogue is well designed and well presented. It is of a good size (about A4) so it is not too small and the photographs of the items in the catalogue are easy to see and the printed descriptions are easy to read. It's also very colourful and ideal reading and viewing for the gardener frustrated by long nights spent stuck in doors away from their beloved garden during the winter months!
This edition of the Suttons Seed Catalogue celebrates the 200th anniversary of Suttons Seeds and it is a bumper catalogue filled with page after page of flowers, grass seeds, shrubs, cacti, sunflowers, vegetables, (including peppers, tomatoes, herbs, potatoes, etc. etc.) fruit trees...

Review of suttons-seeds.co.uk
Advantages: Fantastic resort and value for money Disadvantages: Customer service, Weddings Department
...When it comes to holidays my Husband and I like to go for cheap and cheerful; our typical holiday for the past 10 years would cost under £500, be in the EU and fully self catering. We had never booked a holiday with First Choice before as I prefer to search the Internet and find the cheapest deals myself, cutting out the shop assistants commission.
I first entered the First Choice in Rotherham while looking for a wedding destination for my then Fiance and I; as soon as I walked in I was impressed by the store, the main desks were set out as though they were in a large ship, then had a waiting area made to look like an old 60's dinner with a duke box and refreshments. More importantly for me they also had a small child's play area with cars, jigsaws and other toys to keep the children entertained throughout the long drawn out...

Review of First Choice
Advantages: Good track, good karts, good staff, clean, inviting Disadvantages: None
...Sutton circuit is based in a small village called Sutton in the Elms, near Broughton Astley, Leicestershire.
I have been going to the circuit now for about 2 years, at least once a month. I have also visited many of the outdoor karting circuits in the midlands, and a couple a little further a field. I can honestly say that Sutton is the best maintained track, best maintaoned karts, and some of the nicest people you would want to meet. Some of the circuits I have visited, the quality of the karts is completely unacceptable when you are paying upto £45 for 30 minutes. In all of my time going to sutton I have only ever seen two karts break down, or have any mechanical problems.
The circuit is around 600 yards long, and a good average lap is around 39 seconds whilst using the hire karts. The lap record using these karts is 38...
Advantages: Very close to Sutton Coldfield town centre and any bus route that goes into Sutton COldfield. It's close enough to pay a quick visit during your lunch break. Disadvantages: None that I can think of except that I can't go as often as I would like
...Radiant Ladies is a small beauty salon in While Road, SuttonColdfield not far from the town centre well within walking distance. When you first look for it, it's abit awkward as it is in rooms over a chemist shop but once you know where you are going, there's no problem. There is a little bit of a car park - enough room for arund 4 cars but as they would probably only have 2 clients in the salon at any one time, that is more than enough.
The salon itself is ran by two women - Caroline who is the owner, and Andrea, both of whom are very pleasant to speak to both on the phone and in person. Whatever treatment you are looking for, if they can do it, they will. In fact, both have recently updated their training and have extended their range of treatments (they use Elemis products)and surprisingly, the prices aren't that expensive...
