Advantages: Great suspense and decent plot Disadvantages: Feels very dated and some of the effects are laughable
...in particular which I always enjoy is "Christine". Directed by John Carpenter and adapted from a Stephen King novel, the film manages to build up suspense throughout its entire duration with out resorting to in your face gore. But to be honest, the plot and suspense is not the reason why I first encountered "Christine", it was the beautiful red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury which is undoubtedly the star of the film which grabbed my attention.
As already mentioned, "Christine" is an adaptation of the Stephen King novel, and whilst I cannot comment on how true to the book the adaptation is, I will say that it makes for a thoroughly decent movie. Based firmly in the real world, whilst relying heavily on a wonderful fantasy element, it manages to mix both seemingly effortlessly, making the viewer forget that a car coming to life is that...

Review of Christine (DVD)
Advantages: Good Cast, Funny, Great Script Disadvantages: Sometimes annoying, too many jokes about JLD's boobs!
...The New Adventures of Old Christine
One of the many survey groups I signed up for in a pursuit to a) get my opinions heard and b) make some extra cash (you can decide which came first!) was a feedback group for Warner Brothers. To date I have only been involved in one screening program, and it was for a potential new comedy show, The New Adventures of Old Christine. After watching the pilot episode, I was impressed and couldn't wait to see whether the show made it. The study must have produced good results because the show is now its second season - in the US at least. The show hasn't made it over to the UK yet (as far as I am aware) but if it keeps being such a success, it won't be long in coming.
The background
Christine Campbell is a newly divorced working mom of ten year old Richie. She's the owner and manager of a 30-minute...
Advantages: VIEWS VIEWS VIEWS Disadvantages: Had to come home.
...If you are looking for a Holiday Cottage with all mod cons, stop now, but if you want one with a view to die for and great location read on.
On our 39th Annual Visit to St Ives I thought I would give 15 The Warren a go.
When ever I had done an availability search on WWW.STIVESHOLIDAYS.COM this cottage had often showed as available. What could be the problem I thought, so being inquisative I booked it.
For the Week 11-18th October it would be £300, not the cheapest option but far from the dearest.
This includes all Gas and Electric.
Also payable is a returnable £100 damage deposit.
This cottage sleeps 3.
It is located on a street named the Warren, just two minutes from the Train Station and Bus Station, so ideal if like us you arrive by public transport.
You enter through a Blue Wooden Front Door, ahead of you is...
Advantages: Stops rabbit boredom and does not go soggy like a cardboard warren Disadvantages: The £9.99 price tag, but it lasts much longer than a cardboard tube!
...One of my two rabbits unfortunately passed away, which left flopsy with no playmate. I looked around to find a toy that would alleviate his boredom and found this great product called the Snugglesafe bunny warren. I previously used cardboard tubes from my local carpet shop as a play warren, but the cardboard would go soggy when wet and left mess around the whole garden. The Snugglesafe bunny warren is made from expandable bendy plastic and stretches to almost a metre in length. The instructions also say that that you can interlock pieces to make an even longer warren. Because it is made of plastic, it is also easy to wash and can be used indoors aswell as out.The cost of the warren is only £9.99 and you can find it from various sites on the web. The pet section of my garden centre sells it too.

Advantages: Intriguing, visually eye-catching Disadvantages: A little bit pretentious
...John and Laura Baxter are absolutely devastated when their young daughter, Christine, drowns not far from their home. To help them get over the shock, they go to Venice, where John has been engaged to renovate an old church. Laura meets two old women, one of whom is psychic and claims that she has seen Christine. Laura is convinced, but John is more sceptical. Then Laura is suddenly called back to England to see to their son, who has had an accident. While she is away, John begins to see things that couldn't possibly be there; namely his wife and his daughter. All this coincides with a series of murders in Venice. The psychic suspects that he also has the gift of second sight. Or is it just that his grief is slowly driving him mad?
John Baxter is played by Donald Sutherland, father of Kiefer. He gives a wonderful performance. His grief...

Review of Don't Look Now (DVD)
Advantages: some handsome guys and funny plots Disadvantages: predictable
...I watched today The Hottie And The Nottie. I read that it is a very weak film. As I haven?t seen Paris Hilton before I decided to watch this film. Although it was a predictable story it was quite nice.
This film is a romantic comedy. It was romantic I have to admit but I didn?t laughed on it so much. There were some funny scenes, but somehow they weren?t really original. It was directed by Tom Putnam. It is recommended from 12 years. The film was made in 2008 and takes one and half hours.
The characters:
Christabel Abott - Paris Hilton
Nate Cooper ? Joel David Moore
June Phigg ? Christine Lakin
Johann Wutrich ? Johann Urb
Cole Slawsen ? Adam Kulbersh
Arno Blount ? The Greg Wilson

...Christine is a move adaptation of a Stephen King novel by the same name. It is always a risk when you check out a movie which coes from one of his novels because you either get something really, really good or something absolutely abysmal. Christine sadly falls into the abysmal category being neither scary, funny or even in the slightest bit interesting.
The Christine of the title is in fact a 1958 Plymouth Fury automobile. A bright red babe-magnet which a 17 year old gimpy boy purchases from a scrap yard and begins to restore lovingly. Of course, with this new machine he becomes a babe magnet and his personality changes to match this, this transformation being the only real watchable part of the movie. He turns from weedy geek into hunky bloke and attracts a girlfriend much to the annoyance of the school in-crowd. However, that...

Review of Christine (DVD)
Advantages: Great concept and good lead character Disadvantages: Disappointing ending
...Background:
I found this novel while searching in the ?bargain bucket? at one of my local Charity Shops. I was actually looking for some flares for a 1970?s theme party I was going to at the weekend, when I stumbled upon this. The price was just 10p bargain was certainly the word that sprung to my mind. As for the trousers I couldn?t find them by managed to find a flowery shirt so bought that instead for the do.
About the Author:
Christine Greene was born in Luton in England. Her early career was in Nursing, however she combined this with her blossoming writing career from 1991, when her first novel was published. It was only in 1998 that she moved into writing thrillers full time. So far she has written a total of 15 books, since the first ?Deadly Errand?, which was short-listed for the John Creasy Award...
Advantages: Unbelievably good value for money; lovely staff; good food; nice atmosphere Disadvantages: The one I went to is in the backstreets of Croydon
...diners showed everything from jeans and trainers to suits and ties. We had both gone to some effort with our appearance, but didn't feel out of place there.
And on to our table, which was a sign of things to come. When we first sat down, the table was clear apart from the serviettes, cutlery, two crackers and a bread basket. While we were waiting for the drinks to arrive, I couldn't help noticing the painted images on the table, albeit slightly faint. The one that sticks out the most in my memory was a large one nearest my husband which reminded me of the famous Christine Keeler pose. Yes, a lady sitting on a chair, with nowt on but some fishnet stockings. Other, smaller offerings, were also in the main of women in various states of undress. Glancing across, the other tables were all the same. A curious accompaniment to my Christmas lunch...
