CHICK-LIT, KARAOKE *AND* REALITY TV? A WINNING COMBINATION . . .

Advantages: very interesting premise, great characters
Disadvantages: none, apart from the pseudonym factor!!!

...I heard about "Confessions of a Karaoke Queen" a while ago and was very eager to read it, although it seemed to have pretty mixed reviews around the blogosphere. However, any negative reviews didn't put me off giving it a go, because I really liked the various elements contained within the plot. ***Reality tv? Not a massive fan of most reality tv myself but reading about it is a whole different kettle of fish. ***Karaoke? Not a big fan of taking part in it, but like watching other people make an idiot of themselves. ***Eighties music? A great love of mine. Basically, it sounded like a novel that would be right up my street. And it was! "Confessions of a Karaoke Queen"'s heroine is Maddie, a girl whose parents were one hit wonders in the 1980's. Nowadays, they run a karaoke bar in London, but it's not necessarily the most popular...

Advantages: none stop entertainment
Disadvantages: only having one mic

...at the moment its in our living room,but eventually im going to get sick of it and it will be banished to there bedroom. it is a very snazy machine to look at and so durable,its already had a few knocks and tumbles and its still o.k. it was good that it has 2 microphone sockets,most dont.The only downside was that i had to by another mic,but i managed to pick one up from currys for under £10. This karaoke machine has echo mixing,auto vocal control and music/vocal balance.cd with repeat one/all functions,and easyto read display for cd function,easy for adults an children alike to use and set up. And it can be used as a cd player alone or just using the microphones alone or both together. Frogging Fun- leapfrog karaoke

Advantages: Edaucational and fun
Disadvantages: when the kids dad wont let them use it because he's having so much fun on there.

...My son was given this as a gift for christmas and has loved it so much i just had to put it foward as a new product on ciao. im delighted they accepted it as we've had so much fun with it in the time we've had it. it is a jukebox style karaoke machine- its central dial turns a choice of 4 discs each featuring different song options, there are 50 songs in total all with different styles, our favourite is "birdy bye bye" an elvis style song counting down from 5, we also love "stomp wiggle and jump" which is a dance along song where you do the moves as the song goes along, oh and i musnt forget the hilarious "annie annie oo" where you sing along adding different letters to the beginning ie gannie gannie goo or mannie mannie moo. the player doesnt actually open so there is no risk of loosing the discs. it has an actual working...
