Potted trees have been dug out of the ground a week or two earlier, they?ve had their roots hacked back to fit in a pot, and they have no more chance of surviving beyond Christmas than the conventional cut tree. What you must find is a pot-grown tree. Reputable suppliers will have their trees labelled accordingly, but sadly a great many don?t. A pot grown tree has been grown in the container in which it is sold, and therefore has suffered no disturbance or abuse. Capture this prize and take it home...

Easy to assemble Artificial Christmas Tree

Advantages: doesnt drop pine needles and can be used year after year

...We bought this artificial 5 foot christmas tree from poplar tree garden centre online last year and have only got round to writing this review now. The tree arrived within two days of making the order and took around 15 minutes to assemble. All of the components were packed well in the box and this artificial tree actually looks better than a real christmas tree. The leaves have a bluey silver tint to them which makes them look as if the tree has frost on them. I think this adds to the christmas feel of the room and makes the tree magically stand out. Everyone that sees this particular christmas tree is certain that it is real. The advantage to us is we dont tell them but we also dont have to hoover up pine needles everytime we turn the heating on. ...I absolutely adore Christmas, possibly even more so now I am a mum and I can get excited for Harry as well! I put my Christmas up as soon as it turns December the first and I love putting loads of baubles on, as many as I can squeeze on in fact! When I was younger, I remember my mum always used to buy us some Cadburys Chocolate decorations, which we were allowed as a treat occasionally. I was shopping in Sainsburys the other day and saw a packet of the very same decorations, so I couldn't resist getting some for Harry's tree! He gets that Father Christmas will be visiting if he's been a good boy, and he knows about Christmas trees but thats about as far as a 2 1/2 year olds understanding goes! So when I saw this book a few weeks ago in my Red House catalogue for a really great price, I couldn't resist and I thought it'd be a nice educational book for Harry and I to sit and share together in the build-up to Christmas. This book is the brain-child of those fabulous people at Usborne, who really to seem to have the edge on children's books in my opinion.
