My Chronos Christmas Cracker

Advantages: Clean modern design, excellent audio quality, flexible
Disadvantages: there may be a question over durability

...I'm an old duffer of 47 so I don't often get too excited about Christmas presents, this year was an exception, I knew Santa was bringing me a shiny new Pure Chronos CD DAB Alarm Clock. Made by Pure, a division of Imagination Technologies who are responsible for the design of over 80% of the DAB chips found in all DAB radios in the UK, this is a smart, compact and high quality unit retailing at between £80 and £100. I own one other DAB unit ( a TEAC) and by comparison the digital reception of the Chronos is terrific, it cleanly picks up well over 20 digital stations with little or no signal break and no external aerial. The darkest of crusades

...*The first paragraph of my previous reviews were missing, don't know how, hope the same doesn't happen to all my reviews. Dark Crusade is the second expansion to Warhammer 4000: Dawn of War and undoubtedly one of the best expansions ever. The best thing about this one is that it is a standalone expansion and does not require the original game to play. As most of the expansions these days require the original game, it is great to have an expansion like this one, especially for the people who are new to the game as they won't have to go searching for the original game after they get the Dark Crusade. The game includes all the races from the original, with two new ones added - the Necrons and the Tau Empire. The player will need to have the original for playing multiplayer with the other races though. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS...

...Trivium is presently one of the most well known bands out there. They are christened the "revival of thrash/heavy metal" by a lot of their fans. The press swoons around them, giving them more hype and praise then anything else recently. Do they live up to the hype? Well, not really. Ascendency was a good album, showing that Trivium had a lot of talent and can play their instruments, as well as construct emotional solos. But it was heavily flawed. It was repetitive, there was a lack of songwriting ability, and Matt's screams were, at times, atrocious. I was really hoping the Crusade would capitalise on that potential and I actually expected a great album. But did Trivium choose to capitalise on their potential? Doesn't seem like it to me. The Brilliant Crusade

...Well to be honest, when i first got WoW and i started playing properly, i got the expansion pack the very next day from buying the retail version! The Burning Crusade is the first expansion pack in the Series of World Of Warcraft (Wrath of the Lich King coming later in the year. I bet it will on September 30th). ...Since The Crusade was launched in the UK on 10th October 2006 I have read a number of reviews across a range of sites about this album and it seems to have split Trivium fans down the middle. A lot of fans were disheartened at the style of singing, choice of fact based lyrics and a new sound from the metal kings from Florida. In the bands early days there were a number of changes in the original lineup, Corey and Paolo were relatively late-comers having arrived after a number of Ember's songs had been wrtten and performed. Months of playing together, the Trivium we all know and love pulled together Ascendancy. Similar sounding to Ember but edging away from the metalcore towards thrash metal, the band had produced an album that was, for such a young band, a masterpiece in the making. Crusading success!

Advantages: Rocking / great if you like music with a guitar or 2!
Disadvantages: Bit heavy / will not suit everyone!

...I was fortunate enough to see Iron maiden on their world tour last year, on their final day at Earls Court. Having been a Maiden fan all my life this was the best I had ever seen a live band at, and when I heard that Trivium were supporting I had mixed reactions too it at first. So I brought the album to familiarize myself with some of their songs, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of musicianship and rigor displayed on the album. When hearing them live I was amazed at their raw talent, perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but if you like to rock out at a show, Trivium don't disappoint. I would recommend buying The crusade because I think every music collection should have a diverse range of music from jazz to soul to heavy metal. And the Crusade is a great heavy metal album to come out of 2006! The Crusade is...

Chrono Cross - 2 Worlds of Fun.

Advantages: large cast of characters, fun storyline, no random battles, great replay value, nice graphics.
Disadvantages: Quite short, not enough side-quests

...Chrono Cross, the widely anticipated sequel to the Super Nintendo's "Chrono Trigger" is a very rare game. Rare in 2 senses...1 in that it is usually hard to come by in shops and online, and 2 that it is a game that for it's time was groundbreaking. Even today, it is still a game that has stood the tests of time. You play as Serge (renameable if you choose), a young islander with a nice life and no real worries to complain about. However, all this changes as you stumble across a gateway into a parallel universe...in which you died 10 years ago! Now travelling between the two worlds you must discover why these events are happening to you. The cast of playable characters is huge, each with their own unique and quirky style...which adds an extra element to the game in trying to recruit them all. Some however are not recruitable...
