Chrysler Voyager 2.5 LX Turbo Diesel.
Advantages: Image,looks good.
Disadvantages: Build quality not very good.
...I bought this car new for my wife in December 2001 as our previous car was getting a bit long in the tooth ( Nissan Prairie , which was a great car and never let us down) , which is something that cannot be said for the Voyager.
The car came with a 3 year warranty , thankfully ,as we had to use it quite a lot . It has to be mentioned that the dealer who supplied the car ( Bickets of Kilmarnock) were pretty good in that they would pick it up and drop off a courtesy car whenever any work was needing done , which meant we got to drive a P.T cruiser (twice), a Chrysler Neon automatic (once) , a petrol Voyager (twice) , an automatic diesel Voyager (once) and a Cherokee jeep (once), but then we did pay £ 25,000 for the car and expected good service.
Lets start listing the faults: alternator faulty, replaced under...

My Chrysler "Nightmare" Voyager 2.5 CRD LX
Advantages: A nice looking car - presents a good image
Disadvantages: Cost of Servicing and parts
...items" has become seized and must be replaced. If you have your car serviced regularly, get them to lift out the injectors to make sure they are OK, it only takes 20 mins but could save you a fortune!!!!
SOmeone asked for more information on the car for this review, although i accept this forum is to help people decide when making the all important purchase, this was really a review on additional things to consider when making the purchase. I have been told today by 2 non-chrysler dealers that these type of problem are becoming quite common on Diesel Voyagers of this age, so with that in mind it is a fantastic car to own for 3 years and up until this issue the best car i have ever owned....

Far Flung Voyager
Advantages: Lots of room
Disadvantages: Very thirsty, performance not good enough
...The MPV has been one of the motoring phenomenons of the 1990s. From nowhere they have grown to take almost 15% of the car market if you include all MPVs and mini-MPVs. In Europe it has been Renault which has had the largest sales with their Espace and lately Scenic MPVs. The Picasso from Citroen is also doing very well. The Sharhambralaxy from VW/Ford/Seat and Ulysse/806/Synergie from Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen have been other ways to create an MPV without too much development cost. As usual though it has all been too much for Rover who have only just got round to building an estate so an MPV is probably years away.
The worlds greatest selling MPV however is none of these but the Chrysler Voyager which as well as being made in the USA is also bolted together in that hotbed of automotive production, Austria. I have been driving an estate...

Voyager
Advantages: Size, Comfort, Practicality, Versatile
Disadvantages: 2ltr engine is ridiculously under powered
...I had the 7 seater, 2ltr Voyager and regret selling it when I did.
Interior: Build quality is excellent. Very spacious. The quality of the leather is good for a US car. My kids loved having their own seat and space (less fighting!!) Be warned, if you want to remove seats from the car get some help. I could not believe how heavy they were - be careful.
Get all the seats out and you've got a van and can lug an amazing amount of stuff around. Having sliding rear doors on both sides is useful - the Toyota didn't have and was a pain.
Instruments and controls were once you got used to them clear and nice to use as a result of the quality of build.
Exterior: Looks good. The two rear sliding doors are much better than conventional opening doors like on the Ford. Roof bars are strong and useful but a pig to move - it will take...

Grand Voyager, the people and luggage carrier
Advantages: Space, power, comfort, auto is standard
Disadvantages: Width, servicing and parts costs, residual values
...We have owned a Grand Voyager 3.3litre LE from new, two years and 30k miles ago. It's been a great vehicle to carry six people in individual comfort, but so could claim a number of other MPV's. The difference is that the long wheelbase gives an extra couple of feet boot space compared with others in this class. We have four children, ranging from 11 to 16 years, and on their return to school on a Sunday evening, the piles of bags and boxes and pets has to be seen to be believed. Previous cars included the Mercedes 230 TE estate, Volvo 850 estate and a Mitsubishi Spacewagon, and this Sunday trip was becoming impossible. Holidays en famille were no fun, even with a roof box. The Voyager has proved to be a great success, and it can swallow up all the luggage for seven, as we have done in the last year.
The downside is that it is not just...

Chrysler Surpriser
Advantages: Handling, extras as standard.
Disadvantages: Gear-box, fuel economy.
...of the interior, great swathes of grey plastic give it a basic, impersonal feel but I'm in to minimalist so it works for me.
Equipment
This is where it starts to get good. Chrysler produce most of their cars for the American market, and drivers over there are more demanding than us Brits. What are usually classed as extras over here are fitted as standard to the Neon. So you have the usual, such as ABS, power steering, electric windows (front only) and central locking, but you also get electric mirrors (l/h one folds in for garage/car-wash), built in alarm and immobilizer, air-bags for driver and passenger, and air-conditioning.
If you want to be greedy, it could do with a sunroof, heated front windscreen and CD changer.
Instruments
Nothing ground-breaking here, I can see what I want to see and the controls are mostly well placed...

Ultimate mother ship: people AND luggage carrier.
Advantages: Cabin space and load capacity, versatility, comfort, performance, great for long journeys.
Disadvantages: Replacement parts, build quality, questionable design features.
...to be stored but on our '97 model there are adjustment and release handles cluttering up the spaces. Also, the release handles for the bench seat protrude too much into the cargo area and don't move when the bench seat moves -the seat back moves forward eight inches but these handles & rails still sit in the load space. Our Merc was full of lots of elegant little design features but a lot of the design on the Voyager is kind of slap dash. I don't like to see screwheads on internal trim, but Chrysler obviously think they are ok inside and out! Some of the build quality is a bit too plasticy and flimsy -the flat dash top surface is very thin and wobbles sometimes. This may have changed on newer models. Even the electric wing mirrors sound tinny and cheap compared to European cars. One last gripe is that on our old model there is only a lap...

Nothing classic about Chrysler Classic Racing!
Advantages: Easy game
Disadvantages: Poor graphics. Slow driving experience. Poorly designed. Not much fun!
...Want to race a collection of Chrysler classics from the '50s, '60s and '70s: the Plymouth Belvedere (1954, 1955 and 1957 models, as well as the '57 convertible), the Chrysler 300 (various models from the '50s and '60s), the 1969 Plymouth GTX Road Runner, 1970 Plymouth Duster and Superbird, and a couple of Barracudas.
If the answer is yes then you may like this!
I say may because i found a few flaws with this game. Personally i do not think the vehicles have been represented very well, plus the overall experience was rather dated and not quite the blast from the past that i'd expected. I find this game to be rather undeveloped in ideas and style. For exaple you do not use a wii remote or any motions, you simply use the thumbstick on the nun-chuck! It just does not seem right to be sat back moving you're thumb to a wii game!
Due to...

how many cup-holders do you actually need
Advantages: comfortable ride and spacious
Disadvantages: fairly expensive to run
...We bought a Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 SE back in February 1997 when our family jumped from four to six in one fell swoop! The arrival of our twins put paid to the usual five seater family vehicle and introduced to us the wonders of MPV's!
As we were earning monthly salaries per week at this time we decided we'd go for the top of the range and travel in style.
After a very short time looking at other makes we went to the local Chrysler showroom and drooled and looked longingly at the Lotus Elise that was not an option and won't be til we're pensioners! So we test drove a Voyager 3.3 SE (petrol, unavailable as a diesel at that time) instead. We fell in love immediately and decided there and then that this was the vehicle for us!
We went for the Rosewood with tinted windows and awaited our delivery. It was the first brand new car we...
