...I have recently taken out a policy with churchill insurance and i have to give credit to churchill as they were able to provide me with the lowest quote out of all the insurance companies. i have tried over 50 companies in order to get my quote down to £430.95 with 4 years ncb. I was quite suprised that my quotes were coming out so high with 4 years ncd but i am under 25 and do own a 2001 registered car. i did try phoning churchill first of all and the gave me a quote in the region of £490. I then got a quote from their website and their quote came down by £60. I do feel a little disappointed that they could not quote me the lowest price on my first call, however this is a problem i have noticed with all insurance companies. My actual policy itself has the following excess. fire and theft £100 windscreen...

Churchill Insurance

Advantages: Repairs service is excellent
Disadvantages: Get hammered if you claim

...We've been with Churchill now for 3 years, and admiteddly the only reason we're still with them is because no-one else will touch us with 23ft barge pole, however, it's not all bad. For starters, their premiums were very competitive when we changed our car from a 1.2 Seat Ibiza to a 2.0l Mondeo GLX. The premium actualyl went down, despite the bigger engine and higher value of the car, although this was probably because it wasn't some foreign crap but who knows. When I managed to wrap the mondeo around a lampost (which didn;t take a lot of doing I admit....) they were very quick at sorting out our claim. The car was still driveable, but it was quickly booked in for repair and we were given a hire car while ours was being repaired. Churchill Will You Pay My Claim ? Oh Yes

...I've been purchasing my motor insurance from Churchill for a number of years now. My initial reason for contacting Churchill for an insurance quote was the catchy bulldog adverts, you know the ones, voiced by Vic Reeves - Oh no, no, no, no and Oh yes. However, once I'd contacted them I discovered there was more to this company than a catchy advert. OHHHHH NOOOOO Churchill

I changed cars last year and having got a much smaller car, Churchill beat my NU renewal quote by a considerable margin, which was a good start. A month ago I was rear ended after stopping at a red traffic light, the guy behind didn't. Only minor damage, less than the excess, and the other driver admitted liability straight away. I got a few quotes but they were all around the same price as i was already paying except one which was just ridiculous. You'd think I was driving a ferrari for the price i was quoted. Churchill's pull your finger out!

Advantages: cheap, levels of choice, pay vet direct
Disadvantages: most vets dont take them direct!

They claim to pay the vet's direct, and settle claims fast. However, Goddard's & Companion Care don't take direct other than from PetPlan, as they get commission & as Petplan is so much more money for the same cover- I'd rather not be forced into going with them. I Called up Churchill's, and asked them which vet's in my area take their insurance. I spoke with the claims department, the customer service department, and the vet finder line- none of them can actually give even a name of any vet- in the country that take their insurance direct! Cheapest insurer for an under 25.

Advantages: Cheapest by far for an under 25 year old.
Disadvantages: Minor policy restrictions.

...One year and one month ago I had my insurance revoked from Dial Direct after their system did not recognise the post-code for my new house I had just moved into. Obviously I started phoning all the 0800 numbers getting insurance quotes (since you must be insured by law!) - but alas, because most other insurance companies' systems could not find the new post-code I could not be insured through them either. From a limited number of insurance companies I took the quote from Churchill (which I had received via "insure direct"/Lloyds TSB). Their system had the ability to ignore the post-code since I could provide a postal address instead (hooray - common sense prevails..!). ...Since I wrote this OP I have had to try to claim on my house insurance with major problems, read the Chirchills house insurance OP I came to be with churchill by accident the company I was insured with was bought out by Churchills. You only find out if your insurance is any good the day you need to claim & the two times I have needed them they were fantastic. The first time I was driving home when a car swerved around a parked car & hit the side of my car & then drove off. I chased him and got his details etc the police said they could not do anything because I had stopped him within a mile of the accident. An average car insurance company

Advantages: Quite cheap, good customer service
Disadvantages: Big premium for a few months after moving

...I am now into my third year Churchill Car insurance. I\'ve never really had any problems with them and they are always competitvley priced. My renewal this year was expensive but I rang them up and they got it down by £50 so I stayed with them. My second year they gave me 30% no claims discount for one year and my thrid year they have given me a discount of even more. However, when I moved house I was charged a £150 premium for three months because I was living in a worse area, but I understand that it can\'t be helped. This year I am paying in installments for the first time and I am quite impressed that the APR is only 10%. Some other companies do it for free, but as it works out it's only around £60 for the convienience of paying monthly for me, which I think is worth it. They also gave me discount on my Green Flag...
