...I've been purchasing my motor insurance from Churchill for a number of years now. My initial reason for contacting Churchill for an insurance quote was the catchy bulldog adverts, you know the ones, voiced by Vic Reeves - Oh no, no, no, no and Oh yes. However, once I'd contacted them I discovered there was more to this company than a catchy advert. I've always been impressed by their levels of customer service regarding setting up policies, change of car and change of address, not to mention their competitive rates. One aspect of their service I'd never tested however, was their claims service, until now that is. I'll deal with the details of my claim and how they handled it later, first though, a bit of background and information about insuring your car with Churchill. ...I have now been with churchill car insurance for nearly 2 yrs. Since that time whenever i have had to contact them for changing over my policy, changing car details etc etc, if i have been on a mobile depending on how busy they are at the time, they will ring you back. And they actually do ring you back whent hey say they will, mostly within minutes of ending the call. They are the friendliest company i know, and i have been with a few. They actually do their job and try their hardest to find you the best possible services that they have to offer, and 9 times out of 10 they are the cheapest as they try to beat any like for like quote. Also theyre policies dont go up!! OHHHHH NOOOOO Churchill

Disadvantages: no 'one' named person deals with claim, too many call transfers to different departments

...Having recently changed to Churchill (feb 2007)after being with Norwich Union for some years, i have been pretty dissapointed with the service I have had. I changed cars last year and having got a much smaller car, Churchill beat my NU renewal quote by a considerable margin, which was a good start. A month ago I was rear ended after stopping at a red traffic light, the guy behind didn't. Only minor damage, less than the excess, and the other driver admitted liability straight away. First Churchill questioned the fact that I wanted to use a Toyota dealer for the repair,even though the car is less than a year old and to use a non-Toyota garage may have invalidated the corrosion warranty etc. Then they insisted on an engineer inspecting the car, even though photo's were taken at the main dealer garage, and then they could not...

Car Insurance

.... In a few years time there'll probably be a new digital channel just for these insurance companies to sell their products. I got a few quotes but they were all around the same price as i was already paying except one which was just ridiculous. You'd think I was driving a ferrari for the price i was quoted. I had a moan one day to my father in law and he asked if i'd checked out Churchill. He did the same last year and got a free nodding dog. Well this is the selling point for me especially with a 2 year old that loves the Vic Reeves commercials. Insurance For New Drivers? Ohhh yes!!

...I have recently taken out a policy with churchill insurance and i have to give credit to churchill as they were able to provide me with the lowest quote out of all the insurance companies. i have tried over 50 companies in order to get my quote down to £430.95 with 4 years ncb. I was quite suprised that my quotes were coming out so high with 4 years ncd but i am under 25 and do own a 2001 registered car. i did try phoning churchill first of all and the gave me a quote in the region of £490. I then got a quote from their website and their quote came down by £60. I do feel a little disappointed that they could not quote me the lowest price on my first call, however this is a problem i have noticed with all insurance companies. An average car insurance company

Advantages: Quite cheap, good customer service
Disadvantages: Big premium for a few months after moving

...I am now into my third year Churchill Car insurance. I\'ve never really had any problems with them and they are always competitvley priced. My renewal this year was expensive but I rang them up and they got it down by £50 so I stayed with them. My second year they gave me 30% no claims discount for one year and my thrid year they have given me a discount of even more. However, when I moved house I was charged a £150 premium for three months because I was living in a worse area, but I understand that it can\'t be helped. This year I am paying in installments for the first time and I am quite impressed that the APR is only 10%. Some other companies do it for free, but as it works out it's only around £60 for the convienience of paying monthly for me, which I think is worth it. They also gave me discount on my Green Flag...

Churchill Insurance

...We've been with Churchill now for 3 years, and admiteddly the only reason we're still with them is because no-one else will touch us with 23ft barge pole, however, it's not all bad. For starters, their premiums were very competitive when we changed our car from a 1.2 Seat Ibiza to a 2.0l Mondeo GLX. The premium actualyl went down, despite the bigger engine and higher value of the car, although this was probably because it wasn't some foreign crap but who knows. When I managed to wrap the mondeo around a lampost (which didn;t take a lot of doing I admit....) they were very quick at sorting out our claim. The car was still driveable, but it was quickly booked in for repair and we were given a hire car while ours was being repaired. Cheapest insurer for an under 25.

Advantages: Cheapest by far for an under 25 year old.
Disadvantages: Minor policy restrictions.

...One year and one month ago I had my insurance revoked from Dial Direct after their system did not recognise the post-code for my new house I had just moved into. Obviously I started phoning all the 0800 numbers getting insurance quotes (since you must be insured by law!) - but alas, because most other insurance companies' systems could not find the new post-code I could not be insured through them either. From a limited number of insurance companies I took the quote from Churchill (which I had received via "insure direct"/Lloyds TSB). Their system had the ability to ignore the post-code since I could provide a postal address instead (hooray - common sense prevails..!). ...I have been an extremely satisfied motor insurance customer of Churchill's for a number of years. I first used Churchill after they gave a highly competitive quote on my then new (used) car. It was the first time I wanted fully comprehensive insurance and was dreading the cost, however Churchill under cut other companies by over £150. After my second year with them decided it wasn't worth bothering to shop around as Churchill cannot be beaten for my needs. Unfortunately, in 1999 I had the misfortune of a minor accident, which was my fault. Churchill were fantastic. My car was taken in and repaired within a week and a courtesy car provided. The service was second to none and the advisors were great. I did feel embarrassed about the accident but my claim was handled with very professionally.
