Another Expensive Complicated Software?

Advantages: Has many differnt features you can use which are very rewarding
Disadvantages: Not cheap and would be a big learning curve for some who hasnt tried 3d modeling

...Cinema 4D in my opinion is one of the most advanced 3D design software out there at the moment. I have had it for a long time and recently upgraded to release 10. Cinema 4D can do things that ZBrush can do like using a magnet tool and push and pull parts of a sphere in and out. It has many, many advanced but easy to use tools. When you have finished designing and making your masterpiece with the extensive tools Cinema 4D can use you can export it in many different formats which includes wave front (obj). It has 30+ tools you can use! It also works with structure, Animation, Hair, Render and the list keeps on going. The good thing I like about this product is that is has many features that other competitive software uses for example Maya. I find Cinema 4D has the most friendly interface. Credo - I believe in cinema

Advantages: Beautiful, artistic, accessible
Disadvantages: Some may be put off by the subtitling

Advantages: Easy to use and user frindly
Disadvantages: Nothing springs to mind!

...Just to give a little background, I have been dabbling with 3d packages, on and off for the past 17 years. I started back in the halcyon days of my Amiga before I left school, and then got back into it for a while at University. Then was a bit of hiatus. About 5 or 6 years ago, I bough a PC magazine which had a free copy of Cinema 4D 6 on it, and since then I have been hooked & upgrading ever since. There are a few packages available on the market at the moment, but I have to say that C4D is by far my favourite. It has all to tools you would expect from a professional 3d package (although the names differ from one to another), and can match almost everything any other package can do, but the basics are so much easier to learn. Better than the cinemas! Fresher too!

Advantages: Real cinema sweet taste.
Disadvantages: No re-seal option on the bag.

...Opinion- Having worked in a cinema and tested a variety of the foods they had to offer I can honestly say the popcorn lives up to it's claim, it has a genuine cinema popcorn feel, only you know this popcorn is freshly opened, hasn't been touched by ten different people before being handed to you and doesn't cost you the earth. They say the popcorn is perfect to share but you'd have to fight me for it before id willingly hand it over, it's my favourite snack. While I could easily polish off the whole 120g bag in one go (its a nice light snack) I do have some restraint and usually restrict myself to a third of the bag in one sitting, you cant really make it go longer than that as the bag is not resealable and the popcorn gets sticky and chewy once the air really has a chance to get at it (id say finish it off within 4 days maximum) they do...

Maidenhead Odeon Cinema - stay away!!

Advantages: there wasn't any!
Disadvantages: no food or drink, dirty, screens didn't work, didn't show any of the top movies

...I don't know anything about Maidenhead to be honest, but I'm pretty sure this is the only cinema there. I was away staying at me girlfriends Nan's last week, and we wanted to go to the cinema. We went swimming first, which is why we were at Maidenhead in the first place. Anyway, we got there at about midday, and couldn't wait to sit down and enjoy our movie... At the time we weren't one hundred percent sure what we wanted to see... I wanted to see the new Batman film, however my girlfriend hadn't seen any of the other Batman films and wanted to see them before spending £7 on seeing the newest one. Europes tallest cinema

Advantages: price, location, choice
Disadvantages: lack of parking

...are located on 3 floors (2nd, 3rd and 4th). Signposting to the screens at each floor is very good (providing the windows-based software is working!). Once you've reached the correct floor then you proceed through the drinks/refreshments area (making you feel like you HAVE to buy something). Surprisingly prices are very competitive, for both a cinema and the city centre. You are permitted to bring your own drinks/refreshments. There is also a bar on the 1st floor, one of the few licensed cinemas in Scotland! Each screen is very easy to find, although the toilets are located at the end of corridor, making it a long trip for some. The toilets are excellent. The doorway to each screen has yet another PC-based display, a very nice touch, although you can see the odd one with the windows failure! I've been to this cinema numerous...
