Obscure accessory for obsolete Olympus Digicams

...My 100th review ? in some ways I wish I?d chosen a more glamorous item to cover, but this will have to do! Earlier Olympus Digital cameras used RS232c interfaces to connect directly to Personal Computers; my first semi-serious digital camera (an Olympus CAMEDIA C 960ZOOM reviewed previously) was one such example. Cameras of this vintage frequently have two 3.5mm jack sockets, one for Composite Video out (and feature a yellow collar) the other, for data is beige to match the cable. The cable is reasonably high quality, being roughly a metre long, and terminating in a 3.5mm jack plug at one end, and a 9 pin serial connection at the other. Cisco IP Phone 7941

Advantages: ease of use, strong, durable, linking into GAL, remote managment and upgrades from call manager.
Disadvantages: Call quality is dependant on quality of the Network. Duplex settings, over utilized network, etc

...In my experience with the Cisco IP phone 7941, which has been for 5 years or so, has been nothing but pleasure. There features to link into AD and the ability to log onto any phone in the building and look up a user on the GAL on AD is very handy indeed. Call Transfer,Conference, Mute are the standard features. The Phones will have to be set up to work with a call manager, Which is a centre point to manage the phones, and has the ability to record conversation for quality control, etc. They have 2 options when it comes to powering these phones, on is to buy a power adapter, the other is to buy a Cisco Switch that can supply power to the phones via Ethernet. Basic Cisco Course

Advantages: More money @ work, More Knowledge

Obsolete, but perfect for Cisco exams

Advantages: Very Cheap, with lots of features
Disadvantages: Will help with CCNA, but may stuggle with CCNP

These are by no means cutting edge routers, and are obsolete now as they only support 10Mbps via their AUI (lan) port and support a limited amount of protocols. The router itself has one AUI port, which when used with a transceiver can connect to either another router or a switch (at 10Mbps); 2 serial ports which can be configured with a routing protocol such as frame relay to connect to another switch or ISP data terminal equipment, a console port to configure the router itself, and an AUX port for modem connection. Wii component cable- Well worth the money

Advantages: sharper/brighter picture, opens up more ports on TV, saves hassle.
Disadvantages: quite expensive for a simple console improvement

...The Nintendo Wii component video cable really is a sound investment if you are the owner of an HD/ LCD TV, and obviously a nintendo Wii. Before i bought it, i had trouble with the picture quality and contrast on many of the games. Games such as Wii Sports were fine, but more of the action/adventure games such as Zelda or Splinter Cell give a very dark picture which can sometimes be hard to make out what was happening. The only way i could combat this problem was to adjust the contrast on my television which did help, but was alot of hassle. With the component cable, the picture is not only much brighter, but much sharper and defined. The GAMEware component cable spices up the Wii's HD graphics.

Advantages: Improves the graphical quality of games, Cheaper than the official cable.
Disadvantages: I suppose some people will unfairly compare the Wii and the 360/PS3 graphics and be disappointed?
