Advantages: Reliable, functional and cheap, easy to use

However, remember to plug in the mains cable to the rear of the switch BEFORE you bolt it in. Its difficult to reach to the back unless you have a cabinet that opens on all sides or if like us, the back faces a wall! All of the network sockets and connections are located on the front of this switch so it means no further fiddling around the back once it is installed. Handy if you need to make any networking changes to the configuration. On the older models (pre last summer) there was a button located on the Right hand side that allowed users to select between Uplink and normal perfomance on the 24th port. I understand that this game has other names but I don't know what they are. Switch is a unique game, in that it doesn't follow the whist or rummy format, nor is it a variation of poker or brag. Any number can play but if there will be more than about 8 players, an extra pack of cards must be used. Whether the extra pack of cards has the same design on the back as the first pack, is irrelevant. The speed of the game is such, that there shouldn't be time to work out the probability of a player holding a particular card, based on the difference in the back of the card. Cisco IP Phone 7941

Advantages: ease of use, strong, durable, linking into GAL, remote managment and upgrades from call manager.
Disadvantages: Call quality is dependant on quality of the Network. Duplex settings, over utilized network, etc

...In my experience with the Cisco IP phone 7941, which has been for 5 years or so, has been nothing but pleasure. There features to link into AD and the ability to log onto any phone in the building and look up a user on the GAL on AD is very handy indeed. Call Transfer,Conference, Mute are the standard features. The Phones will have to be set up to work with a call manager, Which is a centre point to manage the phones, and has the ability to record conversation for quality control, etc. They have 2 options when it comes to powering these phones, on is to buy a power adapter, the other is to buy a Cisco Switch that can supply power to the phones via Ethernet. Excellent for your managed network solution

Advantages: Monitor, Cap Bandwidth, Security and Fairly easy setup

...Really good switch this is Easy to setup in the hyper terminal with the serial cable, must make sure you have a machine with a serial port as quite afew machines dont have them any more. I was able to cap server machines to 100mbits or 10mbits switch was excellent because i was able to cap the bandwidth. With the Giga Connection it was excellent to share the speed via all the ports either at 10mb or 100mb. Easy to configure in the web admin area lots of features including security and firewall. You can monitor the bawidth in and out very easyily There are many different prices for this kit and a big difference in price with different supplyers and retailers. I got mine from ebuyer which was at the time cheeper than anywhere else 5 out of 5 stars because this did everything i needed it to...

Obsolete, but perfect for Cisco exams

Advantages: Very Cheap, with lots of features
Disadvantages: Will help with CCNA, but may stuggle with CCNP

These are by no means cutting edge routers, and are obsolete now as they only support 10Mbps via their AUI (lan) port and support a limited amount of protocols. The router itself has one AUI port, which when used with a transceiver can connect to either another router or a switch (at 10Mbps); 2 serial ports which can be configured with a routing protocol such as frame relay to connect to another switch or ISP data terminal equipment, a console port to configure the router itself, and an AUX port for modem connection. Though well past it's sell by date, the switch is perfect to get to grips with Ciscos IOS (internetwork Operating System) and set up simple routed networks in conjuction with other routers and switches.
