Ciroen C4 VTR+
Advantages: Toys
Disadvantages: Ride
...and down the box for the power - 5th couldn't pull a fat minger at ten to two in the nightclub, even with the offer of a free kebab first. There is no footrest either - a capital crime in my opinion!
Economy on the C4 was rather poor - i did 29.3 mpg with a bit of town driving and mostly motorway. Ok, I was in a rush but the lack of power means you have to rev it. Apparently you can do over 40, but that would be my dad driving.
On the whole, I cannot imagine why anyone with the required level of intelligence to walk into the showroom with £14,300 would actually buy this car. It's just so poor compared to the competition - the Focus blows it away. If you want economy, a 1.6TDCi is as powerful and has MUCH more torque, handles better and, although it won't have as many 'toys', they are generally a) useless or b) annoying on the C4 anyway. If...

Citroen C4 Transformer
Advantages: Good styling and plenty of gadgets
Disadvantages: Citroen reputation
...When looking for a car recently I wanted everything and thought I would have to compromise. To my surprise I didn't and I am now the proud owner of this car. Leaving facts and figures aside it's a great looking car, affordable, sporty and packs a turbo diesel punch!
It had to be less than £10,000
No more than 3 or 4 years old
No more than 20,000 miles on the clock
Low fuel consumption
Low tax bracket £150 a year max
Sporty looks and decent performance
Good resale value
Plenty of gadgets (I am a bloke after all)
Good ride and handling
Believe it or not the Citroen C4, specifically the coupe VTS 2.0HDi diesel delivered on all of the above. Citroën has never given buyers in this class a car as good as the C4. The old Xsara - and before that ZX - failed to hit the spot with bland looks and little innovation. But the C4 is...

Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDi Desire - a surprisingly good all rounder!
Advantages: Massive boot space, Frugal engine, Comfortable ride.
Disadvantages: Poor residuals, Engine noise, Styling
...Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDi Multispace
Performance
The 1.6HDi engine has been used in Citroens and Peugeots for over 10 years now, testament to it's popularity and reliability. It is smooth and responsive, if a little noisey and capable of providing adequate acceleration and overtaking ability. The o-62 mph time is a sluggish 15 seconds and the top speed is 93 mph. The 5 speed manual is precise and solid which build on a silky smooth ride comfort to give an overall relaxing driving experience.
Practicality
This is where the cars excels. Its cavernous boot space will swallow all your luggage, shopping or pets with ease. The optional Dog Gaurd which is fitted in my car is custom made for the Berlingo and is solid and secure. It is made of a fine metal mesh which only marginally reduces rear visibility. The Desire...

So where's the flippin' "robot" button then?
Advantages: High Tech gadgets, 20K Mile service intervals, smooth ride and good handling
Disadvantages: I can't make it dance.
...into a robot!!
So I pop into the nearest showroom (?must remember to ask the salesman to show me the robot thingy) and look at the range of new C4's. Then I take it for a test drive (....must remember about the robot thingy). OK. So far, so good. Next we talk cash ? (damn! forgot to ask about the robot thingy). Well, I know how much it costs in the showroom. So then I spend hours, no days?nay weeks, searching the internet for all the good deals, only to end up back at the first dealer showroom with an offer I can't beat anywhere else. It's a deal. Oh yes!!
I pay the equivalent of £11,800 for the C4 1.6 16V VTR Plus - with metallic paint. Now that's a good deal, because the showroom price (with metallic paint) is £14,645. Even "What Car?" suggest a target price of £12,388 PLUS £350 for the option of metallic paint
Oh joy...

Citoren Saxo VTR
Advantages: Speed,Comfort,Looks,Drive
Disadvantages: Interior, Fuel economy at high speeds
...I have had a Citroen Saxo VTR now for 9 months, which I have enjoyed every minute of. The car itself on looks, in my view is amazing, the Mark 2 version which I own has more curved headlights than the Mark 1 version with more rectangular shaped lights, personally I prefer the former. The poseidon blue paintwork shines very well in sunlight, and is very eye catching. The interior is a bit tacky and very rattly at times, especially driving along uneven roads. The rattle does get annoying at times, but with the car's sound system at a moderate volume you do not notice it at all! The seats of the Saxo look like they've come straight out of the 80's, the Peugeot 106 leather seats would have been a lot better option for the car. The saxo's white dial's are very soft on the eye, especially when driving at night. The sound system of the saxo is...

Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec
Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked
...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs.
I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for.
I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in.
The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair.
The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

Dancing Transformer Citroen C4 Car
Advantages: Very Unusual and unique
Disadvantages: none
...PRODUCT BEING ADVERTISED:-
---------------------------------------------------
The Citroen C4 Available in Hatchback or Coupe
The Citroen advert is famous for the following quote on all the C4 range adverts:--ALIVE WITH TECHNOLOGY
There are two different styles of the C4 transformer adverts, which have been produced I am going to detail the both.
Advert One-
The advert is set in a deserted car park, and begins with a silver transformer style robot doing warm up exercises against a car park pay and display information board. The robot does several different warm up exercises before it suddenly transforms and turns into a Citroen C4 and land in a parking space. Then we get a funky style robotic music start playing from its stereo. Suddenly the Citroen C4 transforms again into a Robot and does a series of groovy...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!
Advantages: Handling and Looks
Disadvantages: Customer Service, Bodywork, Transmission...
...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car.
First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began....
After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me.
Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

Saxo VTR pocket rocket that kept stalling!
Advantages: fast, little pocket rocket
Disadvantages: unreliable
...£400. During this time a fault developed on the engine causing the car to be unable to tick over, with the engine cutting out at junctions and stall constantly etc. This was remedied by Citroen and cost £300.
The engine was very fast, even though it was 1.6 8v, mainly because the car was so light it could shoot off, which is why it is so popular with boy racers. Acceleration was very fast and when the engine wasn't broken down it was a joy to run. But unfortunately it was just too unreliable.
The car handled very well, having been round corners with my likes-to-think-he's-a-formula-one-driver boyfriend at 60mph. With good tyres your more likely to tip the car than skid.
4. Modifications
This car is very easily modified, which again makes it extremely popular with boy racers. Our saxo had tinted windows, alloys, stainless steel exhaust...

Clutchless Gearbox on a Diesel - Rare Combination
Advantages: Looks good, plenty of extras, well built, spacious interior, no clutch
Disadvantages: Automatic gearchanges could be better timed
...When looking for a new car back in December 2006, I wanted something which ran on diesel, had a clutchless gearbox (i.e. automatic with paddleshift) and looked good. This combination limits youto a number of manufacturers it seems, and I ended up choosing between a diesel automatic Audi A3 and the Citroen C4 1.6HDi 16V VTR+ Coupe EGS. I chose the Citroen C4 based on the fact that it is better value for money (unsurprisingly) and looks better (I also already have a Citroen Picasso)
Design
I chose the 3 door version, as it looks much better than the 5 door version (which looks like a Ford Focus), a bit sporty even, and meets my requirements. I chose the "Iron Grey" colour, which I think compliments the car's salmon-esque shape. I don't see many C4s in the South-East of the UK, and it does stand out amongst the usual German marques...
